    Love the fat Bob, great bike, awesome handling, stands out. Your review hit the nail right on the head...... think i may get the reduced reach. I'm 5' 7" and always have to adjust ever so slightly. I also Enjoyed the vid on this issue as well

      The reduced reach kit is really easy to install, and not super expensive either. If you think it will make your ride more comfortable, I'd say do it!

      Whats the approximate cost of the reduced reach?

    Yes, I love my 2013 Dyna Fat Bob too and glad a mate recommend I do. I too put a low rider single Harley seat on and it made heaps of difference leaning low into corners and help my short arse legs reach the peddles properly. I will be getting the Stage One and Stage Two upgrades done this week... she will be a classic monster soon! $6K later though.

    I have a 2011 fatbob, when I got it, it felt cramped and too tall all at the same time, I'm 5'10". I put a 1.75" rear lowering kit, a saddlemen step up seat, and 16 inch hcc jarhead bars with 2" risers, it's so much more comfortable now

      One of my favorite things about Harley's is the ability to make them your own, including how the bike fits you. Glad you go yours all situated how you want it. 🤓👍

      Cool. I like the look of the rear fender on the 2014-2017, better than than pre-2014. Sounds like you got a steal on yours. 👍🏽

    It's good to hear your 6 month review of this bike. I really prefer the looks of these older Fat Bobs compared to the new '18 model. I'm not a fan of the face mask headlight nor the upsweep pipes. To each their own, that's just me. I like the new Sport Glide and the new Fat Boy, but 20k is too steep for my budget. I'll keep looking for a low mileage, used Fat Bob at a price I can maybe afford. Enjoy your ride, it is truly a beauty, especially with the new fender. You could put one of those little round band-aids over the warning light :))

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm actually a fan of both the old and the new Fat Bobs. I didn't care for the tank paint on the '14-'17, but I did like the rear fender and dual LED tail lights. I've been able to ignore the warning light pretty well now, but I'll be trying some things in the near future to see if I can get to turn off.

    I own a 2012 Fat Bob and that red light is caused by my front brake switch. There’s a return spring pushing a small cylinder in the switch that gets cruddy with dirt. Take it apart and clean it up and grease it good. Once it’s back together the light won’t come unless it’s to warn you of a blown globe or it’s dirty again. Renew the switch gear gasket too. Love the Fat Bob 👍

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The issue was due to an open circuit because I needed a new wiring harness after I swapped out the rear fender. I've heard of the issue you're talking about, though, and have had a handful of people mention it. I appreciate the feedback. 👍🏽

    I am the same height as you. Which bike's leg reach felt the least stretch? Fat boy/Fat bob/Sport glide? Awesome reviews by the way, thanks for them.

      In order of least to most stretch (IMO) Sport Glide, Fat Boy, Fat Bob.

    Im about to bring mi iron to the dealer next week,and going for a Dyna. I'm not sure if I should go for the super glide custom, street Bob or the Fat Bob. I definitely want to test ride a 48 also.

      Wow! You've got some big decisions to make. There's a lot of differences between those four bikes. Good luck, and have fun! 🤓

      Nice. I like the rear fender and the dual taillight on the 2014-2017 Fat Bobs. If I wasn't so set on putting the chopped fender on mine, I definitely would have looked into seeing if a '14+ rear fender would have fit mine.

    Got a test ride booked for next week to ride the 2018 Street Bob. I know it's a way better bike than my 2017 48 but like you not sure i can afford it and if i did buy it there would be no money for some mods. Really want to be content with the 48 but it has so many short comings! Thank Sir

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still have yet to ride the Forty-eight! I really want to. What are your biggest gripes with it?
      The Street Bob is super fun and a pretty comfy ride, but I'd definitely want to make some changes to the stock version. Good luck, have fun, and ride safe!

    • @markhenry192
      @markhenry192 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, biggest gripe...for me my journey with HD has been a steep and expensive learning curve. I am now on my third sportster in as many years! The 48 is a great bike but has its limits, the frame is small and this makes for a bit of instability on the freeway (motorway) and the gearing is shorter and feels frantic at higher rpm. Of course the small fuel tank can be a problem too. And then there is the suspension, although improved in 2016 it is still pretty rough. At my age i feel i need a smoother more relaxed ride. Still on the fence at the moment but will see how the Street Bob test ride goes next week. Thanks again.

      Yeah, it's much worse at night, and not as bad as it seems in the video, but it's at the top of my to-do list. Peace

    I have 2009 fat bob stage 4 big bore kit, to 103, she's a beast, installed dynojet power vision and target tuner, works great, and i didn't need Harley to tune my bike.. I know how to write maps bit they will send you a basic map for your bike! Best upfrafe Ive made and she added 20 Hp just by adding system! She's at roughly 128 Hp to rear tire and 131 of torque, super fun bike, will post a good video of it. Love the bike though, handles really easily, easily modifiable, and comfortable for long rides! Great bike! Ride safe!

    You work at a university right? Go over to the Electrical engineering dept and get one of the TAs to give you a 1k ohm resistor. Find the open light circuit wire and connect it to ground via the resistor. If the idiot light is still on, remove the ground side and connect the open circuit wire to 12V. Doing one of those two things will get rid of the glaring idiot light.
    Once you find which way the open circuit wire needs to be pulled, solder the resistor accordingly.

    Do you experience much vibration at any rpm?

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Compared to the rubber mounted EVO engines I had on my previous Sportsters, I would say there is less vibration than that. But, RPM wise, I don't think it's any worse in the high rev range than it is in the lower. It's a rumbley feeling in the lower and a normal HD shake at the higher. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching!

    • @dry509
      @dry509 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      that one guy Thanks. So it sounds like there is some vibration though?

    • @thatoneguymoto
      @thatoneguymoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah, for sure. I don't think there is a Harley that doesn't have that. Even the new Milwaukee 8 engines that are counterbalanced really well are going to have some vibration.

    • @romulusmayer4619
      @romulusmayer4619 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1
