I feel like as time goes on, we're gonna hit the end of the youtube content pendulum of creators, hype and fondness will start swinging back the other way toward humble creators because everyone is so used to spoiled, arrogant, overexcited, brain rot influencers.
Yeah, I feel Glamour and Flexing is on it's way out, as cracks have already shown. Thankfully, we see a rise of more humble creators like MoistCritikal etc. I think too many douche tubers ran crypto scams, so people realized those guys were always about the money, never the audience interactions :\
@@BladedAngel You see these multi million view videos from these same influencers, but I often wonder how many of those views are retained audience, or just algorithm driven from random 1 time viewers because "big shiny cool thing in thumbnail." I think even the most mind numbed viewers can smell something off after a while. As you said It's all about maturing out of that mindset, for the viewers and creators.
That was more a Twitch Problem than YT. but yeah, Gambling Addicts/Sponsors/Influencers on Twitch were OUT OF CONTROL before Twitch finally banned it.@@EatSleepSkrrt
That’s the sad truth of car culture on social media and it only seems to be going more down that path and that’s why I’m glad we got TH-camrs like bladed man has stayed himself
Yeah the difference is that they don’t really care about cars because it’s all about views they have no loyalty to a car because it has no worth other than the fame it brings and the fortune it can build. To a car enthusiasts a car can be a member of the family not easily sold and traded. They there are 2 kinds of car enthusiasts one who buys stock cars and keeps them that way and the wrench head enthusiasts who modifies them. The supercar guys hardly ever mod and if they do it’s done but a shop because their to stupid to achieve this on their own.
@@joshreynolds729In the case of supercar ownership, it's understandable. I can't expect most car enthusiasts to work on most mid engine exotics. And if they can, sometimes it's better to leave it to techs as they have more information about the car, less are made, so there's less public knowledge on the car. Plus, some supercar manufacturers (Ferrari) require you to have their permission to modify. Also, (cough cough ferrari) will void your warranty or treat you worse if you work on the car yourself. I'd like to see you work on your brand new Ferrari 😂 I understand shitting on fake car guys, but supercars are kind of their own topic...
For kids doing youtube seems like an amazing career choice but after growing up a bit they understand that filming videos will work out about as much as being a pro gambler
yeah its 80-90% Luck and EVEN THEN, you have no idea how long your channel will last. So while 10% of TH-camrs are part of the Adsense progam as little as 1% actually make it MORE THAN 1 YEAR?!?! Isn't that crazy?!? THen at 2 years, even less, I think it's 0.2%. So getting a normal job is still the real way to go, which is why I NEVER recommend people who see YT as a Career when they ask me stuff like, "whAT wiLL mAKE mE mONEY" like write a resume and apply for jobs, that 10>1>0.2% job security after 2 years IS NOT something I recommend to people. I am super lucky and blessed to make it 7! Its insane people like Charlie are on YT for 15 years even! I would be honored if I can make it another 3 and get a good solid decade of memories :D
Honestly, the worst habits is just about everything car influencers do. Getting into a community specifically for clout will always ruin you, the community, and everything you wanted to be a part of. Join because you enjoy it, not because of a get rich quick idea.
I've known people here in India who have G wagons , Lexuxs , bimmers [ those are almost 2.5× their price due to import taxes ] and still they have platued on social media. And I know hyundai/ Suzuki / Honda / tata econobox drivers having much higher sucess due to their content style. I'm not saying it's pointless but it's you DO need a personality , a audience , a niche and a signature video style. A doctor giving esports advice once told me [ yes as odd that might sound ] : better / more expensive equipment can only make a already good doctor into a better doctor. But it cannot make a bad doctor a good doctor.
@@BladedAngel yeah ,we too are tired of it. There are still a lot of influences who imported mk5 surpas, porsches and GTRs and are still milking it , which is largely due to their demographic of mostly young adolescents. Another thing influencers are doing is buying the car at reasonable prices in gulf nations , and using a international permit to ship it to India and making videos like " frist ever xyz car in India" and they keep milking that car for 3 to 4 months. And then ship it back to the middle east. This way they grow their brand. Don't have to give the 100% import tax and just have to eat the shipping + depreciation of the car. All this has made what was once a niche , now mainstream.
@@Sailed_awaysame here in srilanaka. people just too much hyped about cars like the GTR,defenders and other overpriced shitbox suv's that fatter than their mom and mk4's lan evo's civic's. and why people like those cars? because they are famous and overpriced . and people in here think that overpriced and famous is better.
