  • My honest thoughts about Stocks FC, not sponsored. Looking at how sustainable the platform is based on the information I could find.

The IPO revenue is actually split
    20% TOTW
    20% Inplay
    10% TOTM
    5% TOTS
5% floor price (you can sell your players to the platform for 5%)
    10% Marketing and Operations cost
So 90% is kept inside while only 10% is collected by the company
All transactions are done smart wallet (Blockchain) so basically 1 tx or 10mil tx have the same cost
No licensing costs aswell (except opta) so minimal expenses aswell
I think this platform is going to do very well, as we grow ROI obviously decreased up to the point in which we resch a market equilibrium
Additionally, the founder Alex was also an FI victim so I'm sure he has done everything with the vision of long term sustainability

Slightly related to your point at the end about putting in maybe 20% of what you have put in sorare - if it was something youd be comfortable in sharing - I'd love to see a video breaking down your savings/investments across traditional and crypto spaces. Just percecentages if not numbers. Think theres a lot of people our age with similar crypto interests and high risk tolerance that would be interested. Like I'd be interested in your split from coins to games and how you divvy up your funds.
Very good video highlighting the risks and praises of stocks though, good job.

It’s a really good point might be a bit over sharing though. I have debated it because it would be fun, I run my portfolio as splits cash, stocks, crypto, nfts and alternative assets. Splits change quite frequently and happy to lose whatever goes into nfts really as it comes from crypto mainly

But then if I share all that it’s essentially everything I own so not sure I can do it right without revealing too much

Great balanced video considering such a short time on the platform! Hope to see you more in the community to learn a lot more of the nuances that make it so special.
One initial feedback that I disagree with is the fact that the way it's set up, the vast majority of players are compounding their rewards each week (and not just sitting on/withdrawing their winnings each week).
If everyone did just withdrew their rewards each week, then I agree it would be difficult to sustain long term - however, in reality, I think that 90% of people are using their rewards to buy new IPO players each week, or top up their holds on the secondary market.
This means very little money actually leaves the platform each week, and this makes the long term sustainability much more solid.
Thanks for the candid assessment though. Good to hear intelligent opinions from people coming into the game with fresh eyes.

I put about 150 quid in about 6 months ago after someone in your discord mentioned it. I bought some players and never looked at it again as it doesn't feel like there's really much to do on it like there is in Sorare or Pooky. My portfolio is showing higher than what I've put in though so that's decent I guess.Unless they add more of an actual game to it, I think I'd definitely sell and take profit at any bump in prices from an influx of new users.

Yeah that’s the positive and the negative. Doesn’t take much work whereas sorare is essentially a part time job, whereas you’re not as hooked as you can do what you did

Just watched this video a few months after is was released, and really appreciated it! It's easy to go with all the praises of a platform so really good with your balanced view. And as much as I like the platform and would love it be sustainable im afraid you are right regarding the dependence of new users. If rewards steady start to decrease I imagine a lot of people who have made profit will leave the platform. The counter to that is that prices of stocks then should be lower, and the ROI might be the same even if the prizepools are smaller.
I do still think stocks have a greater chance to become sustainable than sorare's classic game. Im at least selling most of my classic cards in sorare in favour for stocks. Thanks again for a great video!

for me it´s just another football related crypto game. I see similarities with sorare and I can see the short-term success but I believe people will just hold their stocks and the cash balance will slowly shrink. I mean, it´s just football players as stocks and holding stocks is better because you don´t lose money on the fees. I learned a key sentence about stocks, which basically says that the trader is the dumb one compared to the holder as he is losing his returns on fees. great video and important to see it from a more critical angle

I really appreciate this type of content from someone with professional experience. I think the reason so many Sorare managers like it is the low maintenance compared to the huge investment of time Sorare requires.
