- Answering some frequently asked questions that I get while working in the field. Questions range from what music I like to answering questions on tips on improving a TH-cam channel. #farming #TH-camhelp #tillage #tractor
Great video Mike! As I comment on other channels I watch don't listen to the negative comments and I really enjoy your channel and other farming channels I watch. I think you do a great job and even though I'm older I like a lot of your music choices!!👍 😎
Thank you Dennis. I'm glad you enjoy my music choices
You're the captain of your own ship Mike. Do what you do. As a farmer myself I totally understand. I thought about You Tube. However there are so many out there and I am one that probably doesn't have the knack. I'm really not much of a talker. The equipment costs.... I'm one of those guys that puts his head down and works different I guess. I never seen to be able to talk and work at the same time.
Thanks Anthony. Sometimes its easy for me to sit and ramble like that while working and there are other things that I don't because I really need to focus on
What I find interesting about your channel is the way your family makes your farm work. Living in a rural area and having farmers in the family and specifically a dairy operation right beside me it interesting to see how different you need to go about your farming. Here it’s no-till double crop because of our milder winters. Winter wheat or triticale if you dairy. Corn usually follows after the spring harvest. Sometimes soybeans are planted but usually in rotation with corn ground. Most of our shelled corn is contracted to a large chicken company for their broiler farmers
We usually do Rye as a cover crop. We tried triticale but it didn't do good in the field we put it in. I'd like to try it on better ground. We didn't do a cover crop this past winter because the corn took so long to dry down by the time we got done chopping we were into November and had to jump right on soybeans and corn.
Love your down to earth farming videos!! So much more refreshing than most other you tubers that glam up things!! I do love your honesty on your equipment and how you and your father work for what you have. Not the wet behind the ears that complain about their parents half a million dollar tractors arent good enough for them, they just dont get the work that truly goes into it
I appreciate it Jerry. If some rich person gave me a million dollars for a tractor I would buy a bunch of 55 and 10 series tractors instead of the newer half a million dollar tractors
Great video Mike! It’s great to see farming in different parts of the country! We have good clay soil and also sandy soil and even rocks out in western Nebraska. Looks like that’s good bottom ground you’re in now!
Thank you Jennifer. Yes the last part of the video is some great river bottom ground
Great video , as a farmer I enjoy all types of music ! Strange that city folk seem to think farmers only like country music.
Some of these country music singers are more city than a lot of people that live in the city
keep doing what your dolng
Thanks Dana
Awesome job keep up the amazing work. Please pray for and my family as we lost our Dad this week due to a massive heart attack thank you we would appreciate it
Sorry to hear that Scott. Thoughts and prayers for you and for your family
Thank you Mikep7810
Good vid 👍 I watch when I can might not be straight away but I will get here as for music do what u like if others don't like it there's plenty of other channels to go watch the rest of us really enjoy your content 👍🙏that ground looks like it worked over nicely
Cheers
Thank you. Yeah I was real happy with the way the ground worked up
Kudos, Mike. It's your channel, your rules. When I read through your comments, anything that starts with "you should -, you need to -, why don't you" gets scrolled past. This is your project and it's a reflection of your life. BTW, I'm 66 and prefer Rush and hard rock to country.
Thank you Ron. I was plowing the other day and Rush came on the radio and I thought of your comment
Enjoyed your video Mike! You could always put Motley Crue Same Old Situation on some drone footage of multiple plowing or discing videos. Lol
Thank you Mark. I'll have to keep that in mind for a drone video
Mike this is just another reason why I appreciate you and your channel. Thank you
Glad you enjoy it Paul
Congratulations I watch all your videos
You do comment a lot and I appreciate them all John. Thank you
Thanks for the drone info. I need to get one to improve my editing sequences. I find myself short of interesting angles to capture shots portraying what I was working on.
I like the DJI minis. They also take up less room in the tractor cab. I would stay away from the mini 1 cause I don't care for that controller but the mini 2 or mini 3 are great drones
Great video Mike your down to earth personality and honestly makes your videos a joy to watch. I grew up on a dairy farm love the cows .Its hard to make enough money as a employee workimg on a farm these days. Look foward to more of your videos.
Thanks Joe. I'm glad you enjoy the videos
Great Video Mike, It's good to add some personal stuff to your Videos, I think most people watch you because they like you and your lifestyle, as an ex farmer 29 years ago I enjoy what you do and talk about, thanks for sharing
Thank you Tony. I'm glad you enjoy the channel
Great video Mike! I love all the tillage footage, it shows all the handwork you put into your farm!
Thank you Dylan
Excellent video, Mike, as usual.
Thank you. I really appreciate it
Great stuff as always. Cool to hear about your musical preferences 😊
Thank you Jamie
Another awesome vid! Stay safe
Thank you Gene
Some people don't understand it takes a lot to get the fields ready
It sure does
You're a good man buddy keep up the good work
Thank you Michael
Enjoy your videos and expertise
Thank you Mike
The comment section is one of the best parts about doing youtube. . .Also, no matter what music a guy picks someone is going to complain. . .
That's very true. I've seen some channels where the comment section is the only interesting part of the video! LOL You are right, you are never going to please everyone
Man that looks like that’s turning up real nice! I’ve been looking for a John Deere metal coffee mug like you got… I have a Sirius XM in my big truck… I love it. I like listening to jeff & Larry comedy roundup! great video
Thank you. It is a nice coffee mug. Check with Caz. On the back side (facing me) it says Cazenovia Equipment on it. They gave it to me when they filmed me for one of their videos. Might be able to get a good deal on it if it says Cazenovia Equipment now that they are under new ownership they might be getting rid of the old merch
"Keepin it real" just checking in and saying hello, We're all busy as can be right now, stay safe.
