She began her journey (age 16) as a wedding singer alongside the father of Gigi Vibes' former guitarist. It's no wonder she has an extensive repertoire of songs, as they always come prepared with a folder full of options for the clients to choose from. Interestingly, these songs are also commonly found in the karaoke collections of Filipino households.
It would be awesome if CZ Media can get a hold of Gigi asap before she arrives in the US on April 2024. ( April 27, 2024 Beverly Hills, CA ) performing. She already reached out to a vocal coach on You Tube ( Vocal Lab ) based in Tennessee to perform with her on stage on this date. It would be even better if YOU can also be on stage with her performing.That would be EPIC.

I guess u should also react to her singing competition days on live television. The show is called "tawag ng tanghalan" . Eventhough she didnt make it to the finals, she still left some great performances.
filipinos loves music. i remember as a kid in a province every home would always plays music in the morning. and that they always brag or sometimes show off their stereo or radio that sounds good. and on fiesta or any events the karaoke is always present in every house.
thats how the music circles every filipino from kids to grown-ups. you will amaze kids can sing songs way old than grandmother and much better because of that karaoke.

I remember my father turning on the player while we prepare to go to school early in the morning. He loves The Beatles and Air Supply. So yeah, they pass on the songs of their generation.
Also, classics from Mariah, Whitney, and other artists back then are frequently use in singing contests up until today.
I knew about Gigi way back when she joined TNT years ago - a singing competition of a noontime show in PH. I believe she used to carry her real name before which is Gidget dela Llana, so you can check her performances too if you like. She was and still one of my faves and I’m proud with the amount of appreciation she is getting, esp from pro reactors like you.

Filipinos know A LOT of songs from different genres and different generations because we love singing karaokes at home and every generation is well represented by our singing parents,uncles, aunties, nephews, nieces, grandparents etc etc during casual gatherings.
Note : every Filipino household owns a karaoke set for literally EVERYDAY use lol

That's why she is know as "The Queen of Covers". ANY style, ANY Era and they OWN it.
When they started a few years ago during covid, Gigi and the Band were really poor and struggling to even put food on the table. Their main income as wedding singers dried up and Gigi's mum needed cancer treatment, so they worked with the guy over the road from Gigi house who had some recording equipment in his garage (Tritone Studios) and started these live streams. The whole band lived together in one house to save money and comply with Covid regulations and that's why they are so tight as a group.

And even after they were born, they sleep with a song coming from their mother (lullabye) or simply a sweet background music. . . Some says that this is what mother's do to make their child intelligent.
I think in the Philippines it comes natural to know a lot of songs it’s part of life to be singing all the time even when you’re doing the laundry or dishes and we used to collect song books and listen to the radio most of the time where the most old ballads are repeated on the daily.
Singing live on YT is their job. Though now that they're popular she gets gigs on TV or tours here and there

Many cover bands in the Philippines knows about 1k plus songs they cover
the songs she cover are a mix of materials used in different occasions: classic songs (usually from the 70's to late 90's), singing contest songs, belting songs, top 40 songs. but one thing is common-the songs she cover have beautiful melodies and stories. this song is by dianne reeves, which is a big name in jazz.
Gigi has been competing since she was a kid so she already has a repertoire at a young age. Being in an band exposed her to other genres as well as songs from the 60s to 90s, that's why she knows so many songs.

These kind of songs is always played in the philippine radio station. Which make us new generations know about those songs. Radio is still popular here and most of the songs played are 50s 60s 70s 80s thats why we're familiar. And that's also the reason she just reads the lyrics while singing.

Since i've listened to the original by diana reeves which was melodic and ballady , i'd say gg's interpretation have the sash and edginess maybe she meant it to sound that way cause shes aware that songs even those so called iconic or the classics tend to sound boring or monotonous as years and generations go by . This could be her way of making it sound interesting or amusing to any listener who may play it over and over in the years to come . I have to say that short video of yourself singing i think is the most beautiful you've done rosette , those tatts are time less too and that figure is so polished .

1) started singing at an early age (like 3 yrs old)
2) they emulate power vocalists,local and international divas
3) sings the most challenging songs in karaoke and used them as their contest or audition pieces
4) join A LOT of singing contests or become veterans of singing contests even at a young age
5) prefers LIVE singing than studio recording
