Fr in my state I see underage teenagers with tattoos all the time. My state banned minors getting tattooed, even with parental consent. The tattoos usually look pretty solid though, so I guess they’re going to reputable people or going out of state. I know of stick and pokes too.
Fr what reputable artist is doing this to a 16-year-old I know teenagers with tattoos, but they’re usually on the arm, thigh or other easily hidden area
I like how Alan Watts put it “The only zen you’ll find on mountaintops is the zen you bring up there with you.” when it comes to spirituality in anything.
about the selfmade ocean tattoo: i don‘t like when ppl rave too much about traditional tattoos tbh, if that‘s what you like great, but let people be creative. tattoos are art and should be treated like such. if you don‘t like a certain art style, as messy as it may look, simply don‘t get a tat in that style and move on, it doesn‘t mean traditional is better just because you prefer it. however it really does look like a zombie bite. i have an alternative style and wouldn‘t mind a zombie bite tattoo on me, i think it actually looks cool, it just doesn’t look like the ocean at all and i‘m wondering how she will feel about it when everyone in her circle is gonna ask what that tattoo is supposed to be.
I thought it looked like a wire fence or maybe fishnets in the thumbnail lol, still looks cool to me too! edit: I also would not do something like this because of the explaining it to other people thing lol
I personally actually like the tattoo but it's because I think it looks like irriated or sickly skin and that's right up my alley. Definitely not an ocean vibe though
Omg Scentbird lady jumpscare. I feel like I should add that the reason she isn’t opening her eyes during her weird tattoo vibration rant is because she’s in a “trance”. This a tame video for her
Every single one of my tattoos is an "I know a guy" tattoo... That has become my tattoo style. That was sad when I was young but now I'm gonna just go with it and rock it. 😂 Soooo If anyone knows a guy hit me up.
20:41 Pitakim uses the yellow and white as the starting point for his korean traditional designs. They are really stunning, and his designs don't rely on white or yellow, so they look wonderful once fully healed. The best example that I've learned for white ink is: Imagine a portrait painting, where the whites of the eyes and the highlights are all full and clear white. If you put that painting in a frame, and have a piece of glass on the frame, the white is going to be "tinted" by the color of the glass. If the glass is darker, the white underneath the glass won't look fully like white.
Exactly. I swear zombie movies have used that exact execution to make the infection lol. I do wonder though if that was the actual reason, and she’s just saying it’s an ocean tattoo to get engagement (which means more money) and virality.
Naw that first tattoo really upset me. It's hideous. The artist should go to jail lol. Also that girl saying the robot tattoo didn't hurt when it was 1 inch of shading is wild
i will be honest, i kinda liked the "ocean" tat (doesn't really look like water to me but yea). I do have a thing for more experimental and abstract tats
LOVE YOUR IMPERIAL BEER T-SHIRT! When I was in the military, we docked in Golfito and enjoyed this cheap beer at their main bar. I left my unit hat to be hung over the bar. This brings back so many great memories. I have no tattoos but love them. I wish I could be covered in them but I cannot afford even a small flash. Thank you for your channel.
I don’t know if this is the same everywhere but in the uk it is illegal. It’s illegal to tattoo someone under 18 in general. Some places don’t offer hand/ face tattoos at all. Some offer them to more mature ages only eg 27+
@@alannah.millington1085it’s illegal in most US states without parental consent. And even then, it’s generally up to the tattooer whether they’ll do it or not. The artist I go to used to use white in all of her black and grey tattoos when I first started going to her, but after having a baby and going back to her 2 years later I realized she had stopped. Another artist I go to also has it in her portfolio from her older work, but she also has stopped. I think a lot of black and grey artists realized that, like you said, it only looks good for the picture then fades out. It depends on the tattoo though obviously. My friend has a wish flower tattoo with a lot white packed into grey wash that looks really good over 10 years later. However that wasn’t just highlights, it was part of the design.
arizona resident here, yellow and white ink hasnt discolored for me even after 10 years. it just has gotten a little duller. pale skin, average sun exposure
"THE ONLY TRUE TRUTH IS YOU HAVE TO BE OPEN TO NOT KNOWING THE TRUTH." Kirk, those are some of the wisest words I've ever heard put together into a sentence. I'm not kidding you, young man. I've been around awhile and I've heard some really great stuff in my life. Those words of yours could be put on the shelf of knowledge right next to Socrates or Solomon! For such a young man, you have a VERY wise way of looking at life. That's why I keep coming back to your channel to and listen to what you say about the way you see and hear and feel things. I'm 66, you're 30 something and yet I have become a much wiser woman by watching and listening to you sharing your view on the things going on in our world. ❤ Thank you🙏
I just do not understand the aesthetic of wanting that first tattoo on the hand and forearm like that. Especially as a 16 year old (born in 2007/08?? lol). I blame pop artist tattoo trends
The closest thing to a trendy tattoo I have is a rose on my wrist but everything else is definitely a bit out there even though have of what i have is just picked off the wall. I mainly get traditional or anything similar enough to the style to not stand out too much.
