Shai.....An orphanage is a place that children who have no parents live!! Most of the time parents have died and they do not have any family members to take them!! Has nothing to do with single mothers!! And those teens come to countries like these to volunteer their time as way to help out... Churhes and schools in the USA have these types of programs...

I personally know several persons who lived in an orphanage and one or both parents were alive but were struggling to feed all of their children so they were sent to the orphanage to live and their parents would visit when they could...so it's not always children who are parentless.

Yes Maracas is one of the beautiful beaches..but if you travelled half of an hour further you would have seen las cuevas..the best beach on that North coast...sorry you did not include the drive through the mountains to reach there...
Fun fact, as a Portuguese Guyanese. We have a lot of White Guyanese from Portugal & other places.. BUT history changed things where a lot had moved to Canada. However! As history repeats itself a lot of us are coming back. Queens = indo guyanese Brooklyn = black Guyanese & Canada is = Portuguese Guyanese but we’re all coming back! I hope that you will enjoy Guyana soon.! I know we are weird and don’t know how to talk to people but it’s just now getting exposure. You will see in the coming years.
