I am shopping for relo here as a digital nomad + retired reservist from Tenn. One of the biggest reasons is the cycling scene I heard.. not just the loop I been reading about, but also the frequency of group rides, amount of routes, hill climbs, warm winter season, etc, and some pros even moved here to train. Location wise, it's also cool to be close to the Mexico, then 5-6 hours to CA, Vegas, Grand Canyon, etc. Cost of living looks reasonable, and since DM AFB is there, I can also take advantage of their commissary for groceries. Another bonus, I love eat pho and Thai food and I see there are plenty there on the map. The thing I am concerned is the hot summer... i wonder if it's easy to airbnb out your house during those hot summer months..
OH NOOOOO. I am so sorry!!!! Do you have windshield coverage now so you can get it replaced for "free"? it's almost a necessity!! did you get it from the highway?
You are entirely right about getting a loan for solar. But the other option not mentioned in the video is to pay for solar out of pocket. I did that and it has been great.
Great point!! Yes, if one can pay for solar out of pocket, THAT'S the way to go. Only THEN does it increase the value of the property. Thanks for your comment. How many panels did you get, and do you recommend the company?
Great video! I just moved to Tucson and agree 100% with your review. Very honest and spot on! Excellent review on Solar as well. When we sold our home in California had solar! So glad you enjoyed it! How are you enjoying Corona de Tucson? Are there any other topics you'd like to hear about OR wish YOU knew before moving here? I'd love to make a video on them.
Depends on what you're talking about because when you go to a grocery store you can use coupons and their apps to save a bunch of money which then would offset the cost of anything else and then you'd be able to actually pick your own groceries. The cost of living in Tucson has doubled after covid and it's because people didn't stop it from happening we don't have any bills or laws being put in place or being voted on to stop the rise of rent cost and electricity cost and utility cost. There is no way that you should go from paying $500 to almost $1,000 for a one bedroom as if this is Phoenix. What they are trying to do is make a regular kind of rent for major cities but Tucson is not that kind of major city. Phoenix is that city, but even their rent used to be like 1100 for a two-bedroom and now it's like 1900 or over $2,200 because people moved from California and States like that to places like Arizona and they're used to paying way more so they're comfortable paying these new higher rates which then controls a society that they barely moved into but pushed the rates up almost double. Meanwhile the pay hasn't gone up except what was planned when they voted for the rise.
Thanks for the video!...my mom moved to Tucson 6 years ago, and im OVER the Boston weather and am thinking ahout possibly moving there. I had NO CLUE how insane the electricity bills are! DAMN...but rent sounds great! (Small 1 bedroom here starts at 3K)
Boston is very expensive!! How much are you seeing out there for electric bills in the summer/winter? Oh yeah you can get a LOT for $3k/mo in rent (and mortgage) down here. Are you able to work your job remotely, so as to keep your higher paying Boston job while moving out to this lower cost of living area?

When people say it is less expensive to live in Tucson I laugh unless they are moving from California. Then yeah it's less expensive then. The housing costs or rent is definitely lower than other places. Water and power are way more expensive in Tucson. Flying in and out of Tucson is way more expensive. Auto insurance is through the roof. And another hidden gem is the vehicle registration. Say in Colorado or Utah your registration is 150 bucks per year. Well it'll be around 350 in Arizona! Plus the wear on your vehicle from the poorly maintained roads. Plus weird things happen in Tucson. Hard to explain in a comment on TH-cam but something will happen to your car and you'll wind up paying for it because the other person will run or not have insurance. That's if you have a car after the incident, car theft is a big thing in Tucson. Or just people throwing rocks and smashing your windshield for no reason while you are watching a movie at a theater.
Our auto insurance dropped $900 per 6 months when we came back here from Florida. The home insurance and property taxes are lower here. Food is slightly cheaper here. Gas is pricier here, but not by much. There are no sharks or jellyfish in my pool, and the air is dryer. My clothes dry in one cycle, vs Florida summers turning it back on two or three times. All things considered, I'm glad we moved back for many reasons, and the money saved and better ability to earn allows me to visit Florida when I want without committing.

Don’t move to Tucson unless you have to. If you’re coming hee PCS choose a place outside the county. Traffic is light on I-10 and makes for an easy commute. I go to the DM BX and commissary and it’s a quick drive. It also keeps you out of the dirty, filthy city known as Tucson. If you have to live in the county, try Vail otherwise it’s wiser to live on the outskirts of town. Remember this, Tucson is a very liberal city and the politics are right down there with California. Oh and stay strapped.
As far as politics are concerned, I'd much prefer Arizona or California to Florida or Missouri-at least, considering where things stand at the moment. Remember this: Jefferson City is a very Right-wing city with politics right down there with Florida.

BUT, SOMEHOW I did find my WIFE through a dating app here! So hope is not lost! What are your hobbies, what do you like to do?
The Swap meet is actually called the Tanque Verde Swap Meet--although it is not located on Tanque Verde road, but it used to be... hah.
El Sur 22nd and Craycroft
I appreciate your info and a lot of it seems true, but it still feels kinda negative and I was in a great mood til listening to your video. 😂
I don't sugarcoat!
I live here. It's not negative, just her truth. I appreciate her perspective. I love her energy too. She's cool. I'd have a margarita with her at Casa Del Rio. :)
@@ArtFam520 Did someone say margarita? Let's do it! Thank you for this comment!
@@LivingTucsonArizona :) my wife is the marketing director for a very large competitor of yours...maybe the largest in Tucson. It might be sus on second thought. :) However I love your channel and will continue to follow. If statuses change, you never know. You are doing great though, and people in the industry see your work. Keep grindin. :)
Yea u live in a city of gasstromey
You are so negative….you know, I-10 runs both ways. Please utilize it
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. My intention with this video was to provide a comprehensive and honest overview, which sometimes includes discussing the less positive aspects. I aim to help my clients make informed decisions about real estate.
If there were specific areas you felt were too negative, or if you have positive insights to share about the cost of Tucson, I’d love to hear them. Your input is valuable! Thank you for commenting.
Tucson is where old people and dreams come to die.
Thank you for sharing your opinions! I love hearing them.
As far as politics are concerned, I'd much prefer Arizona or California to Florida or Missouri-at least, considering where things stand at the moment. Remember this: Jefferson City is a very Right-wing city with politics right down there with Florida.
@@thomash.schwed3662 true... FL is a little crazy right now..
