Just think if Red Bull sponsored a different EFL club we would be so jealous, this is just what Leeds United need for our future am buzzing!
agree
Biggest shirt sponsor in EFL history, leeds fans would be sick if it was another championship club, fans of the rest will be jealous as hell
Spot on 👍
Just caught up on the show fantastic balanced comments by you and all the guests .. exciting times ahead !!
I really enjoyed this, hoping it continues. Fair and balanced.
loved the show guys. Really enjoyed the content ! MOT!!!
We have a solid foundation to build upon, imo. The concern of some over the Redbull sponsorship seems like a tempest in a teapot compared to the announcement today that Dortmund have selected a weapons manufacturer for theirs. 😆
When you put it like that Kimberley 🤣
25:00 YES LETS GO TEAM AARONSON
Brilliant show Ger, great panel, really enjoyed as always
well ger love what you do. we go again like always but we always stick together that's what it mean's to be a Leeds fan
Just heard the sad news 🗞️ Ger of the sad passing of Rob Burrow a man of courage and heart of a 🦁 Lion who showed respect to opponents and rival fans alike humble man gone at the young age of only 41years old prayers 🤲 and condolences for Robs family and friends 🫶🤝 gone never ever forgotten marching on together keep fighting 🦚🦏🇮🇨🤍💛💙🤲🫶🪽
It's the hope that kills you lol....like you guys over it and looking forward to winning the league next season 👍......MOT
The boiyz!! Listening from JFK! 🎉
WHAT UP !!!!!
Love this stuff Ger…. Here’s a thing, it’s been said that happiness is the difference between expectation and reality.
Let that land for a second then plot (a ton of) Leeds fans on that scale.
Scary right?
We don’t learn, never do we learn. We believe we have a vote, we don’t. We have an opinion but it has no teeth.
Bates swung the fans around by their ankles, he verbalised the “ if you don’t like it the F off” philosophy.
This is different league stuff. This is the billions of the 49ers and Red Bull combined.
“Put it in a note” our opinion never meant less.
I would imagine that “anywhere but here” was prevalent throughout our squad following the ignominy of a shite season culminating in relegation. Are we really going to hold players indefinitely responsible for actions taken? Hope not….. truth is, all of our most valuable learning comes from the mistakes we make.
I enjoyed your take on this. I get the points 100%. But Bates was slowly strangled out of the club, Cellino was forced out of the club. We may have a small voice, but it's a big deal to change an institution like Leeds name. I won't say colours, because white isn't our traditional colours, so that's been done before. But you'd hope the voice of the fans, the FA and this new regulator would mean we won't lose the club and its heritage. But that's not to say they won't try and do exactly this.
@@LeedsUnitedTheView mate I’m old - I watched Duncan McKenzie jump a mini on a cold foggy weekday night as a kid. I know what this club means to people….to me!
But I’m a realist, I hope I’m progressive too.
My view is this, I’d rather reign in hell than serve in heaven, so if we do eventually go back up (which we will, but I hate tempting providence) we’ll need the means to compete. We will not, ever, build those means on the pitch. I don’t want to prostitute our brand, but compromise is a valuable currency and sometimes your only one.
@SST9589 the word Paraag used all week "trade offs". What would be be willing to give away to be a success. Identity for me can't be on the table. Stadium name. Yes probably an obvious one. Kit colour change would be so hard to see. But I completely agree with you, things change, opinions change and the bar for what you'd sell your ideals out for drops. I'd be okay and would understand compromise, but not the identity.
@@LeedsUnitedTheView I agree with you, there are things about us that can’t be changed. We’re not Wimbledon being ‘marketed’ into MK Dons.
They’re not buying into a shell, they’re buying into something much deeper and way more valuable. I believe they know this.
Why Leeds? ………. Because it’s classic restoration not ‘new build’.
@@SST9589 100%
I find it quite amusing that our fans complain about a bit of red on our shirts.
Amusing because in the early 1970s we often played in red away from home.
Yeah. We've had red on the sponsor before, Packard Bell, Red kite and 32 Red, although not Red in colour.
For me Ger this is a key 🗝️ potential investor who have a lot of financial wealth the 49ers are our main backer's this investment with the 49ers 🏈 is the richest Leeds have been in our history and having Red Bull 🐂 on board bodes well for our Future the 49ers 🏈 are worth billions and they won't leave us high and dry they are with us for the long haul and Paraag is totally committed to LEEDS UNITED'S history and the club has grabbed his SOUL just like us marching on together 🦚🇮🇨🤍💛💙
Really informative and enjoyable
As you see in my You Tube icon, I love this badge.
Leeds Leeds Leeds 👊🏽
I bet Sky were buzzing with Leeds not going up.
