Very nice sound. I love that you have ms listed for getting the performance to line up on the beat. Most legato instruments we just have to guess the offset each time.
Agree!!
The legato is insanely realistic. I have this library and it's my go-to!
The Most Inspiring String Library I Own
Incredible, I'll be buying this soon. I've loved your Cinematic Strings 2 for the last 7 or so years
One of the best purchases I’ve ever made.
Super Helpful. I had almost given up and just settled for Classic Legato mode. Now, I'm more willing to re-try the Standard and Advanced Modes.
They're also working on an update which will use a similar system to their woodwinds. It's less of a delay
Cinematic Studio Strings and Berlin Strings are the only libraries I have come across that have the most realistic sounding legato. Every other sample developer might have great sounding samples but when it comes to note transitions and legato they're sloppy and sluggish. For ~$400 you can't go wrong with CSS if you could only choose 1 library. It has the best of both worlds; a beautiful lush sound and a breeze to program realistic sounding passages.
I agree you can;t go wrong, but only if you write music that is ALL legato or all non legato. I see no solution to the fact that legato notes are shifted differently depending on their legato speed and differently from all non legato notes. The user has to move notes individually after calculating their speed!
@@burtgoldstein7864 they have their ms delays out their.
In the demo piece at the end one can see that you wrote the second violin in three parts. Assuming that the idea behind it is some kind of divisi, would you say that the library sounds realistic in terms of divisi writing? Or was "realistic orchestration" no concern in this demo?
Wow! Well this video has me sold on this library 👍.
Amazing job at having the legato transition times listed to help.
Soo infuriating in some libraries trying to guess by ear and all the different patches have different delays 🤬
I keep coming back to CSS as my go to strings...they have a sound, but respond well to EQ to mondernize them in a mix, that marcato patch is IMO the gem of the library so nimble.
I purchased this library yesterday and i'm blown away by its realism and user experience. Amazing product. Just one question, how can I change the key to activate certain things? for example in the staccato articulation there are 4 different kinds of articulations controlled by the mod wheel: Is there a way to change this? Is there a way to choose other notes in my controller to coose activate / deactivate these articulations? I want the mod wheel to be only that, a mod wheel and use only keys to choose articulations. Thank you in advance.
is there a way for us to adjust legato speed using a fader for this library? i would hate to have to hit my keyboard so hard just to get an immediate legato
Wow, sounds amazing.
Phenomenal great realism
Marcato delay offset is 50MS?? 60Ms or100MS??and the delay of Legato start not is 100MS?? 60Ms??
Is there any possibility to create some new patches that reacts with the same delay for every articulation? (For example: Fast legato with all the articulations in the same delay, -100ms. Medium legato/Art at -250 and Slow/Art at -330) This way it would be very easy for everybody that doesn't play the midi from a keyboard and uses keyswitches!
i don't understand why they say there is a natural delay between the two notes played when playing legato on strings… Anyone can enlighten me?
What about when i want to use all legato transitions to the same channel. Every legato type has its own latency. So, if i use delay compensation for the slow legato there will still be delay for the medium legatos of the channel. That said it seems impossible to use all types of legato in the same channel. The only option is to arrange notes accordingly (so you have to "manually" compensate the delay for every type of legato in the same channel (or use only one type of legato ). Any suggestions?
I have the same problem! Even worse is trying to use these strings for music that has both marcato AND legato! The demo avoids this by showing only music that is all legato, and thus fixed by sliding the whole track back a fixed number of milliseconds. Are we supposed to manually slide legato notes differently than marcato and staccato notes? And calculate slightly different slides for different speeds of legato?
@@burtgoldstein7864 all these propaganda tutorials are like this... This is why these compositions sound so idiotic and are saved just by the beautiful superficialities and sonority . So, sampling on Logic is the best way, subscribe to my channel to see my resume on mock up theory when i am ready. We have no time to be bullshitted
@@burtgoldstein7864 There are third party kontakt scripts that handle the automation for you. You can also make your own using your DAW features
@@-Meric- Exactly my point - the instrument interface creates work for the user unnecessarily. Compare Spitfire BBC orc solo violin - all the articulations are already available by keyswitch. When you have 40 instruments to program, why not build that in instead of making the composer do the leftover tech work?