There are quite a few cars that would look really good with a widebody kit. One of my favorite examples is the 2008-2013 Nissan GTR Nismo GT500. This is one of the more aggressive examples but in this case, aggressive is an understatement. It’s got the big aggressive fenders, cool wing, and I’m pretty sure the body itself is quite a bit lower into the wheelbase (if that makes sense). I’m sure that part is partly due to it probably having an entirely different chassis but still, my point is it’s one of the most badass looking cars ever.
Widebodies are a preference thing, some of them you'll like, some not. That being said, widebody kits are often pretty sick, i love the new Pandem Countach that thing is sick. What we should look at is at wether the "influencer" wants to do it or does it for attention
When I saw TheStradman's video about how he got his Koenigsegg, I learned a lot. I'm glad you are reaffirming what he said. James was not afraid to come out and tell us he's _leasing_ the vehicle. The only reason he's able to use that car as a business expense; i.e. a tax writeoff is because _he already made it._ You want to know where he started? _The dude was living _*_IN HIS AUDI TT._*
I still remember you saying "Don't get a supercar. Get a Super Cub." That line made me subscribe to you. As long as you're based like that, I'll keep on watching your videos.
I am a massive fan of you, sir. I have been an avid car enthusiast for nearly 3 years, starting when I was nine. Your videos have helped guide me forward and learn everything to know about cars, and as of today I am capable of understanding the mechanics behind most car parts and I must give you a lot of credit.
Wait, you're twelve and have already been into cars for three years? I feel sorry for how long you still have to wait until you can get to drive a car.
@@leonroyeah sounds kind of a bummer lmao, I've only started liking automotive and combustion engine vehicles just when I hit 18, where I started to drive and found cars and how they work very interesting. So I didn't have to wait at all. It's been 5 months since I was 18.
@leonro @rns6889 I might never get to experience an ICE vehicle when I do get to drive... yes it is a tragedy. Rooting for synthetic fuels from Porsche.
@@curiousjv7823 ICEs will still be around in 2030, as electric car adoption has been slow and will continue to be at the current pace. I wouldn't worry about that, if I were you. The question is what transportation methods can we sustainably use in 30-50 years and beyond, so the real issue in your case is whether your midlife crisis car will still make vroom sounds.
Great point about luck being a huge factor. With your channel, I think your personality and solid advice are huge reasons for success. It’s also fun to point out certain parts of car culture.
Yeah, I got a comment complaining about me talking about Car Culture too much...but what are my other choices? Be another oversaturated Car Reviewer, Vlogger, Builder, Modder, etc.? I learned my niche was found and I found all y'all who love watching it! So I appreciate the continued support!
@@BladedAngelThere's nothing wrong with getting into a different subject if you're into it, even if the audience might change over time as you add or drop topics. It's important to be passionate about what you're doing, because that's what makes you fun to listen to!
"I should cherish all the people who enjoy watching the videos" this is the exact sentiment that sets you apart and keeps us coming back We cherish you too Bladed :)
with the first one, the question of "what car would make me coolest" is the antithesis of everything i love about cars, your car is YOUR car and you shouldnt care what people think. do what makes YOU happy, not others
Don't get the wide body trend Unless it's for a legit use case or the fenders are shot as is just don't get it they usually look ugly and not prepped right
Passion goes a long way. One reason I feel bladed made it big because he is genuinely enthusiastic about cars and the culture rather than flexing Lambos while being rude to everyone around them. I feel you can make a great channel around modding/restoring regular cars. Actually, the maker of Dankpods also has a channel where he tries to restore old nuggets and compare mpg. Genuinely fun and engaging content.
we like you owning the same cars because the whole reason we are gearheads is because we care about our cars, no fender bender and "oh its ruined" cars are machines and can be rebuilt from almost anything that can happen to it, as long as you have the money to fork out
On a side note: You mostly see the intentions of an influencer whilst watching their videos. And most people don't want to be treated as a number so do something with passion, not for cash. Cash ain't gonna buy you time but passion will make it more valuable.
