    ADHD explains so much about loads of us! It’s a learning process to know how your brain works and then how to work with your brain or work around your brain. You’ll get the hang of it.

    As a mom of neurodivergent children (3 out of 5) I can tell you that having a diagnosis and "label" for what is going on is extremely valuable. When things begin to make sense, when we can classify them, we can respond to them with some sense of control. We can adjust our behavior to give the person the time and space and nurturing they need and we can understand that these issues are not disciplinary or coming from a place of deviant behavior. I have found the diagnoses in my life to be a blessing and not a curse as they have allowed me to see my kids with a lot more empathy and that has completely changed our relationships and dynamics. I think people are afraid of "labels" but they shouldn't be. We label our food and clothing, etc. to be able to understand their components and I think the same is true of our loved ones and selves. When we have understanding we can move forward intelligently and with compassion and grace. Good for you for going to get tested. I'm glad to see that you are feeling validated. It's a good thing.

    oh we hitting 100k next year!!! And welcome to the club of adult diagnosed ADHD lol. It was eye opening when I got my diagnosis back in June. Medication has made such an improvement in my life! I'm proud of you and what you've accomplished this year. I know it's been hard but look at all you've done!!! 2024 better watch out! :)

    My sister and i ( we are both in our early 30's) have recently self diagnosed ourselves with adhd. The appointment is bloody expensive but one day we will get the proper diagnosis.
    I don't need the "label" but being able to understand myself better is why I've looked into it so much.
    Just reading up on everything and understanding myself better has made my days so much easier.
    Knowing why my brain is the way it is and finding ways to deal with certain things has made life a lot easier.

    My goal for 2024 is to have an explosion of my new idea which is memory bears and memory pillows. So far it has taken off for Christmas gifts. But my best friend said that if I put up signs I will have orders Every week. Mainly because people want these bears and pillows but they cannot find anybody who can do it but I can.

    My son has autism and adhd in pretty much a moderate level as per psychology reports. And he’s non verbal. So there’s no expression. I don’t give him medications and he’s managing pretty well with occupational therapy coz simple exercises to keep your focus on and not getting overwhelmed is much better. As far as you can express it it’s all good don’t worry. It’s hard when you’re not able to express it. Take help with a specialist psychologist to know what will help you out. And therapy will definitely help out. I can keep going on and on but you’re doing amazing! Love to you!

    I’m a Mom with OCD and ADHD. 7 kids and a shop at home.
    I’m an Artist I sell original art and prints, cards. I also sew and I invented a clay back dough that I make things out of it and I’m selling something everyday. I have rolled around the idea of just doing one thing I to went to a therapist I talked about doing just one thing and told her how much I love everything I do and she said well yeah it would be like cutting off an arm. Idk my daughters Have shops they make stuff plus order from other wholesalers. My one daughter makes leather hand bags a few little odds and ends of leather items but she does the one thing. Her bags run anywhere from 200.00 to over a thousand and she opening another store. I’m like you I make a million things under $5.00 to a little more and we are going going and going. We need items that we get over 200.00 for just one item.
    So your resolution list is great and has inspired me to make one now so I can put my thoughts to it and get myself organized. Thank you for that and looking forward to your sewing. ❤

    Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but the wavy (and zigzag) trim is called "bric brac" or "rickrack." My mom used to sew some of my clothes in the 70's and she always called it "bric brac" (not to be confused with bric-a-brac, which are small collectible items/decor.). Loving your new goals for 2024! You've had such a tough year, so you are due for a great one! Big hugs from Kentucky!

    rick rack is the name of the wobbly trim. Be kind to yourself. You have had a helluva year. Make sure you are taking time to do the things you enjoy like making stuff for yourself. It helps. As an undiagnosed neuro spicy person myself. Doing "me" stuff helps me personally do my business stuff. Burnout is real. Loves you! Happy holidays love! 💜

    You are just starting that part of your journey. I will caution against meds, right away.. Try dietary changes 1st. Go slow and process it all. Make sure you are in the right kind of therapy! Research your therapy options where you are. Take notes and make lists, I know it can be overwhelming. One thing I will mention, is if you feel meds are right for you, gene sight testing does exist. It helps determine if those types of meds are compatible with you. A day at a time, you got this! ❤

    Happy to hear you have been diagnosed, that’s a big step. Medication with therapy is the way to go. Don’t be surprised if the first medication isn’t the right fit. I’m 64 have raised 4 kids with ADHD. I also have ADHD. I wish I was diagnosed earlier in my life but it wasn’t a thing back then.
    Remember TH-cam growth is about consistency. As one of your viewer 2023 has been a hard year to stay engaged with your channel. But, I’m still here. Love that this video was in real time. Love your positivity and keep being you.

    It’s called rick rack.
    Sewing clothing is easy as long as you have a good pattern. Most patterns look complicated but they are not.
    Start with something easy and then once you’re happy, your confidence will come with each garment you make.
    Good luck if you get stuck just ask someone most people who sew will be happy to help, I will always help you if you don’t understand anything. I have sewn for over 40 years my mam taught me to sew. However knitting I find a challenge. Never comes out right.
    Good luck with all you do. Xx

    I hope it helps. You don’t want to be in meds. Or counseling. You just need to put your self in the right tract again.
    Men? Honey you’re young and beautiful. You’ll find someone who will look at you and fall for you. All you need to do is be patience.

  • @Rohroh59
    @Rohroh59 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    ADHD? Everyone have it. No ones normal. Everyone have depression. Everyone bipolar. The positive about it is that you overcome it and be happy. I went through depression a lot. And thank God. I overcome it. My niece went through the same thing since she found out her dad cheated on her mom. And she started doing things to her self.
    But it’s true that someone told me. The one we all need to overcome is our selves. Then this world.
    You just need to walk it off no needs meds. You don’t want that, meds because of what you’re going through.
    Get a journal write down how you feel. Then let it go.
    Also, I was diagnosed with anxiety and my dr. said I need to either take meds or chill out or get counseling.
    I said to my self we are going to overcome. And it my self and I did. Feel soooo good.

    • @renfairegoddess
      @renfairegoddess 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      As gently as possible, no. Not everyone has these things.
      You don't 'overcome' ADHD. The brain is wired differently. If she wants to take meds. Great. If not? Great too.
      Knowing a diagnosis starts the journey on understanding how your brain works, and what accommodations she may need to give herself.
      I sure AF can't 'overcome' my Autism. I can't now have language to understand I am a zebra, not a defective horse like I have been told my entire life.
      Please do some research, so you can understand that what you're saying is possibly gaslighting people's lived experiences.
      Because tone is not conveyed, please know I'm coming from a respectful place where I am trying to educate you.
