A few of the things I love is paddling in a canoe with someone who knows to be quiet when it’s time, AND doesn’t smack their paddle against the side of the canoe.
The way you just flip that little.lever on the lid on the food barrell...dude....a bear would have that off in under five seconds. No joke. They are good at manipulating things, and if they have experienced something that delivered food before ...they will remember it. Maybe tie it a few feet up the tree trunk too to make things a little more difficult for the bear . The screw-in lid is much better and safer
This may be a concern with habituated bears but we weren't in an area where that is a worry. These barrels are commonly used in even more remote areas without issue as they keep the smells contained so they do not attract animals. Definitely good to consider your environment when choosing your storage options though! Thanks for watching!
Wilderness canoeing and kayaking all over NE and Canada, we always put the wanagan quite a distance from the tent so that if bear did decide they’re hungry enough it isn’t near us.

One of the most serene places you can be is in a canoe with nothing but the sound of the boat through the water, it's pure bliss.
What a gorgeous trip.
Thank you! The Adirondacks really do provide some great scenery.
But....nice trip...enjoyed watching.
