Mike, one of the most underrated guitarists ever! That outro was one of the most emotional guitar solos recorded live. Just simple licks but the notes said a lot.
The lyrics change nightly depending when and where they are playing. The band has no idea what Eddy is going to sing lyrically, but he makes it work every time. Incredible song.
One of the rare occasions a ‘just go with it’ version live absolutely blows the released version away. Including Eddies mumbling but changed lyrics which add so much more to the meaning of the song. Indeed, music has a powerful way of evoking emotions and connecting with listeners on a deep level. "Yellow Ledbetter" by Pearl Jam is often praised for its emotional impact. The combination of Eddie Vedder's distinctive vocals, the atmospheric guitar work by Mike McCready, and the introspective lyrics can create a poignant and heartfelt experience for many listeners. Music has a unique ability to resonate with individuals in different ways, allowing them to connect with the song's mood, lyrics, or personal associations. This version in particular sounds like a story about a young man going off to war and his brother & father saying they're not sure if they'll see him again... "I worry, he's coming home in a box or a bag." (coffin or body bag?)
Despite, Its incredible that he still gets his point across !!!