Gotta say that is some lovely advice for when it comes to being a content creator. Let alone one that’s has their niche about cars. 👍 Because I’ve had questioned myself as a fellow content creator for whether or not, if I want to do this in the long run. But sometimes it’s just nice to remember to “just make videos” and everything else comes naturally. Sure there are some exceptions, but sometimes it’s nice to be reminded to take a breath and not overthink it.
one of the best thing to understand is the difference between being really egotistical, and happy/proud of yourself (you will never be both). most of the time (at least form my own experience) having a BIG ego just isn't worth it. you may be able to push yourself, but the amount of pure disrespect, and entitlement you show towards other people isn't worth it. people with a big ego are some of the loneliest people out there, and its because they treat everyone else like they're worse then them. no one wants to hang around someone like that. having some form of respect for yourself is important don't get me wrong, but just having that self awareness, and the desire to become a better person is super important.... enough of that cringe
I am so happy that you think this way (not leaving making list videos), I don't watch a lot of youtubers I used to watch because they've lost the charm they had I watched them because of their commentary, their content not for their production value. Once they blow up on youtube they start focusing a lot on production value of a video and just stop being the people I subscribed to. So yeah love you Bladed just keep doing what you are doing and we will keep supporting.
Yeah, "Content Creep", Powercreep, LIfecreep, or Life Inflation are definitely something people begin to suffer from as their channel chugs along. Sometimes it DOES pay off though! And I support channels willing to take that risk and make it work. Other times, it just feels like they were never truly proud of what they made (Impostor syndrome) and try too hard to be a wannabe Hollywood, only to fall in this awful halfway point instead. (AKA most Minecrafters turned "musicians"). To me, the "Home made Video" feel of TH-cam is where it's peak. It's cheap to make, easy to watch, and the most honest to enjoy. Higher Production Values are cool still! But they usually involve said TH-camr becoming a company, which obviously invlves teams, large budgets etc. So it becomes a business instead of a homemade video. Again, most never end up touching Traditional TV or Hollywood in terms of quality, so they lose the charm of Homemade, while never mimicking the quality of True Film level production.
@@BladedAngel Wow dude you invested so much time to write such a nice reply thank you and yeah I totally agree with you, people who usually pull off this produced look are tech youtubers. With others it usually doesn't work.
It's funny when two incredible TH-camrs with seemingly completely different content have converging ideas. That was absolutely gold when the Angel brought up Caleb Hammer to explain the financial dangers of cars. It's tough to be both a car geek and a personal finance geek.
seeing bladed go from a list youtuber who i just happened to run into years back and decided to subscribe to, to one of the most humble youtubers ive heard of is honestly pretty amazing. really respect you, man.
Maybe some helpfull tips for car influencers: 1. Start the vlog somewhere away from your home (So nobody can "know" where you live) 2. Maybe blurr the license plates (Example Germany, it tells you which city you have registered your car) P.S. English is not my main language.
Bladed, you are a breath of fresh air. Seriously. So many people are arrogant, but seeing you be so level and down to earth with your opinions is just great
2:43 It really hit home here that to what I did. I just starting making stupid little videos at first. Then had friends and other people start to like my content I made. Even though with 40 subs now, I still like making videos and hope to grow over time. (Being yourself doesn't cost a dime)
This means the world to me! I appreciate a lot of subscribers telling me this now. I used to think my Lack of a Supercar or 1400HP Meth injected Twin Turboed Vette, made me lame. A confirmation that almost came true when I lost a whopping 50% viewership when I admitted I would never buy a Supercar. It's been a painful climb back to relevancy again, but I'm glad I made this journey. I feel I've met more genuine people who now expect fun content instead of "YO LOOK WHAT I BOUGHT BROOOOOOOO. LOOK HOW FAST AND EXPENSIV IT IS BROOOOOOOOOOO"
Your personality is what really stuck out to me the most and overall grounded and super real way you go about things not just with cars but with life, there really is no other car content creator channel or TH-camr really like you. lol I absolutely love the use of still images especially the Samurai Jack and Spongebob ones they’ve been an absolute staple, I’ve been watching for 3 years now and you have helped me learn what it means to actually be an automotive enthusiast, I hope more people can learn from you so that the community can move past from its current state and rebirth into something greater
The fact that owning a car for 4+ years is a wierd concept is strange i own my cars unless there a flip car for 250,000 mile plus my daily has 289,000 miles on it
I thank Bladed so much because he gave me the motivation to move forward to buy my dream car, but he tells me how to get there. I want a 5.0 and I started small with a 2002 corrola with 125 hp, then a Optima is 280hp now I'm getting a V8 soon to next year!😊
You know what, I'm glad you didnt buy a supercar. No, not in 'haha loser' kinda way, but if you had bought one, i think today might have been different. I may not have been able to enjoy this beautiful content with the soothing voice of yours. Maybe all that i would have listened to is 'YO GUYS LOOK IVE GOT A 700 HP SUPER CAR LETS GO DO SOME ILLEGAL SPEEDS' blah blah blah. Keep on making others realize what reality really is. ❤ Also when's another bike vid coming? I'm waiting for one 👀
I just saw a video in my feed titled "175mph From NYC to LA (Without Getting Caught)". I'm much more into humble creators than overhyped stuff. Dank Pods constantly talks about how grateful he is to have a following with dedicated fans, DarkViperAU gives humble rambles with us, even though he does share some of his finances he doesn't lean into hype culture or anything, and Bladed Angel sharing some truly life facts. I've also been watching financial literacy channels like 2 Cents. I can see how hype culture is dying off in favor of more humble down to earth creators just sharing things about average life.
