I love fishing Cherokee NC I’ll be there in 2 weeks my best advise is cast up stream and let your bait float down to them and fish the pockets I normally limit out in about an hour every trip I make my mugshot is on the visitor center walls lol
Enjoyed your video, my brother-in-law and me were up there a year ago, never fished the area and it was tough sledding. We went in October and were not familiar with the area. With this info maybe next time out we will have better luck.
Glad I can be of help. I have another video here I will put the link, I went two weeks ago, about the time that Canadian Front moved in , it was 20 degrees in the AM, th-cam.com/video/k8_ogtydZI8/w-d-xo.html
They stock each week throughout the year. Theres a two week break period in March no fishing allowed. But yes Spring an Fall are excellent times to go avoid Summer crowds. Even winter, but it can be rough early mornings with temp.

Hey Man? Do you eat trout? What a versatile fish to eat and so many ways to cook. Not to mention it is a really healthy fish to eat…. Any catch and cooks?
Does anybody have an address that’s near here? I do all my fishing in hot springs North Carolina and anytime I go to Cherokee I can’t find any places that aren’t already full of people already fishing
You make it seem so easy. I was there last year and looking forward to taking another trip there and catching some trout. Since you are throwing 3/16, do you feel the rocks when reeling in?
Oh yea especially in shallow water you feel it, but keep reeling. Two weeks ago fished Soco Creek near the Wendys. Water is very shallow in spots, you would think trout not going to hold up much in that water level, but I caught 4 in one small area just before the bridge.
Is Big Don still living? We took a trip up this past summer and talked to his wife at the shop. She said he wasn't doing good and that they had planned to shut down. We hope he is doing better. That man is a ledgend and we never miss an opportunity to stop and chat with him.
Cherokee has two waters, catch an keep and fly rod. If you put them back in the catch and keep warden will fine you. Very good eating, Cherokee has two big hatcheries, plenty of fish.
I was fishing this exact area today and it was very nice. Caught my personal best.
Glad it work out for ya. They put in some nice trout. I got a trip Thursday to Cherokee an will make another video for November.

Where’s the spot at on minute 9 of your video?
That's below the bridge at Big Cove and Acquoni Rd.
I'm just curious, are Fall and Spring fishing that much better than Summer?

If you can fish through the weekdays, you can find open places to fish.

What kind of reel is it? I went fishing there today had no success with my set up. Going to mimic the man that makes it look easy
I use a ultralight outfit. Any will do. Most sports stores will carry a combo. Just make sure it says ultralight.
Heey man
The trout always fall off. There mouths are so soft I can meter get them to the net.
If your in catch an keep waters use the #2 Blue Fox gold. Great hooks.
Go over and tell big Don hello for me.

Absolutely a legend. We'll do be there in few weeks.
Off camera they caught a bunch of monsters, just just trying to keep it a secret
Hope to be back up to Cherokee next week, they putting in those gold trout.
All worm chunkers should go fish for catfish and leave the trout alone. Catch and release should be the law for all trout.

What if I’m hungry?
