I use Torque Pro to monitor the DPF level in my Hilux, it’s one of the hundreds of sensors you can scan. I added a few custom PID codes to watch the auto converter and pan temps of the transmission.
i got myself one of these but have ended up going to a scan gauge 3. i just found my iphone didnt like working on both the odb2 and carplay at the same time. now i have both and ended up mounting to the pillar using a scrub king mount

Hi Adam, got all the gear you recommend, set up the screen just like you have done. My question is how do I find out what parameters I need to set each sensor too( highs and lows)? Yeah I've been trying to find something from isuzu to specifiy this but no go so far. If it helps, I've got both my trans and coolant set at 100 as you should really start backing off once off this

I purchased a mid range mini tablet that i use just for this and so i can still use phone etc through the stereo. Is there anyway we can find a list of what is considered normal values so then we can see if things like boost, fuel pressures etc are low or high readings. Thanks Adam 👍🏻
Great video! Trying this method but what we have is a wired elm327 not the wireless. Im just wondering if you know how to connect it so that the car scanner will talk to the car? I’ve tried tinkering around it theres two options via wifi or bluetooth but i cant seem to find the elm327 obd2 on both even if the phone and car is already connected tru the wired obd2. Hoping you know something about it. Thank you
Very insightful video! We have a DMAX as well and were about to tow a big boat interstate. We want to be able to check the ATF Temp by ourselves, we have the torque app pro at the moment but we got no luck with knowing the right codes to add a PIDS for the ATF temp. In car scanner pro, will you be able to read the transmission temp right away or is it same with the torque app that you need to input some codes to add the ATF temp? Just bought myself one of the recommended OBD2 ones below for TF bt50, mainly wanting trans temps. When I select TCM 1 or 2 I don't get any data. Did you have to do anything else to get the data ? Wondering if because it's the eBay one it doesn't recognise, or maybe the Bt don't have that temp sensor
Adam, have you found a scanner for Isuzu Dmax's that can do the DPF resets and forced regeneration etc yet? I have been searching for ages. I have had no issues in the nearly 3 years I have had mine. Actually no issues at all. Touch wood. Just be nice to know if it does happen in the middle of TimBuckToo you can do something. Hope your good mate.
Bloody hell sorry mate missed this! No I haven't, I beleive you need the big scanner tool that dealers have to do this. I haven't had any issues either so far, I think lots and lots of short runs obviously won't be great but if the light triggers and people actually do take it for a spin on the highway till it's out I would think that solves 99% of the issues
Good timing. I've been using car scanner pro as I find it picks up more sensors than torque. However, when it's running, android auto grinds to a halt on my phone/head unit. At least it seems to be related. I think I've just reached the limit of the handset as it does get pretty hot. Might need to use a separate handset for each task. FLM
@@VideoShowMeHow I have a OnePlus 8T which is a couple of years old now. I presume it's related to the multitasking as it only seems to be a problem when running car scanner. I will report back once I've done more testing, but I do love being able to keep an eye on temps etc

Hey Paul, I had the same problem. (2022 XT) It's all in the "Connection Profile". Open the app, Go settings...Connection Profile, scroll down to Isuzu. Then hold or double tap Isuzu and you'll come up with a couple of model options. Pick the D-Max Gen 3 and the transmission temps will be available.
@@mustangdude11 Juat had a look at the settings and definitely have the gen 3 dmax ticked. Even deeper on the settings it wont list the transmission. Its like its not fitted

Hi mate from what I understand only the android head units can use the app directly from the source. The Kenwood's have a screen mirroring function which would work I'm sure the alpines would as well which could be an option? Also i did see somewhere someone putting a PID code for trans temp with the torque pro not sure if it is possible or not?

Another great video Adam. Fortunately, this one didn't tempt me to buy a new expensive farnarkle! I've been using Car Scanner Pro (Apple) for a while but cannot locate the TCM ATF in the sensor list. Is that a special addition only on Android? Or did you create a special PID?

If you watch the video from 4:48 I show the 'Car Scanner' app, this has the trans temp PID etc all built in, you can just select like any other sensor and display how you want This is the app I run now.

yep, pretty well exactly the same way, only issue is I think toyota only started moving to the obd2 standard from 1996, so pre that you may not have a port :( It will look the same, try the fuse box in foot well and engine bay to see if there's one there
I have downloaded the ELM OBD2 and it doesn't come up with a charge. Still disappointed with the "free" functionality. additional charges for apps with extended capabilities. (+$20 a month is quite a lot.) Be aware of the adaptor , unacceptable restocking fees apply. In fact the actual physical products is fine, it is the software that need to be bought.

Yeah I used torque for ages, but no trans temp for the dmax :( Car scanner updated to include it so I switched :)
I use car scanner too. But it picks up two ATF Temps 1 and 2. And Temp too fluctuate more frequently than Temp 1. Do you get the same?@@VideoShowMeHow

Does it show in the list? A few people have commented, I think you might need the pro version of the app (is a couple bucks)

Yeah I've tried all sorts of PID codes since I got my dmax but none worked. Must be a new one I'd say

That's your TPMS light, you should be able to reset this yes

Hmm unsure don't have an apple device to test with. Maybe uninstall reinstall to see if it appears as was in the latest update?

Why do you say that the OBD port is "literally" under the driver's seat? It is really "literally" under the dash.

Hello. Do you know if there is an option to change/set up a clock time in the car? I removed the stock radio from my car and putted in a chines one, and i need to set up correct time now