Rubbing their hands. EFL as well.
Hi Guys just listening to the podcast a great listen 👍🏻
Couple of questions/points
Say current sponsorship deal is worth 15 mil per season and the new sponsorship is a rumoured 60 mil that's a + 45 mil increase in revenue couldn't this 45 mil be used to pay part of the 90 mil or whatever we are supposed to have hanging over our heads?
2nd point Keep Wober and hope he has a great Euros and hopefully it drums up some interest for him and we can get a better price for him.
Wish list is we keep Archie, Farke and Cresswell make up 🥰 Rodon signs and
Bamford goes and we get a creative midfielder and a decent striker and Joseph gets more time on the pitch oh and the LB + RB positions sorted
Any investment would be used for what's needed. It absolutely could help with that. But as Paraag said that's already sorted. He wants the investment to go into the squad.
You were spot in last night, you did well not to shut camera and mic off on the JJFS
very close
I didn't buy a single Red 32 shirt, not because of the red but because of the gambling.
Loan 6 no difference between a club getting rid of a player against his will and what they did. Loyalty cuts both ways, players and clubs do what's best for themselves. No difference in terms of treatment for me between Wober and Gray. I support 11 Leeds players on the pitch whether they are Diouf or Allan Clarke.
I think the top will be mint bit of red writing. it doesn't bother me one bit and with RB only more money and exposure
Aaronson needs to spend the summer with Adama Traore’s mother 😂😂. Ah lads no dissing the smilie badge - that’s the most iconic badge ever (says the 50+ supporter) 😉
Lol about traore. I think. Joseph could give him some tips..he really bulked up last summer.
We HAVE to see a more pragmatic Farke next season
Think that comes if we have a proper number 10, I love Rutter but he's not a Buendia... Summerville sold means Rutter to left winger, get a proper 10 and we will look a lot more like a farke team.
Yorkshire Rose
💟
Paraag can’t actually say Archie is special he’s not for sale but all the others are fair game! The response re Archie has to be the same as for all the other players.
Exactly. He can't just single out archie. So generic statement that could cover any player.
I will be staying a Brendan Aaronson skeptic for now. From what I understand, he hasn't done particularly well in his loan spell. How can we expect him to suddenly thrive in the Champo when it can be harder to play in than most European 1st divisions?
Just a thought. What if 49rs just watched knowing that they will buy leeds at a lower cost in the championship than primer league?
They lost the same amount in the relegation they gained in the discounted rate.
He baffles me the hate towards meslier by you tubers
I don't hate him. I've said repeatedly I think he's going to be an excellent keeper. But I think he'll leave.
Can somebody elaborate the loan thing for me.
I know the players that left had relegation clauses in their contracts so it was my understanding that if a club puts an offer in to take you on loan you have to go right? or does the player have a choice to stay?
As long as they can give 100% of the wages. Apparently only Roca and Harrison have open loan clauses now.
Ger I think the main question here is, have Red Bull joined the 49ers investment group like all the others or have they bought a % of the club from the 49ers
It appears they've joined the investment group like the rest, but jave put a significant amount into the investment pool
Exactly and this means they are not in any position to take over as things stand, the 49ers are 100% at the helm even with Red Bull in the picture, people need to understand this and stop loosing their minds. If things change then yes but not at the moment
@terrymccann6338 correct. Also 49ers enterprises also own 49ers. They haven't sold that yet. I'm nit sure why the panic Is there, i get we need to be cautious with them and keep an eye. But this could be 10-15 years down the line. And they are probably setting themselves up to Takeover in the future, but they won't be able to make that call. Not in the ownership model they have.
Ger.. IDEA do a teach in on EFL rules and regs and club needs to disclose regarding ownership. 49er Enterprizes HF is split into 2 tiers, why this is important? RedBull deal what actually is it? They are NOT a minor shareholder of Leeds United but a 2nd tier holder of the 49ers HF. Surely LUFC are miss reporting this unknown sum and where the investment is? What is the EFL statement?
I don't anyone is misreporting. The figures are rumoured and could be encompassing of the entire deal, add ons and equity. Details haven't been released. They are part of the minority pool, but have invested at the higher end of the minority pool. But still in there with Will Ferrell and Russell Crowe.
@@LeedsUnitedTheView exactly, I'd like to know the EFL disclosure rules. The RB investment is fantastic, and proves the owners are intent on building the club properly.