@@burtgoldstein7864 Keyswitching legato types is a bad idea. It's not a UI issue it's a scripting issues they should add a quantize look ahead option.
Spitfire UI is the real abysmal one here. Every option is behind 80 knobs, button clicks, etc.
Any chance you can relink the MIDI files? Thanks!
I am amazed
Thank you for the video. I have a question please.
CSS has a natural panning and that’s good.
But what about the balance of the 5 different parts ? Has CCS been recorded in this way ? I mean, for example, that the violins II are less important that the violins I.
Has the balance been respected in the software ? Thank you.
What do you mean "less important"? they sound different because of the smaller section size. They recorded the smaller section, if that's what you're asking!
Sorry for my bad english.
I mean that the second violins are less important in number yes.
Considering that, should we record the 5 different tracks of strings at the same levels in the DAW ?
And in a natural way the balance will be respected ?
Thank you !
@@faonfaon yes, the library was created like this! you can play in all 5 tracks the same and it'll sound natural :)
@@jonamarvin6291 Thanks !
how to introduce the delay on fl studio
Hi, can you post the midi file from the end of the vídeo, thanks.
in desc.
This could be the very best strings library outhere if this features were included particularly in the legato patches ;
1: different type of vibrato with a dry/wet controls for it in order to control this amount of vibrato as needed , let's say we want vibrato right (or not) in the start or the sample ? we cant do that for now but maybe in next uptade ?
2 ; add a vibrato volume control maybe ? because the volume leap between between vib and no vib is way too pronounce !
3; different vibrato speed would be awesome in order to have more realism !
4; a run legato articulations
it's a shame because this the best sounding library outhere the room is awesome but anyway ! If this happen , then take my money !!!
A =nd please consider making uptade of the suggested features in the woodwinds an brass library too ;)
Thanks !

What CC is the sustain pedal? Trying to get the re-bow functionality
Try using a delay plugin as an insert and set it to 300ms
Euan Atkinson Unfortunately that won't be a RR and might sound machine gun
does setting the delay at -300ms, and 0 feedback not work?
I've realised I'm replying to the wrong comment on here, apologies. But the CC for sustain is generally 64
Cc64
Can you control mod and expression with cc's?
Go to MIDI school! Mod (1) and Exp (11) ARE types of CC! So the question is: can YOU control mod & exp with CCs.
@@thekeysman6760 that's not the nicest answer, even if you think the question is silly.
In CSS the mod wheel (CC1) controls "expression", while the expression control (I think CC6 or 7) doesn't do anything.
needs a runs patch that focus only on the runs
CS2 has that. So maybe this does too?
Steve Steele yo, does CineStrings 2 have a predefined runs patch that can play only in certain scales and stuff, or are they more like customisable to one’s needs, like here in CSS?
@@shashankchauhan5009 You make runs using the Marcato articulation in CSS
COOOOOL
with -300 delay many of the notes dont trigger at all for me :/
Make sure to make an empty bar at the beginning, might be some of the notes are outside of your track.
How to create this delay in Reaper ? Somebody help me! :D
try using a delay plugin set to -300, feedback of 0
I'll try, thanks.
Which parametr I should set to -300 ?

does that even work?
7:12, it does not sound like real string. slow strings are not problem, even on my 25 old roland jv880, but fast lines...
you mean: "I'll start with a piece..."...
If only it had divisi...
Still some strange artefacts on the transients. A beautiful library for sure but it's five and a half years old now. Technology has moved on and if they updated, I'd be 100% in. Still better than Spitfire by a mile.
When you say delay, you mean attack, right?
Sounds like a synth string. So much "faser" in sounds.
Do you have any background working with strings? People who write music for film, that uses Spitfire, EastWest, LA Strings, Orchetral Tools and more - Have all given this library overall positive feedback. And all you do is write idiotic comments, that clearly shows you have no idea on the subject at hand.
List some of them. Terrible play and awful sound.
What libraries do you use Mr. Hans Zimmer?
Well. CSS gets very positive feedback. And many say it even rivals the expensive alternatives such as Spitfire, Orchestral Tools etc.
I much prefer it to EW, Spitfire and 8DIO!
why do you talk?
