We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.
If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.
Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.
    -
    THANK YOU ❗️

    @chrisberry9016 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Okay Sam, this is awesome! Now, you are so into recipes, and different flavors. So, for you and everyone else. When smoking with pellets, the beauty is, you can season with the wood as well as herbs. Depending on what your cooking, you do not have to use just Pecan or Hickory or whatever. You can make a mix, in different portions, for a different flavor. Say, mostly Pecan, little bit of Apple or Cherry, with just a smattering of Mesquite. That one's awesome with Pork by the way. I know it's more difficult to do this when working from a bin, rather than a small smoke canister, but man is it worth it.

  • @johnbrown8059

The self-closing feature you suggested would be a nice addition, but there is one other addition that I think it should have even more, and I'm kind of disappointed that it doesn't. It needs a rotisserie! It could easily be built into the sides just like the supports for the removable racks. They could make it so the height of the rotisseries could vary to allow for various sizes of items to be cooked on it, or maybe even have three separate rotisserie slots so one large item could cook using the center rotisserie or several smaller items could cook at the same time using all three. It wouldn't be at all difficult to build that into this grill; I don't know if Traeger is responsive to your feedback, but if they are, you should pass that on to them!

Mr. Sam, A few days ago I watched your Herb slow roasted salmon video from 6 years ago. I thought this would be perfect for my 93-year-old mother and 90-year-old father-in-law. I can't stand salmon; however, they both love it so, today 9-5-22 I made it on my little portable Pit Boss smoker. I followed your recipe and used "Q" 100% Alder wood pellets. My father-in-law was blown away at how good it was. He even commented it was better than his other daughter's (not my wife) salmon dish. Trust me that high praise. She is a nutritionist and cooks in a test lab. A number of years ago my mom had a salmon dish at a 5-star Las Vegas restaurant. That salmon became her benchmark, until today. She wigged out at how good it was. At least 25 times she said this is the best ever. I told her, I wish I had a bigger smoker to make larger batches. She actually offered to buy me a larger smoker. So, thank you very much for your video. As an admitted and proud Mama's boy, I live to do everything I can for my mom. Your recipe made her so happy and that made my day. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Umm never had 30-50 temp swings in my Timberline...only time my Temp was that far off from what I set it to was when I raised the temp or when first starting it up. I have used it in high winds, rain (with sun canopy over it..) and 20F degree temps. Not sure if you were using an older Timberline but the just now uncurrent Gen version at least for me in my home location never has those large of Temp swings...it does change some but then you do want smaller temp swings to give better smoke flavor to your meat...

I have the Recteq 700 and once I set the temp, I never have to worry about any temp changes more than 5-8 degrees and that is rare when it does. The only thing I would like to see RT do is add those bluetooth temp probes that sync with the wifi so we can get rid of the wired probes. I do like the induction side burner! That would indeed be a nice addition to any grill.

See you got that mind haze! That’s some good brew.
For the Traeger though: $3800 is quite a steep price for features you can get for 1/3 of the price or less. Someone else mentioned that they added the induction burner and 1500 to the price. That’s not worth it to me. I won’t pimp the brand but I got my pellet grill for $800 and a Blackstone for $300. They do everything this can do. And having a Blackstone is way more versatile.

Great when sponsored/partnered, and don't get me wrong the unit in this video is top of the line, and their more common priced grills are good a product no doubt, but mostly namebrand whoring when people buy a traeger for $800 or $1000 or $1500. Shop around, lots of better options exist at similar or cheaper price points. Same goes for buying pellets, racks, etc.
Traeger pellets are just artificially flavoured alder tree wood and soy filler lol. Other brands use legit wood.

    • @Kyle496

Pellet smokers are a bit weaker on smoke flavor but if you want a strong smoke flavor just use a strong wood like hickory. Woods like apple or cherry don't impart flavor that well but cherry does still give that amazeballs color.
I just love the set it and forget nature. Every hour just check it, spritz it, and come back in another hour. Only thing I gotta worry about is a power outage and I could just move it over to my charcoal or gas grill.

that meat looked so tender, lovely too. Does the fish mess up the taste of the other proteins? I don't know how smokers work, so might be a silly question, but I think of deepfried fish and then fries in the same oil...brrr...I like bbq but the hassle with charcoal and stuff not so much, tried electric didn't get hot enough (cheap thing to try) this one;s prob out of my reach but it looks fab and I can understand you didn't want to mess up the cutting board, I;m like that too

I've found that bbqing/smoking fish doesn't impart fish flavor on other foods. I've gotten the fish flavor on other foods too by frying, or even on my Blackstone (the ONLY time I use a little bit of soap when cleaning it), but never when grilling or smoking.
