A perfect laundry list of things to consider. Totally love the anamorphic look. I'm going to apply it to my work as a nature/wildlife/macro shooter looking to do video that doesn't look like everyone else's nature work. Lots of adaptation and problem solving which I love. Yeah total genre switch but that's why when I work out the kinks it's going to be beautiful and hopefully unique. Looking forward to the Caleb interview. Here's hoping shooting with the OM1 doesn't cut me off at the knees. Not reknown as video camera but I'm going to try anyway. New problems new solutions. Thanks for the boost.
What lenses are you considering? I feel like maybe those 1.33x lenses for the frame rates in video would be pretty great! I’d love to see how some of those shots turn out so please send em!
@@orange-you-later we typically do but we didn’t have access to the breaker and we needed the most lights possible PLUS tungsten don’t have as many effects and we didn’t want to rent a flicker box
My gh5 was a perfect anamorphic/open gate camera. It had 5 anamorphic modes and real 4k50 in anamorphic, 8 bit only tough but its 5 k open gate was 10 bit, then i bought gh7 and i thought it can do the same but better.. i was wrong. Gh7 has 1! Anamorphic/open gate mode! Its 5.8k only, no 4k open gate, no slomo. To me as an open gate only shooter this means gh7 is useless for me. I cant do what i could do with my gh5. Lumix put a ridiculous 4.4 k in 4.3 aspect ratio in the camera instead but it is pixel by pixel, this means it crops in a lot , this means a wide angle lense is no wide angle anymor, picture quality is diminished, more visible noise, worse low light, less booke… so this means gh7 open gate is NOT the holy grail for social media as most creators often want to include some kind of slomo in their footage . 5.8k open gate in gh7 is not really an upgrade because my gh5 could do that in 2018..
It’s 6 of one half dozen of another. Sure the GH5 and mkii had open gate up to 60 but there was only 8 bit options and of course it was a lower resolution. While the GH6 and 7 have 10 bit across the board there is those pixel to pixel crops which also is a downside. I really do wish there was full width open gate even if it was lower quality or something for stuff like this so good points but it’s not all downsides. Just depends on your use cases but yea shooting anamorphic slow motion for a few shots here definitely required some noise reduction haha
You killed this video 🔥🔥
Just watched the video. Well done. Even the fake fire came out good.
Only a handful of shots made it easy to focus on them ! Thank you!
Well done, man - the music video looks wild. The flames looked legit as well. 😎
Thankfully the ones you make in the computer aren’t nearly as hot!
Although my MacBook fan might say otherwise…

@ thank you. That is very generous, I’ll take you up on that.
Fantastic job Rhett! Looks so good and I love this brake down.
Thanks a bunch! Im really proud of how it all turned out!
Fantastic 👌
Thank you so much! I had fun making this video and working on this project!
You still own a GH7, right? Why use the GH6? Prefer the color science?
The GH7 wasn’t out yet!! Haha
That being said I may still choose the GH6 but who knows. They’re both great
Could have used tungsten lights and had practical effects 🔥
