I don't know what Grubby's real name is but his videos are like happiness to me. Cured myself with chemotherapy in 2020 and came back to his videos in 2023. My dream is to play with him one time versus some computers. I'm too nervous to play against real people anymore, I just like CPUs. Thank you, friend.

This was a great game, you were winning indeed. That guy knows what he's doing. I think it really was around the time you killed his Crypt Lord that you shoulda went straight for his goldmine, as his army was smaller bc he invested way more in his expansion to begin with. But i get it. It's hard to not yearn for those extra creep camps.

with a high rating, everything is always the same. Same hero, same strategies, it's boring
12:37 That's why I keep my shadow ctrl grouped with ranged in 3, so I can bring it all back with one comand. It occasionally gets me into trouble when getting into fights with my shadow too far forward, but I'd rather have to put extra effort into pulling him back going into fights than backing out of them.

No worries. Easily win the re-match. Little "oh-oh" at the fight in your base is all. Other than that you had it all the way.
I guess going for potions is the key when you are that far ahead considering his only way to win was what he did : hero focus
I mean, he used impale to stop heros from buying from the shop, so it was already really important for him.

so if I read this game right. He had good start (delayed enemy expo), got lots of enemy creeps caps, made expo, got schreeder, vision of enemy base, protected his own expo, main base was not bullied by bugs/ghouls/skelly spam, gathered lots of gold/wood
and yet he didn't used that and just let enemy gather lots of resources and just facerolled him with mass destroyers
what went wrong? he realized that it will be mass destroy to late? hoarded his resources for too long?

@Moohy Punter yeah, but one bad fight and you lose the game so heavily despite this initial situation?
I guess, some invuls on the heros and trolls instead of bats would have been better.
he is winning in the sky and on hero levels, but losing on the ground. Maybe one or two potions to mitigate the damage from the gouls can be the counter measure.
Not pushing his lead and bad micro in the important fight and lost way too much. Was far behind after that fight and most people in vompst would have gg'd out there

To me this game proves how overpowerd ud is with this tactic vs orc. UD even lost the hero and it was clear what happend. But still no chance realy. Destroyer is the only unit that almost beats everything.

how is it so hard to defend that mass destroyer build, you knew everything and totally prepared for its coming. I feel like Orc is way too relying on BM items against UD.
No he just had bad control on his heroes and forgot invuls. Getting his SH surrounded was just a mistake on his part. Even then, after he popped SH out, if he was fast enough to heal scroll and heal with SH, SH lives there. Lossing level 3 SH with so much mana is a sin.
Also, I don't think Bats are the best play against mass Destros. Kodo with upgraded Drums + Wind Riders are better imo.
He just microd badly in the important fight, nothing about the ud army

Though I have to comment *that it could have been EVEN BETTER* if they were just A BIT less sloppy...
Just some examples:
1) Sheik having his orb on his CL... *INSTEAD of the obvious Lich...* Like... wtf ?! :P
2) 12:40 -- Grubby stupid SH loss. Scroll + Heal Wave would have not only SAVED him, but also probably won him the fight, at least enough to push Sheik back.
3) 14:05 -- more could have been done to prevent the Altar's fall. Stomps? Blade harasses ?

So you denied his expo, killed his hero, creeped his laboratory, knew way ahead what he's going to.... yet still lost... Undead - imba :P
Gotta be religious with the items when it comes to UD.
With UD one must remember that it's post-1945 and the battlefield is atomic.
The Nuke is real.
Fear the Nuke, for the Muke is nasty.
Then there's NukeSpike:
just plain broken.

Standard UD play is basically a cheese but without a counter.
Shadow is so nukeable, you have to have heal pot, mana pot, heal salve, and invul at a minimum, a mana item if you have one, a TP is good good, and you have to and be very careful of his positioning so that he can run away while nova slowed.
The game was lost when Shadow got surrounded. The hinge play was running walkers away only and not Shadow at the same time, giving the opening he needed to snap up the tasty lvl 1 healer with a swift and perfect surround-nuke combo.
That had nothing to do with ud, could have been any race grubby just had bad micro in the important fight and lost
UD still had the expo faster and Grubby lost two heroes when UD was pushing in his base, which is not a balance issue. Up to this point Grubby (orc) was on top of things.
Should have avoided confrontation until you had like 3 more bat riders. GG
