    I know chances are slim, but I hope that someone at GMA shows this (and the sequel videos for this model) to Mr. Murray. I have a feeling he might appreciate it.

    A journalist during a visit to the GMA factory said to Gordon Murray 'Now that's how you make a supercar'. After viewing I say ' Now that's how you make a super model of a supercar'. Like the GMA.50 you are matching innovation by using materials & technique not seen before. The standard you set on the engine will be hard to keep up. The wait will be exciting.

    • @mokeipaint
      @mokeipaint  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I watched the GMA video. I used real 18k gold leaf because Mr. Murray said 18k gold is the best insulator. Applying gold leaf is not difficult. Pasting gold leaf is so much fun that you'll want to put it on all sorts of things.

    • @winstonfong7501
      @winstonfong7501 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, but using gold leaf & aluminium foil is very Japanese & unique in car modeling. Everyone else would just use gold & silver paint.
      This is why the T.50 is special, it uses materials & techniques not common with other supercars.

    • @mokeipaint
      @mokeipaint  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. To apply aluminum foil and gold foil neatly, just keep pressing with a brush until it is light and clean. The scene of applying aluminum foil to the motor part of the engine is shown in the membership-only video with almost no cuts. Since many of the viewers of the public videos are beginners in plastic model making, it is difficult to show the scenes of applying aluminum foil and gold foil without cutting them out.

      The source of aluminum leaf and gold leaf is Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, but due to the large M7.6 earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Ishikawa Prefecture on January 1, 2024, Japan time, houses collapsed and roads were destroyed in Ishikawa Prefecture. There was great damage, including division. Although not confirmed, it may take some time to obtain aluminum leaf and gold leaf.

      @@bobbyosborne2375 Thank you. The area where I live was shaken a little by this earthquake, but there was no damage, so there is no problem with posting videos. I've been used to earthquakes and typhoons since I was a child, but I'm really scared of big earthquakes. I have only been affected by volcanic ash once. Although it doesn't make the news, an M5 class earthquake always occurs somewhere in Japan once a month. There have been many times when I was shooting a video and had to stop due to an earthquake. The plastic models I created are stored in strong boxes to prevent them from being damaged by objects falling during an earthquake. My house is also designed to be earthquake resistant😀👍

      do you use the thinner to degrease the plastic? Is the silver applied dry to the plastic?

    • @mokeipaint
      @mokeipaint  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jeroen-i1d When applying aluminum leaf and gold leaf to plastic, use thinner for plastic models. Dilute the lacquer 10 times with thinner for plastic models and apply it to the plastic. Leave it for a few minutes and it will become sticky. When the lacquer becomes sticky, wipe it off with dust-free paper. After wiping off the Urushi, the surface of the plastic will still be sticky, so place an aluminum leaf or gold leaf on it and press it down lightly with a brush. The method of pressing down with a brush is as shown in the video.

    Outstanding work! I liked a lot the application of the aluminium/gold leaf on the plastic: do you use the ordinary aluminium foil or it is even thinner than the roll aluminium? What kind of paper (akautushi paper) do you use as "backing support" for the aluminium foil? What is the "oil-based Urushi"?
