I want to see this movie. This scene brought tears to my eyes. I remember when they launched Apollo 11 and everyone was just standing in this cafe watching it. Historic moment. This launch was before my time 😊

I recall the Itty Bitty Machine Co (IBM) computers back in the day when it had to be programmed with punch cards and a card reader. Boxes and boxes of cards. No such thing as a monitor. Just lines of data printed from continuous printer paper. Huge machines. Disk readers the size of washing machines. Magnetic and paper tape cartridges for storage. Certain goverment data still uses these machines for security. Its not compatible with internet access.
Now, three rooms of data is stored in the palm of the hand.

mbl---My brainiac math husband was recruited right out of college by IBM. He tells similar stories esp about how many rooms ONE computer filled. Crazy when you consider that our cell phones now have greater computing power by far!!!

hehe.. I used to make christmas wreaths out of old punch cards brought home by the box load.. then at 19, I was fixing the the punch card readers, teletypes, 9 tracks and such.. now my "phone" puts all that to shame.. Good times

These women went through hardships and never put on that ole victim role!
    Instead they became victorious!
That victim mentality stuff keeps people down!
Time to get up and stop all this Whoah is me mentality!
    Amen to this!
    God bless America ❤

They were in the confederate south when white men called black men 'boys'. You saw the tension and the disdain Kirsten's character had for Octavia. You clearly felt the rage towards Katherine by every white man in that division.
That was REAL. So plse explain what victim mentality you're referring to.
Not to mention the nasty attitude the women had to endure from the racist police officer.

CBS, CBS, CBS; It is pretty clear with the 6-3 decision on immunity and recent past court decisions our democracy is moving to a more authoritative government. I know as a business you like it when the rick gain more control.... Your employees should fear it. How far will the court rewind. Are we going to go back to early 1900's where the work week was 6 days then Sunday Worship. Where worker were expected to work like machines for 10 hour days or 40 plus hour work weeks with no overtime...... Are we going to go back to the day when the state will allow people to own other people.... Slowly rights that were accepted and ruled to be ours to have freely are not being taken by a court that leans far to the conservatives side of our masses.
What a scandal, Biden used a prompter and he did not take any questions..... Did he speak to any lies? Did he say the problem will go away by itself in a couple months,"believe me"? Did he sugar coat the decision? No, he walked away from the podium after the speech. A speech that if you asked me was short, through, to the point and covered exactly what it needed too. He let the speech do the talking and kept it pure. He did not scully it with a second attempt at the bat where the press could dilute message with other topics, he knocked it out of the park on the fist hit.
