Epic Dark Souls Music - Show Your Humanity - Jamie Ford - 2024 Remaster

It's always good to go back and apply the things you've learned to older projects. This Dark Souls EP is something that I am very proud of, and thanks to its backers, we were able to record Luke's drums in a lovely studio.
I thought it'd be nice to do a little write up of the EP here.
Track 1 - The Dark Soul (Intro)
A little play on the credits for Dark Souls 3, performed with an eBow, and a little plin plin plon for the craic. Just an ambient intro while you get yourself comfortable.
Track 2 - Champion of Ash
Using themes from Gundyrs OST, the song tells the tale of him becoming the guardian of Firelink shrine.
Track 3 - Fire For Ariandel
The Painted World of Ariandel is a wonderful part of Dark Souls 3, and Friede is one of my favourite bosses. This fast and technical song was written to reflect the difficulty in-game.
Track 4 - To Paint a World
Slave Knight Gael, on a quest to find the pigment for his lady's painting.
Epic fight, epic song. The lyrics quote lines from the game, and the orchestration mimics the original soundtrack.
Lots and lots of vocal layers here, I had to do things with my voice which I didn't think I could do!
Essentially, I wanted to practice and refine my mixing skills ahead of a massive project which is mostly demo'd out now.
