@Sausalito03 Lol, what are you talking about, dude? Most of the neighborhoods have now recovered more than 100% of the business they were doing pre-pandemic. The hardest hit part by the pandemic, Union Square, is at 85% retail occupancy. What "50% of businesses are closed"? Where? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's true if you go around certain corners you'll see some unsavory stuff from time to time but the right wing media will have you think all of California is dripping in human feces. SF is still beautiful.. L.A. has too many tent cities but there's still beauty to behold there as well. For the rest of CA.. it's all pretty gorgeous still. I live in a Laguna Beach and it's paradise to me.

They're a European company. The actual mall, formerly Westfield San Francisco Center, was just renamed back to San Francisco Center (the original name before Westfield bough it) and is continuing on its merry way. I was there a couple of weeks ago. The food court was absolutely packed and the stores were busy. This is a prime retail spot in the center of San Francisco. Even during the pandemic it was fairly busy.
we just moved here, true there are more issues on the streets than before but to be fair it’s the same w all big cities. SF is still beautiful and there is so much more here that you can still enjoy 😊 this city is vibrant, diverse and full of things for you to discover. come and visit, you will love it!

I was born in San Francisco and live here now. I appreciate you're video content as well as the 4k quality. That's dope. The Frisco you filmed has never left. This used to be the go to kind of San Francisco content people filmed before TH-cam and for a while on YT. Now, people want to come from far and wide to film people at rock bottom. They don't offer money,clothes,food or info for any kind of help. They then monetize their video and brag about the views they get in a video showing people at rock bottom. That is the kind of video I don't want in my video library. This video you filmed I support 100%. Very well done and thank you.
there are definitely some who want to monetize the downtrodden or just put SF down for political points, but it's also true we have a horrible drug crisis and homeless crisis. Not just SF either. It plagues many cities. SF is still beautiful but I and many locals want to see better governance around these issues.

Used to live in the bay area for 6 years, and mission dolores park was my favorite place to visit! I'm dreaming the moment I can just sit there and enjoy the sun and view. Thanks for the video friend! So glad that SF looks so lively!
I live here in Stockton and Stockton it’s only about 1 hour 35 minute drive to San Francisco the only time I drive to San Francisco it’s to watch the Golden State Warriors that’s about it after the game is over I drive back to Stockton 😃

they are doing good job showing the truth of city, how city is doing bad. we should never run from truth. city becomes city with correct discussions for people instead letting real estate do whatever that hell they want to with city rents and housing market. there are corporate criminals in city that we need to expose.
Love San Francisco.....Alcatraz Island is definitely worth checking out. Also Muir Woods is another place worth going to if you're in the area. And if you're in San Francisco, Yosemite and Lake Tahoe are not too far away if you feel like leaving the city.

who are you kidding? I visited twice a few years ago and saw a bunch of homeless and drug addicts EVERYWHERE. There was literally 1 homeless outside every storefront at 9 PM in the neighborhood where Macy's is at. The mayor of SF is about as worthless as the mayor of Los Angeles.

If you are from other state and using a rental car to go around just be more careful. Thieves target those cars. Don't keep any luggage or valuables in the car. Keep your expensive camera and phone safe too. If you land at Oakland airport stay alert.

I lived in the Bay area for a bit growing up..lived in Berkeley, Albany, Richmond, El Cerito & Oakland. Went to Martin Luther King Jr High, Berkeley High, Albany High & Lincoln High...lived right behind Stonestown Mall next to SFSU...I used to skip school in Berkeley and take BART (I lived 2 blocks from the North Berkeley BART Station) over and go to China Town and buy Bruce Lee stuff.

I remember the last time I took these walk was in 99 when I was still in HS. City was much brighter then . I dont remember a lot of vendors like see in this video. And there were more whites and Asians walking around. Now, it looks like Tijuana.😂
If all someone does is document photos and video from the Tenderloin, yeah, people are going to have a negative view of SF. When I've been in other areas of the city, I don't see the desperation, the drug use, and the homelessness, because the whole city isn't like that.

Today most of the stores and restaurants are closed and Pier 39 as well as the rest of the city are dying, a condition solely due to the WOKE DEI radical Democratic groups that rules the city, the county and the state. My family resided in San Francisco and Burlingame for 150 years coming around Cape Horn in a square-rigged sailing ship and across the plains in a covered wagon as TRUE PIONEERS. Prior to approximately 30 years ago, San Franciscans thought of themselves as sons and daughters of the city whose city crest showed a phoenix rising from a destroyed city...just as the city rose from almost complete destruction following two earthquakes, the last one in 1906. When Jeannette MacDonald sang the Song San Francisco and the 1960-1970s rock group Journey sang the song When The Lights Go Down In The City we felt a pride and joy together. My father's job moved to Chico, CA and as we watched from afar from 1969 to present day, the city that we loved slowly destroyed itself and San Franciscans regarded each other as enemies and not brothers and sisters. How sad. Perhaps someday the city will recover as it did in the past but it will require a tremendous effort on the part of it's citizens...I will hope and pray that it will occur. Take Care.

Did you venture out to other neighborhoods in the city? The tenderloin area has always been sketchy, and downtown SF isn’t as vibrant as it was a few years ago. But the rest of the city is fine.

@@4KWorldWandering no I found my way around just fine. Wasn't use to the 2016 way of starting off a video on TH-cam. But skipping ahead until I couldn't take the camera work anymore and had to go on to someone who knew what they where doing. So call of your helpers I'm good 👍🏽😊

Beautiful city lived near San Francisco my whole life until I came to South Texas the thing that stunned me in this video was the City of San Francisco allows street hustlers now to play the shell game with tourist.. Yikes.. That would of never happened 3 years ago.. Incredible city its who's running it and living in it makes it look bad.. It's starting to look like the streets of Paris with street hustlers.. Sad to see San Francisco go this direction

I remember the last time I took these walk was in 99 when I was still in HS.
City was much brighter then . I dont remember a lot of vendors like see in this video. And there were more whites and Asians walking around. Now, it looks like Tijuana.😂
it's 3rd world nowadays with lots of empty store. Even Macy's is leaving (or has already left, I'm not sure).
If all someone does is document photos and video from the Tenderloin, yeah, people are going to have a negative view of SF. When I've been in other areas of the city, I don't see the desperation, the drug use, and the homelessness, because the whole city isn't like that.
Thank you for the beautiful video of Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf as it appeared in the PAST. Today most of the stores and restaurants are closed and Pier 39 as well as the rest of the city are dying, a condition solely due to the WOKE DEI radical Democratic groups that rules the city, the county and the state. My family resided in San Francisco and Burlingame for 150 years coming around Cape Horn in a square-rigged sailing ship and across the plains in a covered wagon as TRUE PIONEERS. Prior to approximately 30 years ago, San Franciscans thought of themselves as sons and daughters of the city whose city crest showed a phoenix rising from a destroyed city...just as the city rose from almost complete destruction following two earthquakes, the last one in 1906. When Jeannette MacDonald sang the Song San Francisco and the 1960-1970s rock group Journey sang the song When The Lights Go Down In The City we felt a pride and joy together. My father's job moved to Chico, CA and as we watched from afar from 1969 to present day, the city that we loved slowly destroyed itself and San Franciscans regarded each other as enemies and not brothers and sisters. How sad. Perhaps someday the city will recover as it did in the past but it will require a tremendous effort on the part of it's citizens...I will hope and pray that it will occur. Take Care.

Did you venture out to other neighborhoods in the city? The tenderloin area has always been sketchy, and downtown SF isn’t as vibrant as it was a few years ago. But the rest of the city is fine.
