    The magnetic charging is nice. I’ve had charging ports on different devices wear out due to numerous charging. No chance of that happening with magnetic charging system.

    it would be cool if they combined the v1 and v2. v3 should have laser/uv/flashlight but with a class 2 laser instead of class 1

    That’s pretty cool. Only reason I use a UV light/lamp is when using solder mask to protect PCBs when microsoldering etc…..
    Depending on the price and if this would work well for solder mask, might be an option for some ppl; b/c some good UV lamps for soldering and UV activated adhesive (LOCO) can be pricey depending on brands and width of “light beam”.
    Thx for sharing, as always show us the cool awesome toys😉
    Cheers✌🏻

    Great demo. Would be interested in the actual wavelength(s) if you get a chance!

    The Nitecore TIKI UV has 1000mW of power in a body less than half the size!
    That too at $30!

    The frisbee??? That you used to test uv, is that for sale someplace?

    Is the newer pocket clip more secure? I today as of making this comment just received a replacement for the the arkfield with the laser ( Gen 1? Model 1?) Due to the one i got a week prior sticking to some metal pulling itself out of my pocket and going out the door on a pallet never to be seen again
    Im quite irritated that my fairly expensive flashlight almost literally walked out of my pocket and ran off and im very curious as to if the newer clip performs better if so i can forsee buying one doing the old switcharoo and giving someone a very nice flashlight featuring UV and a meh pocket clip

    I'm interested in a UV light so that I can suss out where cats and dogs have peed. Is this the right wavelength to see that?

    Great review as always, thank you. QQ, Could you purify water with this?

      No. I’d suggest a Steripen for that specific job.

    I love my Olight stuff, but the magnetic charging, to me, is a huge downside. Not a fan of having to carry that cable around with me.

    • @heybabycometobutthead
      @heybabycometobutthead ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why would you carry it around? keep one on your bedside table, and one glued to your dash in the car, where else would your need one?

      I hear you. That’s always on my feedback list to Olight.

    I have a Question: so they slimmed dow the charging potion of the Lamp.
    Has this made the magnet weaker and is the magnet still strong enough to hold the lamp overhead?

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seems still strong enough for most uses. Neither one held up to any bumps in my testing.

    Question: Do the beads and frisbee go back ot their natural color/state after a bit, or are they permanently changed from the U.V.?

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  ปีที่แล้ว

      They go back to a pale white in about five minutes or less. Pretty cool. You can buy the beads here: amzn.to/3Fl0s6E

  • @djfunkychicken
    @djfunkychicken ปีที่แล้ว

    Out of curiosity what length of time from what sort of distance would you get noticeable eye damage if you had the beam in your eyesight??

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The safest answer is instantaneous damage at any distance. The UV is intense and concentrated so other factors would be if one was wearing glasses (most block UV) the size of the iris (in bright or dark ambient light), and if the eye was focused on the beam or diffused. Dangers are blindness, cataracts, retinal damage both temporary and permanent, and cancer. That said, glancing at the beam, while not safe, will hopefully not cause any longterm damage.

      @@lastbesttool Thanks for relying.. I wasn't aware of UV light levels and their appearance giving such little visible light. Thanks again for the lesson!

    Any reason why my comments get deleted?

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only reason I delete comments is it feels like trolling, adds nothing constructive to the discussion, threatens me or another commenter, contains excessive swear words, insults someone, or makes gross generalizations about a country or person. The amount of trolling comments on my channel is significant, and takes about as much time to manage as it does to produce videos. I am quick to delete the comment if the comment vibe strikes me as negative, insidious, mean, or racist/sexist. This is a family friendly channel and many new comers forget to wipe their feet before strolling into my house like they own the place. I appreciate your understanding.

      @@lastbesttool That's hardly the intent. My apologies if it came out as such.
      My intent is to purely put the fact out there.
      Perhaps it may help someone in the market for a powerful, true UV flashlight.
      As much as I find your videos to be extremely useful, I do not hesitate to add to that pool of awareness/knowledge when I can.

    Looks to be a 365nm.

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  ปีที่แล้ว

      A quick google academic yielded this: UV-A (320-400 nm) and UV-B (280-320nm) light causes oxidation of proteins and lipids causing cell death. Broad band UV lamps have also been shown to inhibit photo-reactivation, the process that can result in self-repair of damaged microbes.

    Would the UV from this kill bacteria and viruses on your skin?

    • @lastbesttool
      @lastbesttool  ปีที่แล้ว

      I cannot come up without a reason why it wouldn’t.

    • @aidensmobile614
      @aidensmobile614 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lastbesttool Nope. This torch emits in the UV-B spectrum, not UV-C which is the ionising part used for sterilisation. No way it would kill viruses (not that it should be going anywhere near your skin with a power output of 0.5 W).
