- So once again I'm back over at Karon beach only this time it's evening time and I want to check out what sort of nightlife the area around the Centara Hotel has to offer.
This hotel is a popular hotel amongst people visiting Phuket and the Karon beach area whether it's families or couples people just seem to love the Centara hotel.
The Centara was closed due to the pandemic which had a massive impact on the local area & businesses near the hotel.
However, the reopening of the hotel, a few months back brought hope that the area directly adjacent to the hotel would see a much-needed dose of rejuvenation But has that actually happened?

For near 20 years karon has been the choice of my family and me...it looks more beautyfull than ever...march 2023 we'll surely be there again 😁

Thanks Tony for the contrast day/night. Certainly have enough choose for a stroll around. Quieter street and road would be nice for a change. Sure Karon will wake and to the place it was. I guess the service would be even more appropriated where ever you shopped or eaten.
So sad to see this, Karon still dead, unfortunately. I love Karon and it is my favourite go to place , but l enjoy the night life and there is not much there for me at the moment, from what I can see in this video.
Oh no. We were trying to decide whether to do phuket or Lipe after lanta when we're there early jan, and figure out where might be best on phuket. totally different places, but they both look equally as bleak really. Very sad for the locals. We moan like mad in the UK about cost etc right now, but honestly we don't know we're born

I see that Italian cruisine restaurant replaced Coral restaurant.
I will definitely be missing the coral restaurant as it was definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Karon. Let's hope the Italian one will be good though!
I went to Thailand 5 times in which they all were in Karon, Waterfront. Have you seen any tourists at that hotel yet?
Thanks for the tour tony. I’m staying in ao nang in dec and tempted to ride over to Phuket, after watching numerous videos I still can’t decide if it’s worth it and if it is what area to stay.
I’d like a nice beach, proper thai restaurants and some live music in the evening to enjoy with a beer, but I want to avoid the bar girl scene really.
Do you have any suggestions?
You should!phuket's definitely worth visiting if you have never before...... Kamala sounds like it would suit or may Rawai as thee a good expat community in that area but the beach in Rawai isn't the best but Nai Harns only just around the corner which is an excellent beach and of course there's Kata, Kata Noi and Karon 👍
@@thailandtony thanks Tony, I may base myself in kata for a few days and then spend some times in those towns you suggested.
Was this area much busier with tourists in August prior to Covid? Maybe it will pick up by November or December.