I must admit, even as an European (a Polish guy to be exact) your content is really enjoyable (even if I have no damn idea how to transcribe the imperial units to metric). Really, you're one of my favorite true car guy TH-camrs, keep it up Bladed! Btw, I'm planning to have an 2003-2008 RX-8 for several years now (3 to be exact), still following that idiotic dream of having a cheap underrated dorito car but I really don't care how dumb that idea it is, it's just my dream car, that's all. Just lovin' the overall design and sound this baby makes. Gonna put a trap OC itasha on it, because why not (no, I won't regret putting it on while living at one of the most racist, homophobic, religious and anti-anime place in Poland, because that makes it only more enjoyable). PS: i know i've made it long, but i know it's not a waste of time to let the whole internet know how much i'm passionate about buying the Rex 8 (and probably that's how i'll name her, because why not)
I have been binging your videos the past few days because they're either funny, informative, or just plain entertaining. Good shiz my guy. As a slightly older dude who's just now getting into car culture (despite working as a mechanic the last 5 years lol) I have learned so much about car culture in general from you
i swear alot of youtubers have hit a point like this where they just seem super insightful and start to talk about real life things besides the youtube content, good for you bladed
You sir are so right! Too many people think that getting into debt with these cars or in general will help them but it only brings them down further. I wish everyone could just have common sense and understand this but unfortunately that isn’t common.
Methinks one of the most important things to understand between enthusiasts and influencers is that most of the time influencers don’t have to actually LIVE their day-to-day life with the insane cars they buy
I loved cars for most my life but finding your channel years ago bladed I’m grateful. you have helped me learn not just about cars but about life, I thank you for your wisdom and kindness. I’m also proud of your growth❤
ngl we really need to go back to the time when being a youtuber meant you needed to be like, actually interesting as a person and not just copy paste what others did
Just want to say this, I'm a new enthusiast only been half a year since I've started learning more about cars. You introduced me to the automotive world like 4 months ago and now I'm still always watching and waiting for your vids. Entertaining, simple, relaxing informative, all I've wanted for automotive content. Keep it up man I think you're here to stay and people appreciate your content, sincerely.
Thanks for keeping it real. I’m not a car guy, but your content has been an entertaining peek inside. I appreciate the advice to prospective content creators.
I hate the horspower/price elitism in the influencersphere. People will judge others for not spending 60k+ on a car or not having 500+ horsepower people can have fun in slower cars and spend within there means, you don't have to be in debut to be a car enthusiast.
8:30 i feel like this question is best not pondered regarding any topic, because it will just make you feel bad and ruin your mood. it's better to just take what you have and enjoy it, cherish it 15:22 this shit jumpscared me while i was typing this out
I might make bad financial choices, but i never go into debt for ANYTHING. If i make a decision, and it turns out to be a bad decision, i do not want to live with debt, which makes it more expensive. I save money to not go into debt and to put some time between me deciding that I want something and actually buying it.
Having watched Garbage Time. I think you can actually do pretty well with some nuggets of a car. There's a certain charm to them! That and it's also a lot more relateable as it's something that within most people's reach!
If you share you passion for cars people can respect it but if your basing yourself off going after money your gonna lose in the long run and all these "influencers" are not real car enthusiasts theg are just putting up a facade by being cringey
This is... Inspirational, not trying to get popular by creating content, but trying out whether you enjoy creating content or not is just inspiring. Being a youtuber not because of money, but being a youtuber as a hobby. You could think about editing and creating content as learning to walk for the first time in your life, a really rough start, with some successful moments and some unsuccessful moments most likely could lead up to turly enjoying being a content creator, just being myself(apart from voice because i am terrible at pronouncing anything in english so maybe just yeeting in a text to speech voice that i feel like fits me). Thank you for the inspiration, this feels like motivation to start actually making videos.
