Between this. And the CTSV, SRT8 300, these cars I truly love and like. You can leave them stock and other than tires and brakes you probably wouldn't know or look twice. Until you take off the mufflers. But still. I love these. I'm happy with my challenger but people see mine and expect it to be like this. But I'd love to have one of these just to try and be under the radar for a min 😂🎉🎉

LS3 is one of the best, renowned modern GM SBC engines… All of the gen III-IV LS’ were decent; I believe the LS1 had the most issues asides from lifters and rockers; up until the LS7 came out and had valve dropping issues (specific to the C6 Corvette Z06). The other lesser popular engines, like the LSA, LS6, LS9, etc. are great cars
i've always respected the chevy ss models over the years aside from the camaro, to be the most underrated sleeper models you can buy. i mean that car take all the sports trim off and and ss badge and someone at first glance would mistake it for a v6 soccer mom car as the base level model impalas lol
These cars were made in Australia by Holden ...too bad they weren't supported more..unfortunately production has now ceased ..but if you have one they are called Commodor V8ss ..I'm an Australian
Thing looks like if a ford fusion Chevy cruise and a Cadillac ctv got smashed into one car it is badass tho no doubt best Chevy Fusion Ctv I’ve ever seen
All hail the good ol' LS/LT pushrod V8 with a cross-plane crankshaft slapped with a supercharger on top. Nothing beats the sound of a cammed LS engine. GM rules.
My dad bought one of these at a police auction for 12k, it was apart of a crime scene and most of the interior was gutted 😭, he drove it for a bit but ended up taking it off his insurance, now it just sits in our barn
@JS-ch1hk you must be fun at parties. if you squint your eyes, it’s still a 4-door mid-size sedan with Chevy badges. The uninitiated would think otherwise.
@@JC-zg4xe The SS shares only side and rear glass with the G8. The SS is on the Zeta II chassis vs the Zeta underpinning the G8 and gen 5 Camaro. Virtually none of the suspension or other parts of the G8 are interchangeable with the SS due to recalibrated suspension points, updated metallurgy using lightened and strengthened alloys not used in the original Zeta. The VE Commodore and G8 were exceptional cars, but the VF and the SS are on another level.
The way the Chevy ss takes off is insane to me. It uses the same chassis as a 5th gen camaro so I'd like to know the secret. Imagine converting it to awd.
E85, CAM and headers and maybe downpours with the straight pipe at 700 is so nice would be such a fun car, apart from the good engine, they come with a faster track time on the Nurburgring ring than a GTR 🤷
Base was 45-50K new, for 99.9% of people they just ended up buying a Impala or a Malibu at the time. They are beyond nice, they actually have a parking mode where you find a spot and it’ll park for you
They didn't, because Chevy never made the car, the Chevy SS is actually a Holden SS Commodore with Chevy badges on it, it was designed, engineered and build in Australia, but because its so expensive to build cars here all the car manufactures left, including GM who owned Holden, and would close the Elizabeth factory in oct 2017, and so stop producing the car, and then a few years later in 2020, GM would kill off Holden and leave Australia and new Zealand :(
They're cool and all, but I think the look is good for a sleeper build. I'd let people think it's a Malibu. I went with SHO when choosing my daily fun sleeper car. The awd made it more useful than the ss, basically running a RWD gas hog camaro that's only good for summer months.
Man, those things are noo joke. Wish they made more of them!
The reason they didn’t make too many of them is because they were not selling how they were intended to but they’re definitely nice
@@Gmbtbone1017 they couldn't compete with Chargers. Chevy really dropped the ball on this one. Everything about this car was half assed.

They didn't market them correctly, and technically it's a Holden commodore from Australia, brought over to the states and rebadged as a chevy.
Pure heaven is what it sounds like. 🤤 Man that SS is done clean!!!
And now GM is slapping the legendary ‘SS’ badge on fully electric crossovers. What a joke! 😢
