    how high can this wall safely be built?
    like how many courses I'm guessing there will be a lot of force if you want to retain a 1m high wall with soil behind it

  • @burntrubber5689

    Nice work mate! The only thing I could think of is how are you going to get a mower up there now? Lift it every time or are you going to have a little ramp?

    • @billshowto
      @billshowto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol lucky the retaining wall is not that high. I may look into ramps or try out a robotic lawn mower👍👍👍

    Hi Bill! Thanks for another video! Question… you filled the bricks for drainage, but where do they drain out to? Just between the brick and concrete?

    Hi Bill,
    Can you explain the aggregation line section? Because it is slotted ag. line, will it pick up all the water the flows to the back of the wall? If not, is it enough to only pick up most of the water and let the rest drain to ground?
    What would happen if you just left out the ag line completely, allowing the water drain to ground? I'm just conscious of water pooling top of the concrete (or road base etc.)
    Thanks for all your videos and advice - it has helped us immensely!
    Andrew

    • @billshowto
      @billshowto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi andrew, the back section is on a slight slope and during heavy rain may cause water issues eg; pooling or over flowing into areas that I don’t want excess water going to. The blue metal will allow the water to flow freely down to the ag line ( slotted pipe) and will then redirect the water to the storm water connection.

    Looks a bit up and down lucky only two courses as the higher you go the worse it gets. Its very important that the first course is dead level which is the most time consuming part of building retaining walls but worth it in the end ,to do that on your job you should have used mortar to lay the first course as the concrete foundation is impossible to get dead level, also you should have run a string line on the back clean edge of the caps when laying them down don't rely on the rough face as they are all different as i can see the back edge is all wonky and it sticks out like dogs 🎱🎱 just giving you some helpful tips here cheers.