This video made me realize just for how long i've been watching you. I can't put an exact date or anything but i can very clearly remember reading your community post on how callie got wrecked back when i was in middle school. I'm not a native speaker and back when i first started watching these kinds of car videos i couldn't speak english that well either, i frequently googled the words you were saying to understand you. I still don't have a license since you can't get one until you are 18 where i live and i still have 5 months until then but your videos made me grow as (still) a fledgling enthusiast, thank you for that. Writing this makes me reminisce of all the phases i've gone through (some of them very cringey lol) so i guess i shall stop and get back to studying as nowadays i'm more of a ferrari guy.
I just want to say thank you for the content you create. It really has helped me get through a rough time in my life leaving home and starting University, and lets me take a break from my studies by thinking about what I want to do with my car when the snow finally melts and the classes end for the summer. I think that it is amazing that you have had the same cars for the past 7+ years in a society that pushes people to buy new every 2-3 years, and that has strengthened my resolve to do the same! (Also I found out about a month ago that my brother started watching you for your bike content, which gives us something to bond over and talk about, so sincerely, Thank You) Also the weebvette was just the cherry on top. I didn't learn about it until after watching your videos for about 2 months, and then my brain went nuts like "OMG someone else knows what a Fire Emblem is i'm not alone in the car community" lol.
Love your channel man, you have the humble/speaking capacity. Not above and not afraid too speak w substance, a lot of TH-camrs to watch it’s just your different 👍🏼
It's showing more and more now how much viewers value genuine demeanor- many people will, and always have, paid extra to buy from the smaller, "real" sellers. Your funny silly haha list videos are fun, but wouldn't be very funny, silly, or haha at all if they weren't coming from a genuine and personal perspective- the fan-favourite drivers aren't the most famous ones nor the most winningest, but the ones that were really, actually having fun and being themselves. Thanks for being real with us Bladed
I watched your video for first time during 2017 when I wanted to find car type that suits my need and preferences, since my dad back then considered to sold his pickup truck. I got hatchback for over 5 years now thanks to you and since then I hooked up with your videos.
Lol. Miata Is Always The Answer. I have a shirt that says "I may be slow, but at least I'm happy". Indeed. I'm actually really bored of supercars. When you're a kid, they really speak to you. But as an adult, you want something practical and fun that's somewhat disposible. Unless you're a collector, I don't see the supercar appeal, unless it's tracked. But then it'll need a bunch of maintenance. And heaven forbid you ever wreck it. Depending on the platform, the car will either be a blessing or a curse. Balance is indeed a necessity here. Unless you only want a show piece. On to more important matters. Bladed, bro. You're doing it right. You've been doing it right since I've been watching, (~2yrs ago). Ok, so there's been some immature moments, but you recognized them and moved on. Personal growth is what it takes to be successful here. Same with trial and error. Not obsessing over every video, but examining trends. Not ignoring comments, or taking them all to heart, but evaluating them. Maturity goes a long way. Your community leadership and steadfastness has also really helped solidify your viewership. I really enjoy these heart-felt videos with genuine concern for your fellow enthusiast. You're spot on in your evaluations and advice. You're essentially the antithesis to the clout chaser. Which is so desperately needed. I like how you own what you love and that it makes you happy. I love how you don't feel the need to chase fancy cars just because you can. It's a mature attitude that screams confidence and gives you an authoritive stance. Your humility is also telling of your maturity. Vigilance is what retains humility. Pride comes before the fall. Those who start to feel entitled will have their status stripped from them eventually. Therefore, 100% agree on all points. There's some external validation for you. Enjoy.
for advice #1: the simplest way ive heard it explained is that, no matter the field, each and every tool you buy should have a purpose, a spot on the shelf the fill, a nail that needs hammering. if you dont have a reason for getting a tool beyond "*insert influencer here* has one, so that means i definitely need one" then you dont need that tool. now, thats not to say you shouldnt get cool things if you want them, thats the number two reason for making money, but, if it isnt necessary for putting food on your table, then it should take a back seat until youre at a point where you can afford to burn that money without any notable benefit
Ever since I found your channel back in 2021, it gave me a good time and the best way to keep me interested in cars and my bank account because I would, I don’t know have money for other things than getting negative amounts and losing my car.
