Mateo, good video. I'm turning 66 years old on February 7 and I still like to go solo camping. But I can't be jumping up and down off of my Taco like when I was younger. I tent on the ground and I Bush craft same as you. I enjoy that solitude its good for your inner soul. Be safe friend.
The pure silence of this vlog was really calming and at the same time exciting to watch. It just gives you that camping relaxing vibe and taking nature with you and just rolling with it. Looking forward to more of this! With breakfast next time and coffee!
Mateo! For the love of god don’t bury your knife in the dirt, and use the back side of your knife on the feral rod. Love your videos. That’s one of our favorite spots. Very cool!!!!!!!!!
I remember when I was in the scouts we camped in the winter.. the food tastes that much better when you are freezing cold all day and cook around a campfire. And nobody wanted to get out of their sleeping bags in the morning.
This video is perhaps the best example, intentional or not, of something that overlanding type videos on TH-cam struggle with, and that's that balance of what to feature. To me this video succeeds wildly because it lets the experience shine through, rather than over featuring the gear or even the film maker. I watch to see the land and the sites first and foremost. Next, I'm naturally curious about the gear it took to get there. And last of all, I'm just not interested in talking heads. A great many of these videos get this all backwards. You nailed this one.
Very cool. May I recommend that you bring a flat "round" to chop your wood on so that you don't damage you axe head? Would also be a great place to stick your field knife rather than the gritty soil.
I love your videos and what you do. The overlanding, the camping, the trails, and the expeditions you go on. I have always wanted to just get out and explore. Get lost and camp. This video had me super hyped about getting out there🤙🏽
Nice Video Mateo! I felt like I was camping with you. Thanks for letting your audience have a peak at how you camp. I like your style brother! I am newer to Overlanding in my GX470 with a lift. But I have a ton of camping knowledge and experience. I like your channel and I'm always entertained on your video adventures. Long live the Toyotas!
Great video just one suggestion. Use the spine of your knife to strike the ferro rod. Save the edge for when you need it. Either take a file and put a 90 degree edge on the spine or buy something like an LT Wright knife that already has it done for you. Just trying to save you some trouble and time touching up the edge on your knife.
Watched this video twice in a row. I've been following you since I got my Taco two years ago.. not once have I felt this close to you. This was a personal one. Do you, be true, red white and blue.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm pushing to go on a solo road trip later this year once I save up enough money! "I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order." ~John Burroughs~
FYI. Do this to look more manly next time you split that wood, set your axe head on top of your piece of wood to split, then use another piece of wood to smack the back of your axe. Then you don’t have to bury each piece of wood! Nice video, makes me wanna spice up my taco.
OUTSTANDING! That had to be one of if not the best video I’ve seen on TH-cam yet. I found your channel because I just ordered a 2022 Tacoma and am having it built to my specs. You have one awesome channel here
Nice video , but you need to up your gear . I have flood lights around my truck that i put up , no need for the small head lamp. And when I’m done eating make myself a nice coffee en then I turn off the lights and watch the bush TV
Great video. But Sean with The Story To Till Now has you beat. He has some soft music playing in the background that only adds to the video and the place he goes to, near a large river is amazing.
How did you get your annex folded up like that to make it stay put On your tent? I’ve tried everything and can’t find a way to put it up without tucking it in a few times before it’s put away?
Hey Bro, awesome video! I'll be honest though, for me it was camping in 10 minutes because I played it at 2x speed. 😁 Small increase in entertainment also. Hehe
Great video, must have been nice and calming. Just a quick pointer get the pan hot next time then put your fish on. You will see the difference… keep it up been following you for a year now. Great video as always!!
All that stuff in that truck and no lighters to light the fire!!?? LOL I've never seen anyone eat skin of the Salmon before, at least it was burnt to shit. LOL

Happy Birthday tomorrow from a Tacoma owner.

Sounds like a plan!

