The best use of a warhammer historically was from horseback against enemy foot soldiers. Either straight down on the top of the helmet with the spike or in the face with the hammer as you ride past them

Joseph Hoffman I didn’t say anything about the helmet from the video. That’s a piece of a junk. I was referring to actual knights. War hammers were mostly used against armored enemies cause of their ability to pierce armor. With a proper technique and enough force the spike goes through the toughest of armors. Not to mention the bludgeoning part which has a shape tike that to cave in helmets and instead of spreading the force through the flat surface it has 4 smaller points for more damage. I am into medieval combat (not practicing but I love to watch different videos about medieval weapons, read books, etc) for quite some time now, so of course I know that this helmet is nothing more than a replica. But Tyler is not a fighter either so...

The spike on the War hammer is for armor penetration. That's why it's not super sharp, durability.