idk but the concept of "influencers" always sounded disgusting to me its like everyone has turned into a virtual Shepherd and the stupid sheeple would instantly fall for it with no hesitation
Love your vids and the reason it's so enjoyable to watch your videos (for me at least) is that you're like the guy that sits across the room and just yapps about something and works through the list he got in his head
I used to create gaming videos years ago, I had a nice streaming set up that I built, started off as just a gaming set up, but i wanted to do more at the time. Once I actually started, it became very stressful, my brain treated it like a job immediately, I hated editing and watching my videos back, and I was always comparing myself to those I aspired to be like. I ended up giving up after only a few month, not because I didn't make it, but because I just didn't enjoy the process of creating gaming content, despite enjoying games. Now days, 5ish years later, I make motorcycle videos, and essentially the only reason is cause I want to document my riding career, and I love rewatching my rides, and all the stuff I see. I actually enjoy editing cause I remember being there, and its like a memory that wont fade. Moral of the story, its not just about doing what you love, it's about your intention, and what actually motivates you.
I'm just glad you admit luck has a huge part in "internet fame". Nothing is more obnoxious that a "content creator" that doesn't admit they got lucky. "You can do it bro I swear, it's just hard work like me! I just worked hard! No it has nothing to do with that one random video that went viral and I went from 123 followers to 500k. No luck all hard work." No. It literally isn't hard work. The algae rhythm picks and chooses winners and always has. Now, your success after being "discovered" is largely to do with effort. But being discovered in the first place is entirely luck based.
This is a thank you comment. ❤ You are the first TH-camr that I love to see about cars. I used to watch a lot of donut, Hoonigan, and others like whistle. (Still do and not throwing hate their way) You made me realize how much I can love my car and how I can make the most out of it. It’s my first car and I want it to last. I’m in one of the rust belt states so cars deteriorate quickly. You’ve taught me more about a car and what can I apply to help my car than any other tuber. I do way more research because of you than looking at pretty pictures saying, “I want that”. Your advice has helped me find an online community for my car that I didn’t know existed. Thank you so much! I hope your health is well and luck will find you at every fork in the road!
I've been watching you since Forza Horizon 3 came out, since that's when I first properly entered the racing game genre (I would watch your gaming videos) and ever since then, I've watched you grow, and still, to this day watch every single video you make, keep it up bladed, you're amazing.
Been watching bladed for a long time now and he's definitely helped me with my car enthusiast dreams and to not worry about my car and enjoy driving it
I like you because of the lesson you learned. I just learned about you because I was researching buying a car and you are one of my inspirations. One of my new youtubers and believe me they aren't many
as a none youtuber who did consider it at one point and did grow a little i a short period of time, id recommend anyone who wants to get into the car world of youtubers just go buy a simple gopro and maybe a 360 cam for the back of your car and go drive and vlog make basic vlogs with WHAT EVER CAR YOU HAVE and have fun with it. a gopro and 360 cam will only cost you like 700 tax and all maybe a little less. work your normal job save some money then get the cameras, if you have a current gen phone from apple or android you really dont need the go pro, or you can get the gopro and not the 360cam the only reason you need one or the other is so you can get footage of you driving ether from camera mounted on dash or from the 360 suctioned to the rear of the car to get the 3rd person driving view.
Bro, just wanna say I’ve been subscribed for a while, watching even longer, and just remember your older content. I personally love how you have clearly matured and how your channel and content has matured as well.
I am a subscriber since the very early days of your channel, when the entire car scene on yt got a certain edge to it. Amids channels like TurBro or - god forbid - Gas Kings, your relatively calm style and informative videos made you stand out. Sure the list format had to go some day but your transformation in general is astounding. Looking back you can really see some character development and I am glad that you didnt take the supercar route in 2021. I really like your anti-clout agenda and am looking forward to every video. Greetings from Germany
6:26 Exactly why I subscribed to your channel, I'm more of a cool car (like corvette and mustang) car guy not a hypercar car guy, your channel really gave me something to watch instead of all those cringy hypercar youtubers whose only personality is having loads of cash. I'd rather have a 1984 5.7l C4 Corvette with a manual transmission than a brand new Lamborghini
On the aspect of taking loans and how businesses are able to write them off, I believe a TH-camr can do the same and I don’t think they have a to be a big TH-camr. I think they can just register their channel as a “Business” like the stradman is doing with the koenigsegg and write it off as a tax write off, similar to how he did with his other cars as well. A lot of people (me included) confuse tax write offs with free cash when it’s just something you’re not paying taxes on Ex: You make $100k/year and take a loan for a 30k car, you can write off the payments you made in that year say $10k so you are only taxed on $90k instead of the full 100k. I think I explained that right, but I’m not sure so if anyone would like to correct me please do because I would like to learn this properly myself
that "Imma buy cars to be famous because x has 10 cars and is famous" reminds me off these "billionaire daily routine!" videos where people say he "wakes up, meditates, goes for a run etc". While some billionaires might live that life, its not what makes you a billionaire...