My tattoo artist doesn’t even have face tatts yet he’s been in the business like 17 years. His arms, hands and legs are covered. Not sure about his torso but I’m pretty sure he’s got some there. I agree, about there needing to be some give. We need to find a happy middle ground between the past and present.
16 yr oldest tattoo proves why 16 is too soon. They couldn't decide on one theme. What do bones, butterflies, smoke, and a cross have in common or what does it say? It's a hodgepodge
I am looking to get a couple white tattoos (so thanks for touching on them), but the limitations are no concern in my case because it actually works for what I want: just a couple extremely simple items (a semicolon and a spayed symbol, separately) that I ultimately just want to look like scars. (I grew up a cutter and I have a very special relationship with my scars, they tell my story, so doing these in white ink is I think the perfect way for me to do it.)
My kitsune mask tattoo isn't even a year old, it will be in 2 months, and some of the white highlights have faded a bit. And I DO NOT go in the sun. I am suuuper pale, and spend very little time outside. Some of them are still really bright, but a few spots that have highlights aren't as bright, already, compared to when I got it.
It always feel like white ink is more for the photo for Instagram then for the actual client it looks great for sometime but is tge first thing to go away
I think it was meant to be like caustic lighting, like the weird light pattern at the bottom of a pool, but they completely inverted it and inked just the highlights
A tattooer explained the white tattoos to me like this: A fresh tattoo is not only in the skin but all the way to the top of the skin. When it’s healing the skin closes again and forms a layer over the tattoo. So you’re looking through a layer of skin at your tattoo. If the color of your skin is dark, the lighter color will be almost invisible. If you have a very light skin, you probably stay out of the sun more, and you’re looking through an almost transparent layer of skin, and colors like yellow or light blue will stay more visible.
Never heard of a tattoomachine .... But man, just the idea of it sucks so hard to me. It just takes everything good, personal and individual about tattooing away. Its a shame :/
A lot of teenagers will get their hand done first cause they want their tattoos to be visible. I actually did the same at 17. It's dumb but it's what happens when you let teenagers make permanent decisions with their bodies
White pigments do have bigger particles so it makes sense that it could be more painful but I agree it’s mostly about when it’s being done. Also because it’s often on or near areas that have already been worked on.
9:46 my big question: where’s the money tree they grow? To spend that much on ink to then pay that much to have to it removed; heart breaking, mind blowing kind of thing to me. Little insane or stupid.
I understand what the ocean tat chick was going for but doing it in black makes it look like a big ol burn. With some color it would look pretty cool i think.

I actually find the ocean one really cool. Unless you are tattooing something that will not heal anything like the origional art I think it's fine to explore different styles of tattooing and personally I prefer that style to traditional tattooing. It seems to me she wasn't just following a trend and is trying to actually make art
I've been following that tattooer for a while, I really love her style. This one isn't for me personally but she does a LOT of freehand nature inspired stuff, like flowing water or droplets, I think her work is quite impressive. Personally this tattoo doesn't speak to me but I'm excited to watch how it heals on her. She's generally a great artist 🙂
My energetic soup changed when I got my first (at 54 years old). I became way more freakin' cool. People talk to me more and seem more at ease around me. All plusses in my book.
I've always wondered - does anybody ever get all white tattoos BECAUSE they fade? Like it might be fun to get a ghost and let the natural fading effect make it look even more translucent over time? Or maybe we could encourage young people to get light tattoos because they'll be easier to cover when they're older? Or using white for your gf/bf's name... Just in case? I think it'd be interesting to play around with.
As for any spirituality, my tip is instead of saying "the way it works is" or "I believe" you could go a route that is less 100% especially when talking to someone that either doesn't believe the same stuff or you don't know where they stand Just say "I like to believe" "I like to imagine" because it implies that it's not the universal truth but rather something you enjoy believing in
I don't understand how the universe works. I didn't think tattoos were mystical. Then I got memorial tattoos for my mom and dad. An American traditional swallow, and an American traditional eagle. Now I'm surrounded by swallows and I have eagles dropping out of the sky when I go out in my yard and I'm not saying they're connected, but anybody thinking about getting an important memorial tattoo, maybe don't get it with snakes or spiders just in case.

i know of a girl who got a tattoo on her 18th birthday and man… it was so botched. a massive ugly rose down her whole spine. at least she could hide it ig
Hey, Kirk. I know that you currently live in Mexico. And I know that you grew up in so cal. I've heard that your mom is from "the hood" in LA. So I'm just wondering if the brown skin suggests some Mexican heritage? 🇲🇽
I just yelled out WHAT THE FUCK when I saw that ocean tattoo if you can even call it that... jesus man some people will do anything for likes on tiktok and shit.
Lady in second video looks like she is selling that pendulum things shes talking about and you can tell she is just reading a script Love your videos ❤
Who the hell would let a 16 year old get a hand tattoo? I knew a girl in HS that had an arm tattoo. But it could be hidden. This??? Not so much
I have no idea.. I’m sure their mom was there to sign for it too because it’s Philly. Just so many sketchy things going on.
Where I’m from you can get a tattoo at 14 and where I live now a lot of people in high school have tattoos that u can’t hide
