    You are an amazing teacher, it was easy to watch and even easier to learn. I am a professional cosmetologist for 25+ years and you broke that braid down in under 5 minutes!! It took my instructor in cosmetology school an entire week Monday-Friday 5* 8hour days; to completely confuse all of us before we just lied and said we got it!! When really we didn't. I just learned 3 different applications from THIS TUTORIAL and I wasn't at all confused, and now I won't forget it, so thank you!!

    I've been doing some knots from a book but the pictures are so small I fail so I'm doing well with stop vid and slow mo. I really like the right over left, right over left, left over right center two of the first method. A very simple explanation. I'll see about the other two ways to see if there is a similar easy plaiting mantra. Very cool, I tied my rope over a belaying pin to anchor them on my desk and completed all three, the under over under from the left and fishtail right over one, left over two, cool. Very nice close up display with no confusion (as I had with my encyclopedia of knots)

I watched 2 other videos on the first braid before finding yours and I just couldn’t catch on until this video, so thank you again. If I had any suggestions, it would be to maybe use two colours… firstly it would help when following along and secondly it would allow us to see how it would turn out if we wanted to use more colours ourselves. 😀

    Perfect video for what I need to braid. I'm making a shoulder strap for my cane, for when I need both hands I can sling my cane to my back. And when using the cane have the thin strap laying along the length of the cane, out of the way.
    At first I folded up a small bunch of the each of the cords I'm using for each strand. Then noticed the bundles would get caught on each other. So, now I'm looking for short plastic tubes (like cigar tubes) to put the bundles into so they can flip around each other while braiding and not get hung up. The cap on the cigar tubes can be cut partially to hold the cord, yet pull it out with light tension. I'll edit this comment if i make changes to the "plan."
    Thanks again for the braid options.
    edit- It works. I drilled holes in the caps of the tubes so the cord I'm using gets a little friction. Fed my cord through the hole and filled the tube with as much as would fit in. I then put tape on each tube with a number to keep track of which belonged to which pair for braiding. If the hole was too big, I was planning to use contact cement to hold a pair of hook&loop 1/2" wide strips along opposite sides of the tube, extending off the tube an inch. Put the cord between the strips and squeeze for tension. Haven't needed to do that yet.

      Antonie Ziegler I did this with 15ft cables. I let them hang down the side of my stairs and braided with everything hanging vertically. If you have this option, it'll help to keep the unbranded part untangled.

    • @GrayWonders

      I usually find it’s easier to braid hair when it is wet. If you still have a lot of trouble with this braid on hair, there might be other videos on here of people doing it with hair instead of rope which might be helpful for you. :)

    • @lisagd22
      @lisagd22 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. Wet/damp hair sticks together more, so it's easier to manipulate. My hair is straight and fine, and it's hard to get it to cooperate when it's dry.
