When the rich Egyptian guy Allam bought Hull City he wanted to change the name to Hull Tigers cos he thought it was a more lucrative name and to sell shirts all over different continental zones. Hull City fans truly kicked up a fuss and the FA blocked his move and said tradition was a huge factor. Allah spit his dummy out and couldn't get out the club quickly enough and needless to say investment stopped

Leeds wore a red shirt as an away kit several times in the 60's and early 70's so we need to see the bigger picture than this can make us part of the elite.

Everyone wants Leeds utd to be in the premiership and to be challenging the so called big 6, redbull have the tools to improve us in a way that would otherwise be very difficult, I wouldn't be surprised if we see some players coming in on loan from other red bull clubs just to help get us up next season.

My greatest concern as a Leeds fan is that this is just the beginning of a full takeover by red bull. If a full takeover goes through in a few years, i would expect redbull to rebrand the club as they have done with every other club they have purchased. Red Bull Leeds United? Thats the day the club dies for me😔
Don't forget RB leipzig were previously called Markranstadt...they were in the 5th tier of german football and going nowhere with no investment. Now they are known as the city's main team RB Leipzig and are constantly in the champions league. Also Red Bull are austrian so of course they want their name associated with Salzburg/Austrian big teams. Leeds are far bigger and have a richer history, even if Red Bull take over, they're not stupid, they know the size of the fanbase which dwarfs the likes of RBL and RBS. Plus the english league wouldn't allow it. It's a great deal for Leeds...don't look a gifthorse in the mouth. Accept good change we'll still be Leeds United who plat at Elland Road and wear white/yellow/blue no matter what happens.
Joe is right here. Why did there need to be discussions with Red Bull about not changing names, not changing colours etc if they are simply a minority shareholder. Because as a minority shareholder they cannot do that anyway. Why need to discuss something which cannot happen anyway. Shows that Red Bull is more than a minority shareholder here.
Any exposure is good for the club financially. With Promotion priority we need to be able recruit as well as we can. We will always be yellow white and blue 💛🤍💙 personally dnt care if theres a redbull logo on the shirt. The shirt will still be white and the badge will still be the same. Its a sponsor. Nothing more. The red bill logo looks better than some weve had anyway.
In 1919 and effectively when Revie changed our kit I'd argue the Club changed. I'm in my 60s Revie era supporter onwards. 11 players take the field with Leeds in the title then I'm all in. Can't disagree more with some of what is said. I'll never forget Billy B or Gary Mac and that'll always be my Club as would RB Leeds with a 30yo Erling Haaland.
I have a personal grudge with redbull since my local club rivals are the New York Redbulls. As long as it's not on the kit. I'll be fine. But I do want the team to succeed.

When Leeds were formed in 1919 they wore blue & White strips. 1934 adopted blue and gold as their colours.
So you're worried about them changing the club name, stadium etc but then you worrying about why Paraag even spoke to them to way there will be no identity changes on the table? You should be happy that it's been talked about
It baffles me how anyone thinks that any Leeds fan would allow it. I get the concern, but the concerns should be settled when you realise how crazy and opinionated of a fanbase we are. We would burn the city down.
All I want, is the return of the ALL YELLOW away strip & stay with it forever going forward, hopefully everybody gets behind Paraag's vision & we get back to the PL next season

It's a brilliant move for the immediate future of Leeds United. We will all have our suspicion of what the true intentions of Red Bull are but for now it is extremely positive and should almost guarantee we go up this season and keep any players we want to keep. I trust in Paraag that he is being honest woth us and will up hold the values of the club and supporters.

For the doubters let’s keep calm for the moment. Red Bull are not our new owners just our main shirt sponsors with a small stake in the club. Might it change in a number of years? Possibly but not probably.
Don't think they've given a record breaking deal to a championship team just to keep a minority stake, it's not inevitable but it's more likely than not they'll be next in line if the 69ers bail out.
I might be misunderstanding here, but isn't the shares and the shirt sponsorship different. So the money coming in from the shirt sponsorship is purely sponsorship money, and the money from being a minority shareholder is seperate. So they may invest hugely on the sponsorship but that doesn't mean they have a huge percentage of shares etc?
Well all i can say is Red Bull are successful in all their sporting investments so even if they eventually become majority shareholder that can't be a bad thing.

Would you be happy if in future they bought us out and built a new stadium or made old stadium better but they don’t change the name but left the kit and name alone other than there sponsor? I think I would if it was only sacrifice to make us seriously competitive outfit!
Really unsure of where this leads, augustin, aaronson and kristiensen all came from rb clubs so theyve already had a huge amount of money we havent got out of the club.

I've said it before. I've supported leeds since I was 6 I'm bow 32 and we've had 3 good seasons put of all those years I would love leeds to be successful and we need big investment to be successful so I'm happy to see us doing this. Bring on the champions league 😂

imagine Max tearing a Red Bull car around Red Bull stadium would be insane publicity . Some people talk about Red Bull like they are a paedophile ring , Bloody hell there a soft drink energy company . There logos cool and will look great on the home shirt , I will be buying 2 for sure

As for assurances about what will and wont happen, there is never a cast iron guarantee. Like when jobs are guaranteed before a takeover and suddenly afterwards redundancies happen. This is where the big money aspect is there. Better to be properly financed than floundering. Time will if being fattened up is in our benefit.
Red Bull will eventually buy Leeds and won’t change our colours or brand because Leeds United F C are bigger than Red Bull energy drinks. We are a sports club. Red Bull can put a lesser brand drink they own as our shirt sponsor that as white blue yellow colours. White Red Bull.

Not a Leeds fan but my concern would be why pay a minimum of 200 mill over 3 years for a Championship currently team when alot of big clubs in the Prem are not getting that sort of deal smells fishy to me to good to be true normally means it is Red Bull Leeds on the way

Hey Joe I know you want to stoke fires and we do need to be Wary of RB but the 49ers had talks about naming rights not because they are in the minority pool but are the main sponsor. Will Farrell is not going to be on the shirt and supplying drinks. I think this is good for now. If it changes, let's go address it then.

The people who are opposed to this investment are the people who were happy to be stuck in the Championship for 16 years! We need this investment to remain competitive and to bring in the best talent possible!
If they want to make Thorp Arch bigger and want it to be Red Bull Thorp Arch if it helps us with recruiting I will be ok with that, but It will always be Elland Road, it will always be a white kit and the badge will stay the same. We will have more money I totally agree with @KevinLamb-dh7jc.
