    In Chinese, I find that "if" is often omitted when it's clear from the context. For example :
    你没有钱你就不能买它 = "If you have no money, you can't buy it"
    Here, 如果 could appear at the beginning of the sentence, but usually it does not.
    For English-speaking learners, this is confusing, until we get used to it.
