  • On today's adventure we stop off at Jacob's Nature Park and walk the beautiful trail in Johnson City Tn. It's a nice easy trail that's not very long if you're looking for a short hike. Many hiking trails can be found in East Tennessee which is nestled close to the Great Smoky Mountains.

Mike, we make sassafras tea often. You use the roots, not the bark. With a potato peeler, peel off the outside "skin" of the roots. Break or chop the clean roots into rather small pieces; boil in a pot of water. Then strain the water into a plastic gallon milk jug or pitcher. Put more water on the roots, and boil the roots again. Then add that water to the original water in the gallon container. Add 2 cups of sugar and stir until dissolved.. Then keep boiling more water with the roots, and straining into the gallon jug. Do this unto the jog is full. Put into fridge, and later serve ice cold!! YUMMY!!! :-)

This looks like a nice area to take a walk. The trail looked easy to walk on. That was nice that they honored Jacobs memory with this park. It would really be nice in the spring and fall to walk this trail.

It was a nice little trail that most people could enjoy. Yes, great to honor Jacob.

You need to come back now that the pollinator gardens are in full bloom and the wetlands are singing their summer songs!

@@FridaysForever I also want to thank you for showing off our park. What a labor of love this park is for those of us who volunteer to keep it clean and work to make sure we have a wide variety of plants to showcase our many wildlife species.

Hey guys..... I am itchin' for a little getaway. Like a week away in nature. Maybe a couple stays in cabins for 3 or 4 nights each. Was thinking about heading up to St. Louis to see the Cardinals play a game or two and then maybe over to Lake of the Ozarks. Thing is, I am not really into water sports. So, I was thinking of exploring some more of this beautiful state of TN or maybe NC. Love East TN and places like Bryson City, NC. I love watching your videos and the places you explore. Any suggestions? I live in Nashville.

Yes, but dogs need to stay on leash. Come on down and see the wetlands alive with summer flowers, birds, butterflies and dragonflies!

Beautiful area, thanks for sharing. East Tennessee is one of the areas we are considering retiring to as we are now into our second year of retirement and wanting to move south from central Ohio. Is Mike going to do any more motovlogs? I really enjoyed the motorcycle trips.

Hey Mike! Thank you for watching and commenting. Good news about retirement!👍! I loved doing the realmotovlog channel videos. Right now I don’t have a bike but hopefully one day I can fire it back up. -Mike