Honestly ur videos are probably the most helpful videos on youtube, the advice might be on cars but looking further into it a lot of that advice can be used on other things in life as well To anyone who hasnt done it yet, watch all of bladeds other vidoes, its worth it since u not only get funny and entertaining car lists but also car/life advice and u even get to watch some real time character development in bladed as a person (which also helped myself personally a lot)
Great video! As a small TH-cam creator (I have the channel under this name and another for gardening) I do it because I enjoy it. I've been fortunate to be monetized on this account, but it's not big money. That's ok...the channel is growing organically and that's awesome. I'm getting great messages from viewers and I feel like I'm getting to know them, building up a small community. I'm in a couple of Reddit forums for TH-camrs, and it's amazing the number of people asking "how long until I'm monetized?" That shouldn't be the end game. Just enjoy what you're doing. Nobody is going to become the next Mr. Beast.
Remember when Bladed only had an Altima? the simpler times. Also Doug STILL films with a static iphone by himself on the same few places and we still watches him.
I remember being subscribed to you on a old old old account idk if i even have anymore, im glad i found you again and you got your second wind in content creation, welcome back (for me ig? You never left)
It annoys me so much when people call everything an "investment". Worst cases was a guy buying up trading cards from garage sales hoping to find rare cards. That's gambling. Another one was calling a PS5 an investment. Doesn't even stream or upload to TH-cam. "29% APR loan on a car" and driving it new off the lot... I felt uneasy just thinking about that.
I followed you ages ago! Before you bought the mustang. I liked the content you were creating and you seemed more grateful and you liked making the content and I really enjoyed that!
I am impressed as to how easily people get into debt, I mean I live in Spain and here a job isn't secure income even inside the government so getting a loan greater than you could pay in less than a year is actual madness (unless it's a house) and see how people who haven't even started saving their own money to afford not to work for at least 6 months is taking loans greater than 5-7 years of their life it just tells me how stupidity can ruin your life so quickly.
It's not only car influencers but overal influencers. I feel like internet is one of the biggest inventions in a history of humanity, but at the same time we became more and more aware how dumb ppl are (social media) and we are reaching the the point where we are tired of them. But don't worry we can hold, bubble should blow soon...
Bladed, I recently subbed to you in 2021 (edit: not 2023 and not during your second wave). I have started to binge your videos that year but I think I first saw your videos a couple years before thanks to the TH-cam algorithm. The reason I started binge watching you was because of your very well-rounded takes in life and cars. Especially your most recent ones, I feel you grew so much as a person as well. I have become extremely interested in cars during 2021, so seeing you mature with your Mustang and Corvette was something I really enjoyed too. Love your content, I look forward for more in 2024!
I have a loan on my daily which is a 2019 Sentra and I'll never take a loan out on an enthusiast/project car since I'm not about to go into debt for something that won't run all the time or is going to be modded to the moon and back because if I'm going to have a cool car that thing better be mine the bank can own the boring car for a few years
I kinda relate to this video,Not because I make videos myself but because I really love old V8’s especially in 90’s and early 00’s Ford vehicles. A couple months ago i bought my dream car,A Ford Crown Victoria. And to me. It’s perfect I love everything about it,The V8 sound. The transmission wine from first to second gear. The ride. Even the style, looks wise it’s my favorite looking vehicle even with it just looking like “a car”.
For me I hate watching supercar content because it’s not obtainable, the average lowly working man can afford or even slightly above because one I don’t want to support a yuppie and 2 because these cars are already fast and don’t need a lot of work often they don’t even work on their own cars it’s a shop car they payed for so they can get views. No different than the clowns driving back and forth saying look at me I’m m rich.
I came here not bc of cars but bc of your down to earth personality. Like a very needed therapy. I live in russia and back in 2022 my life got messed up so bad i didnt even begin "living" it. Hopefully one day i will be able to become a car enthusiast. I really want some economy shitbox to ride around and have fun with but unfortunately i cant. Now i have other unplesant bs that needs to be done and it overwhelms me. Never thought that i will need to move out of russia so soon. Appreciate peace everyone! Never use unreasonable violence. Peace is so hard to build and so easy to loose.