Thanks for checking in Richard
You do you Mike with the music don't worry about what other people say.
Thank you. I don't mind what people say. I wasn't really trying to vent about what they commented but more trying to explain why I use the music I use
Watching from Idaho I watch when I have time like you said view is a view
And I appreciate your view!
Jeez. I like watching your videos, I don't care about the music (I like everything but rap and classical!), and I totally understand when you have to switch equipment or tractors to do specific things. Not everyone (coughhorrigan😂) can afford to have a new tractor for a certain job. Keep doing what you are doing my friend!👍👍
Thanks Morgan. One of these days we will pick up another tractor. You can never have enough tractors
Hi mike p you do a good job on your farm 🚜
Thank you Amanda
You are welcome mike p
Thanks Mike!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Dan
Mike greeting from burley Idaho
Greetings Carlos. Hope all is well
It's your video, screw them!!
Thanks Dave. I wasn't really venting about people making their comments. It was more to just explain why I pick and don't pick the music when I put music in my videos
Seems the right rear tire needs some air!😊
How much does it seem like it needs?

Farm here in Nebraska and I too like my rock. Have a chance check out the band Halestrom if you haven't yet. Have a safe planting season.
I have heard Halestorm. Lizzy Hale is phenomenal. I've seen them live before
@@mikep7810 seen them 7 times,always a great show
👀🙄🐾👍Interesting video Mike sage advice
Have you ever thought about using a rotovator or power harrow rather than the discs?I have to admitt you don't look 50 LOL😂
Haha thank you Jim. I hope I don't look 50, I'm 41 right now LOL
Hi Mike, great talk and video! I will never understand why so many people think that farm teens and young farmers all listen to Country Music? We are just like our cohorts and school classmates and like all different types of music. I too like grunge and Alternative Rock. Alice in Chains was a great Band! Fellow farm and country boys making it big in rock music. So glad they made the bargain or contract after a couple successful CDs or albums they could get Jar of Flies CD/Album produced. A number of people are in shock upon disclosing my like for "Two Feet" type of music. I like your message; Just be yourself, relax, and enjoy life. Good advice where life can be so short. Regards, Bob
Thanks Bob. The fact that Alice in Chains aren't in the hall of fame yet blows my mind. Hopefully they get the call one of these days. Very sad what happened to Lane
@@mikep7810 in full agreement with you! So important to have good mental health and not caught up in all the self medication that sends a person down the addiction road. Just look all the talent we lost in a few short decades; Kurt Cobain with Nirvana, Layne Stanley with Alice in Chains, Chris Cornell with Soundgarden, and Chester Bennington with Linkin Park.
I think it’s the stereotype that as a farmer we’re supposed to listen to country music (along with wearing bib overalls). People are usually shocked when I tell them I usually listen to Thrash and Death Metal over country music. Well, I shouldn’t say that, I’m still listening to outlaw country. So when I say my playlist goes from Cannibal Corpse to Waylon Jennings, it gets a few raised eyebrows, lol.
And I agree with you on making content that YOU would want to watch. I’ve deleted more footage than I posted because, frankly, I just found it boring and I knew that it wouldn’t keep my short attention span. The analytics do help, I don’t scrutinize them, but they do give you a litmus so you can make better content (just not message another TH-camr ad nauseam about them).
Was good seeing you guys yesterday, boys enjoyed the day off, now I have to get that drone up in the air.
Glad you were able to come up. You should video the drone and do show the drone and everything then do a fly over of the farm and tell some stories of the past. That would make a good video while getting some drone practice
@@mikep7810 good idea!
Steve I’m shocked.. I thought you were a Taylor Swift fan 😮😂😂
@@tomhough3649 😂😂😂😂
No swiftie here 😂
Love the smell of that dirt!!!!
I was really happy with how things plowed up
You know buddy, you have mentioned wanting a 7810 for quite some time now, have you given any thought to reaching out to Andy and buying theres? So its little on the well done side, but most of but most of it will buff out lol. Then you could have two tractors on your farm that came from their farm. Also, that's the only thing about more and more subscribers means more and more whiny comments lol. Take it easy Mike
I didn't know he still had his sitting up there. That would be cool having another tractor that came from his farm. I do have the rops and canopy from one of his 4620s on the 3010
You left out Ronnie James Dio was from Cortland…. and you like Blind Melon 🤣🤣
How could I forget them!!
Can i considder myself as a subscriber? Thanks for the video and have a good day greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer ,ps pink floyd and led zeppelin are my favourite
I hope you consider yourself a subscriber. Ah ol' Led Zepplin. I gotta do a video and talk about them now LOL
Thanks for the reply Mike
On a 7810, would you prefer 2wd or 4wd?
Either one really
I wonder who that could be that asks you for advice because they think they should be a TH-cam superstar 🤦♂️🤣
Haha there you go putting on your inspector clouseau hat and your magnified glass! LOL
Man these complainers probably don’t have tv anymore either haha do you is the moto on the tube ain’t…
There will always be some complainers. Can't please everyone
Great video, Mike. Yep, so many people just like to bitch about every little thing. Also, pretty much all modern "country" sucks. It's turned in gutless pop music with a twangy accent. Alice in Chains!
Gotta love Alice in Chains!