That’s why it’s so dull😂
I agree!
Honestly, as an experienced camper and overlander, this was hard to watch...
Thankfully it's just a Gerber not a high end knife but still hard to watch
but who was holding the camera? lol. chill vibes though 👍
a tripod!!!!
@@sadiqsadventure8840 there’s something called a gimbal you fool. With auto track features. Example : rsc2 and raveneye.
Definitely he wasn’t solo lol

Great video. Cool to hear the sounds of the campsite without music.
I remember when I was in the scouts we camped in the winter.. the food tastes that much better when you are freezing cold all day and cook around a campfire. And nobody wanted to get out of their sleeping bags in the morning.
Please do more video like this but instead of camping is part install 🥹 I love them metal sound

Thank you so much! We’re looking forward to making more of these 🤙
Thumbs up if you agree that offroading is a therapeutic escape from the daily grind.
Like others commented. This video made me feel like I was there! I now need to go camping! Great video!!
Thanks!
You can hear the quality of latches and components on your rig. Good stuff man!
Very cool. May I recommend that you bring a flat "round" to chop your wood on so that you don't damage you axe head? Would also be a great place to stick your field knife rather than the gritty soil.
Cringed each time that axe head went into the gravel
most realistic camping video ever

I just bought a new TRD Off-Road 4x4 and ordered a Model Z ARE topper. I can't wait to go camping in SoCal.

That was one of the best videos I’ve watched/listened to in a long time! I need to try out solo camping.
😎thanks for sharing and keeping us viewers motivated!
Best episode… Great content! 👍
The wedge overlook has developed campsites with fire rings. I wondered who's garbage we had to clean up from the illegal fire ring.
Superb video Matt.. 😍😍 loved it.
Nice video , but you need to up your gear . I have flood lights around my truck that i put up , no need for the small head lamp. And when I’m done eating make myself a nice coffee en then I turn off the lights and watch the bush TV
We love the little head light tho it’s so convenient 🙌
Totally in love 😍 Amazing video! I'm getting rooftop tent soon as well.
Stay tuned we got some big things planned with cvt 👀

It was out first time trying a video like this so we’re still experimenting but thanks for the tip 🤙
solo camping rocks. thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching 🙌
Excellent video. Please do more outdoor camping adventures!!
You can tell how new you are to being outdoors😂😂never seen anyone use a hatchet with two hands😂
Theres more power that way? But aight big man one handing it 😂🤷♂️
Wow this was so fascinating to watch, such peace might have to go an adventure like this with the Taco.
Glad you enjoyed it 🔥
Just some advice, never push your knife, pull the ferro rod so you don’t break up your tender
Thanks for the tip 🤙
nice video but just a little tip for ya :D before u place fish on the pan heat up the pan first than put fish on it hahaha
😂
I want your setup!!! So noice…. What frig and frig slider is that?
The fridge is dometic and the slider is custom 🤙
Why do you use the sharp end of the knife to start the fire?
Steel is exposed on the sharp end, everywhere else is coated 🤙
Being an admin on several fb off road recovery groups I strongly discourage wheeling alone. That said, looks like a great trip.
Depends on where you go! But I agree solo recovery can be a pain in the butt
Nice camping, awesome video man.
Amazing short film gentlemen!
Bro, if you go camping in a Tacoma, with a roof tent and a refrigerator, you can use a lighter to start the fire….
Yeah but it’s not as cool though 😂
@@tacomabeast 👍😜
How did you get your annex folded up like that to make it stay put On your tent? I’ve tried everything and can’t find a way to put it up without tucking it in a few times before it’s put away?
What brand is the lightbar on the tacoma
Mateo me gusta la roof ten
I see inside the support
Especial for wind 🌬 and snow ❄️
I think 🤔
Lol dude tried to start fire with a spark, to keep it pure.. whilst rolling up to the site in a built out taco
Can’t have sh*t in detroit DAMn 😂
Hey Bro, awesome video! I'll be honest though, for me it was camping in 10 minutes because I played it at 2x speed. 😁 Small increase in entertainment also. Hehe
Thanks bro! Keep that in mind
Love these types of videos !!!! Please do more
Stay tuned 🔥
Wow Mateo did you edit your own video or you have a crew edit your video because you video quality looks like came out straight out from HBO MAX
David edits our videos!
Great video, must have been nice and calming. Just a quick pointer get the pan hot next time then put your fish on. You will see the difference… keep it up been following you for a year now. Great video as always!!
Thanks for the tip! We’ll keep that in mind 🤙

Flint and steel is cool 🤷♂️ and salmon skin is delicious you’re missing out 🔥
I also eat the skin on the fish if it’s fried.