Get I respect your opinion massively, and I’m not necessarily against the investment, as football is becoming if you can’t beat em join em but I do think that what isn’t answered is what happens be it 5/10,years time and you’ve got Leeds promoted and have a new stadium, would you then be willing to sell to red bull. That is then where the issues could arise, not in the short medium term but long term. Thats the question that should be asked. Also there is no question should red bull wish to invest further and its accepted they will begin having a voice. That may 2/3 years down the line but but it will happen.
Also I don’t believe the figures of the sponsorship. There’s no way they’ve paid 60m towards sponsorship. If the 60m is right that a large chunk of that at least 3/4 of it will be for their stake and the 15m the sponsorship. I don’t believe it’s that either really since we were only getting 8m a year in the premier league. When you think that the value of the club was approx 200m due to relegation the rumour they’re putting in £260 over 3 years seems far fetched to me. I would be surprised if it wasn’t 20/25m for a stake in the club and 4/5m per season in the championship rising to 8/9m per if in the prem
I think the figures on sponsorship is all incompassing, sponsorship for men and woman, drinks sponsorship package and image in Elland Road, plus the equity stake. And I agree on 5-10 years. That's what I mena by short term happy, long term need to keep an eye on them.
@@LeedsUnitedTheView erm maybe but if it is £60m in my opinion that’s 60 in total no extra money coming in the following years.
For any additional money being put in next year and the year after they will have to do 1 of 2 things, sponsor extra things ie naming rights on thorp arch or b) increase their stake. The reason is they can’t just sponsor for any amount they like it has to be deemed Market value otherwise you’d be giving the Saudi’s free reign to sponsor Newcastle for £500m etc
Wait till the fixture list comes out then see if your over it. 🥴
I'm over it 🫡👌🤣
He's costing us a team spot and big money nah has to GO
Conspiracy theory 🤔 my folks
For me Ger this is ONE of the best investments if only small Red Bull 🐂 has clout and plenty of followers around the world 🌎. Can't wait until the season starts 🙏🫶On wards and Upwardshave faith in Paraag more money 🤑💰 in the 🏦 bank to spend on the team marching on together we all love Leeds keep fighting 🦚🇮🇨🤍💛💙 🫶🙏🤝
A soft drink versus all the others shirt sponsors promoting gambling
How can anyone annihilate the history of Leeds through my eyes from Eddie in the 70 Cup final to the Dallas double v the Maine Road lot. Impossible whatever RB might hypothetically do. Leaving aside fan power and UK football governance stopping a Salzburg style makeover before it gets going. Chill!
Agree
I'm Not Sure the way Things are going that the venture with Red Bull is the right Thing. I Hope i'm wrong . All this Smalltalk from marathe about loyalty and stability great Fan Base and so on. Once Leeds has grown and that's a def and we reach a billion pounds or in that Region the 49ers will sell the Club and guess who will Take over
Just not getting the red bull paranoia. Don’t care about the red thing either. Guess that’s me being a grown up. Leipzieg never had a history to be honest, Saltzburg did and that did cause outrage there.
A bit of red as a sponsor we've had before. An identity change is what we need to keep an eye on. But I can't ever see that happening.
@@LeedsUnitedTheViewto be honest, I think franchises might be the norm in a few years time. So it will be something in the end , that all clubs will have to accept.
@@lordsheogorath-bz5ti I'm not so sure. Model maybe, but FA won't let the game in England be changed that much. Especially when english football is as successful as it is right now.
@@LeedsUnitedTheView money talks Ger. And the likes of Sky would love the franchise stuff. I definitely think it’s a sad reality that will take over . Red Bull Leeds. DWP Liverpool. Manchester Andrex.
@@lordsheogorath-bz5ti it absolutely does. But you'd hope football still has some morals
Joe whose the lad in the cap no not Ger the other lad what's his TH-cam name
Joe's not on this channel mate 🤣🤣
It's Kev mate, not another leeds podcast and leeds house channels
Farke is not the man to take Leeds forward get rid now and get a manager who can take Leeds to the next level we have a abundance of young talents if we buy well with our sponsorship we can go up and stay up and take the club on and on
Come on guys there's no way we want pat bam bam he's past his sell by date get rid can't believe you wanna keep him....he'll NO
Issue with this is who buys him, he's on big wages.
When we fall into that championship status will never get back into premiership every time we get a proper player the big money clubs will just take them away n will be stuck for another 20 years the championship love us on sky coz we have the most fans around world wide n always sell out a stadium so from a buisness point of view Leeds is a goldmine Money maker if for tv it’s probably all corrupt they make money out of Leeds from tv revenue so they want Leeds in championship as long as possible but hope I can eat my words new deal money means nothing when your in championship.. only bielsa can take a middle table average team n turn it into Barca lol im still hurting Leeds proper piss me off man I love them but they make life depressing lol 😂 m o t 💛🤍💙
