@@elitefaq914 Except Armstrong. The only script for his song is that when you’re disarmed, the lyrics disappear. When you regain the sword, lyrics return. Otherwise, any well-timed moment is just pure coincidence

Monsoon gets detonated and is left as nothing but a head, hell, Misteal has it worse. She gets the same treatment but also gets literally frozen solid and shattered along with it.
Funny how the first boss (Mistrial) gets the most brutal defeat, while Sam just gets stabbed and Armstrong just gets his heart ripped out. Probably Raiden being more merciful due to understanding their back stories? 👀

I think Raiden didn't mean kill Sam, a simple stab into the stomach like that isn't going to be enough to kill a cyborg, but Sam died from that, he looked surprised and Raiden realized that Sam barely have any cyborg enchantment.
As for Armstrong it could've been his respect towards him who accepted half of his ideology, it could also be there's no need for that since he already grabbed his heart.

When I first played this somehow "jetstream" and "monsoon" didn't tip me off about how all the bosses were named after winds and I spent the entire game wondering why one of its primary antagonists was named after elderly dementia patients

you can avoid the hyper slice part itself by running away to the side from thing that he throws.
Yeah when he does healing you have to cut his weak point with hyper slice but it doesn't seem to complicated since you need do only one slice. Yeah sometime I just mess and got punnish.

I love how Monsoon, Sam, Mistral, they all have some kind of backstory to give context to their mindset. But Sundowner? What do we know about him? Guy’s just a warmongering sociopath for no other reason than just that…which kinda makes sense, because he does basically say that all people are cruel by nature, kids especially. No real reason, just cruel for the sake of it.
Edit: Okay, so after what several other commenters have said, and subsequent research, I’ve learned that Sundowner did, indeed, have a rough background like his compatriots. My deal is that a) he’s more vicious and sadistic than them, and b) he directly sees to it that a bunch of children’s brains are warped into becoming maniacal soldiers like him. No tragic backstory can justify that.

I lowkey appreciate how sincere Sundowner's character is. Like, every other boss Raiden faces had hidden reasons or motivations for why they're there: Blade Wolf was programmed to serve Desperado, but wanted to be free, Mistral was looking for a purpose, Monsoon was nihilistic, Sam was forced to work for Desperado like Blade Wolf, even Armstrong wanted to end with the war economy to make a (twisted) world of true freedom.
Sundowner? Nah, he's there for shits and giggles. Making war for the sake of making war. Which is a contrast that doesn't displease me.
He's fucking invincible, what more do you need to know?
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is the only game where you can cut your enemies into 200 pieces and still have them able to converse with you

We all wish for that. I wish his shields would actually make him invincible or at the very least get in the way of follow up strikes so you would be reduced to doing little chipdamage until they come off. And even then Sundowners healthbar could have been tripled with how fast these numbers are dropping. At least then he would be comparably bulky to Monsoon and Armstrong.

Like how Sundowner and Mistral are using their weapons in a literal sense, Mistral uses a Polearm, a pole made of Steel arms, and Sundowner with a claymore, while having a shield that explodes one way in a specific direction, which is what actual claymore mines do.

I don’t know how so many people managed to beat him without even destroying his shields, but that’s the way to go. Also, if you think his health pool is bad, just wait until you meet Armstrong, then you’ll agree he had a tiny health pool.
@@loneassassin6112 I literally watched the first part of the fight and realised after you do the button prompt the reason why you go back into blade mode is to cut off the shields and I just fucked him up with 10% health.

It's a shame, his fight just isn't long enough, he goes down way too easily and the end of the fight with the glider part is really meh, but it's still my favourite fight

I did this battle without any rocket launchers. The helicopters were pain...
I beat him in normal, the helicopters doesn't seem to have much of an impact on my fight.
I know he's one of the easier bosses but i think his fighting style is epic. The Crab-Claw-Machetes is bizarrely clever and I love it.

Love how I struggled so much with monsoon that I had to replay the game in Easy difficulty and still found him a bit annoying to deal with to Sundowner who barely changed the expression on my face
Fighting monsoon was probably the most fun boss in mgr to me.

I love how theatrical the moments before you fight are. The way the song begins. The spotlights from the choppers showing his armor plates retract to his body. Everyone talks about RULES OF NAYTURRRREEE but this moment is so hotblooded. You might as well have had a pissed off Kamen Rider doing an angry henshin before fighting the man after he said what he said.