Thankfully, we see a rise of more humble creators like MoistCritikal etc.

car influencers really think they're the same as car enthusiasts
That’s the sad truth of car culture on social media and it only seems to be going more down that path and that’s why I’m glad we got TH-camrs like bladed man has stayed himself
if a car influencers takes there car to a shop, there opinion is invalid 💀
Yes
I'd like to see you work on your brand new Ferrari 😂 I understand shitting on fake car guys, but supercars are kind of their own topic...

yeah its 80-90% Luck and EVEN THEN, you have no idea how long your channel will last.

WOW! That's interesting to hear. I thought only the US was getting bored of Flexing Meta, but its good to hear India is too!

Car: Exists. Car Influencers: *Widebody*
That why wide body 458 exists
Well widebody kits look so fkng dope on some cars
Wide body eg tho?

13:09 some people forget that Stradman started out homeless, living in his car making videos, and got lucky when one of them became popular
Because I’ve had questioned myself as a fellow content creator for whether or not, if I want to do this in the long run. But sometimes it’s just nice to remember to “just make videos” and everything else comes naturally. Sure there are some exceptions, but sometimes it’s nice to be reminded to take a breath and not overthink it.
one of the best thing to understand is the difference between being really egotistical, and happy/proud of yourself (you will never be both). most of the time (at least form my own experience) having a BIG ego just isn't worth it. you may be able to push yourself, but the amount of pure disrespect, and entitlement you show towards other people isn't worth it. people with a big ego are some of the loneliest people out there, and its because they treat everyone else like they're worse then them. no one wants to hang around someone like that. having some form of respect for yourself is important don't get me wrong, but just having that self awareness, and the desire to become a better person is super important.... enough of that cringe
tldr

For 5 years I thought pulling off the 1000 HP Supra thing will at least get me my right to speak back.
I watched your video for first time during 2017 when I wanted to find car type that suits my need and preferences, since my dad back then considered to sold his pickup truck. I got hatchback for over 5 years now thanks to you and since then I hooked up with your videos.
I love your list videos man. They're so entertaining and cozy to watch. I'm glad you don't hate making them
The lottery winner example was a very good example
car man teaches us life lessons disguised as car videos once again 💪💪
15:22 caught me offguard 😂
I own a civic, but I thank God every day for it. Very grateful, because it can all be gone in a second.
I've been watching you since Forza Horizon 3 came out, since that's when I first properly entered the racing game genre (I would watch your gaming videos) and ever since then, I've watched you grow, and still, to this day watch every single video you make, keep it up bladed, you're amazing.
We need more Hoovies tbh. Not enough people show off obscure and weird cars.
You show knew enthusiasts how to stay grounded and the next generation needs channels like yours
Bro, just wanna say I’ve been subscribed for a while, watching even longer, and just remember your older content. I personally love how you have clearly matured and how your channel and content has matured as well.
Agreed. Rather show your unique relationship with your car to others than worry about what car to have.
Awesome video! It’s great to see someone who is down to earth and level headed.
A lot of people (me included) confuse tax write offs with free cash when it’s just something you’re not paying taxes on
Ex: You make $100k/year and take a loan for a 30k car, you can write off the payments you made in that year say $10k so you are only taxed on $90k instead of the full 100k.
Honestly ur videos are probably the most helpful videos on youtube, the advice might be on cars but looking further into it a lot of that advice can be used on other things in life as well
To anyone who hasnt done it yet, watch all of bladeds other vidoes, its worth it since u not only get funny and entertaining car lists but also car/life advice and u even get to watch some real time character development in bladed as a person (which also helped myself personally a lot)
The only reason I like about cars is how they look. My most favorite car is the Volkswagen Beetle '65 because of how it looks so special to me.
Love your content, I look forward for more in 2024!
buick roadmaster spotted. Stopped watching after 30 secs cause the roadmaster in the beginning satisfied my dopamine receptors and now I'm happy again
I have a loan on my daily which is a 2019 Sentra and I'll never take a loan out on an enthusiast/project car since I'm not about to go into debt for something that won't run all the time or is going to be modded to the moon and back because if I'm going to have a cool car that thing better be mine the bank can own the boring car for a few years
The topic about supercars becoming a bit dull is exactly why I don't really like them anymore in racing games
