They finally sent me a replacement and it seems to be working 100%. I did a gig with it and have been putting in some practice time. I hope they got it right this time!
Why did Rane remove the EFFECTS LOOPS?? That pee'ved me off..as I used that feature TONS with my 54. It was a real gift especially if you play live with musicians.
@8:00 sounds like Mackie when they fell apart in 2008. They had a whole DJ line and just 'poofed' zero service, no parts, no information - just a cold shoulder. At the time they even had some solid ideas that would have worked well to compete with PIoneer and Rane..but it ended abruptly. I still use one of their Firewire Phono mixers for dumping my vinyl to digital.. really fabulous pre-amps in there.
Sorry to hear of the woes you have been having, but thanks for putting your story out there. I was really close to buying Twelves since they seem a lot more convenient than turntables and Phase. After reading a lot about the issues people have with them and watching your videos, I decided against it. I'm sticking with my turntables and Phase. I hope Rane eventually sorts out your issues with the Seventy. Lastly, congrats on the RP7000mk2's. Really dope turntables.
Thanks for checking out the videos. I was hesitant to use Phase when they required RCA cables but after seeing that they are now an official Serato accessory and only use 1 USB cable I began to consider them. I finally got a set and I am very happy with them as well as the Reloops.
I recently bought the 72mk2/12mk2 bundle and though I haven't experienced the particular problems you have, I have noticed other small issues with the rig. I'm coming to DJing with a past in live sound, so I really pay attention to the quality of the sound. I've noticed that (at least on my rig) if you leave the FX buttons on (paddles disengaged), every once and a while the sound of the song is affected in weird ways, like being a little too hot. After turning the FX buttons off, the sound goes back to normal. Also, (after experimenting a little bit) I found that if you turn all the FX off and flip the FX paddle up, you can hear a very quiet, sort of frequency oscillation leak through into the headphones. There are other small things I could mention, but I think the info above makes the point I'm trying to make, and that is: If you're paying thousands of dollars for a rig, it shouldn't do a lot of the stuff that the Ranes do.
I have the Rane 12 mk2's no issues as of yet, and I also use the Denon SC5000's. I notice the counter weight on that Reloop deck, is that normal for those decks, I even noticed it on a pair of RP8000's they are great decks but it throughs me off with the calibration. Great information on the Rane 12's Sad when you spend major dollars on equipment and it doesn't hold up. One of my major gripes when I had the Denon Prime 4.
Thanks for watching the videos. The counter weight wasn't properly set in this video. That's why it looks odd. I'm using Phase now so I don't have to worry about it unless I'm using needles.
RANE. Yes I've heard about this I have a pair and although I haven't experienced that particular issue Yet! Hopefully not but since I've have them I do see issues that could really be a major problem if you're not paying close attention. Now as for those Reloops I've had my eye on them for a couple of years now thanks to the DJ Angelo set I saw. I've been pricing them and the price I believe is pretty good considering what you get in a solid turntable. I am devoted to 1200's like yourself and many other DJ's but I sincerely believe based on my research and the vast number of DJ's giving the Reloop turntables and equipment it's props I don't think anyone would go wrong with Reloop. But when I saw you standing in front of the Reloop turntables i was like I told y'all bout Reloop Lol. Anyway sorry for being so long-winded but I agree with you 200 Percent about Rane or any DJ equipment manufacturer that charges so much for their gear but then as the gear sales begin to skyrocket they make these changes that we can't see with the naked eye but those changes cause major problems and affect your performance as a dj. Rane had to totally get it right from customer service and repair to the actual engineering and manufacturing. Much love my brother-Dj. GOD KEEP YOU 🤜🏿👊🏿🙏🏿
my Rane 12 mk2s are working just fine .Im sorry you had trouble .I also have the Rane 72 mk 2 and again no probs.I did have one of the 12s sometimes stop turning while i was playing and manipulating the deck but it was just a few times and that issue has not returned. Its a shame that they didnt work out for you.
It’s hard to tell. They should release a newer version. I think there are better options available now. If you already have some turntables it would be better to invest in Phase. I sold my Twelves and got Phase. I love it.
Thanks for chiming in and confirming that it does happen. Hopefully you were able to recover pretty quickly. I know when it happened to me I was very nervous for the rest of my set.
I had that happen with some cheap decks any years ago, I was like WTF! Damn, I think all that would be enough to put me off Rane for life, they should be sending you a loaner at this point.
They eventually replaced it back in August and it has been going fine ever since. It just took about three different units to get one that worked right.
Get yourself a Pioneer mixer...S9, S7 or the S11...I have the S9 and the S11 and I've never had any issues at all. The build quality might not be like Rane but their reliability is unmatched.
I am sorry you got the wrong end of customer service from RANE. I was going to suggest you go with the new Pioneer DJM-S7 mixer which supports both Serato and Rekorbox. and it is comparable in price as to the mixer you have.
Thanks, I am looking at the S7 as a replacement. I'm going to try to get along with the Seventy and ignore the screen but if it becomes an issue I will be moving on from it.
@@logisticalstylesJust one thing to note with the S7 , the upfaders are soldered onto the logic board. Not really a good thing for a battle mixer to have non user-replaceable channel faders.
@@logisticalstyles had issues with mine after 6 months. the left fader cut out at the top of the upfader travel. I could pull it down just a bit and get clear volume. Did the same thing when i plugged in the mic. i wouldnt recommend
Regarding the rane virtual turntables... anything that I can't actually play vinyl on .. not for me. sucks that happened at a gig. if you have to think about this stuff so much and it gets in the way.. yeah trash it. I have the Audio Technica version of the REloops you have. Not bad. For playing vinyl they are noisy compared to a Technics - and bought 'matched pair' NIB - but the speed is different oustide of Quartz lock. So I had to open them and adjust them so they match. I know how to do it on a Technics..but that is usually a problem after many years of gigging with them. China stuff. Meh. Horrible resale value on this China stuff too.. you always lose money . Never on the Japanese made gear.
Your right its not about how good the product is for 99% of people, it's how about how they treat you when things go wrong, hope my 70 stays good!

Thanks so much for this extremely helpful video. I’m going to have to explore other gear like pioneer or Denon for my next gear choices
Yes, it’s a idea to as much research as possible especially for big purchases. I just try to share my experiences.

That's crazy. The quality control just isn't there anymore. I agree. These things are too expensive to have these issues.

those Relooops are really good choice.
I love them!
Informative as always Logic. 👌
Thanks bro
Yikes! I've been considering upgrading my old setup to Rane Seventy & Twelve MK2s. Now, I am going to have to reconsider.

I really wish the Twelves worked out but I am very happy with the Reloops. They are very well built.
It is a known bug with the twelves. I decided to just get phase DJ and haul my 1200s.
Smart move
you said 'screen on 72' @4:10 ... you had that mixer? I only see 70 in your videos.
Yeah, I misspoke. I meant the 70.

I'm seeing this video after a year, in 2024 is it worth getting one of these rain '70s? Or do you think they're going to release something new?
