Looks like this was originally posted about 7mos ago and in our first video you were using the Polycrylic, but here seen to have had better results with Mod Podge. What have you learned in your various trials and errors? Lol! Is MP really a better product for this purpose or...? I've been enjoying painting rocks to hide and some ideas beyond my meager painting skills. Thanks!
On wood and most stone I've been getting cleaner transfers with MP but! if my image was printed a while a go and the paper is a little older PolyCryl does a better transfer of the ink. Thanks for your comment!
Honestly i have not tried those surfaces but id like to think you can.. give it a try and let me know :) or if i find a some marble would that be a video you would like to see?
@@Frankie_TimberandCrafts Yes of course, many people tried to transfer images on different surfaces but no one tried to transfer on a black granite stone. you be the first one . best of luck!
Oh my goodness I love this technique Frankie! Decades ago when I did image transfer I used regular copier images, not laser. What is the issue with the laser versus the copier? Also I remember using some kind of oil, is that not good for rocks? I especially love the way you added to the design, giving it color or pop. Thanks so much for this technique. You do a great video.
Thank you Sarah for your comment :) I prefer laser prints because you get the most and cleanest ink transfer, the image quality is great. I'm intrigued, have not hard of using oil to do an image transfer i'll see if I find videos with that technique. I appreciate you! Thanks for watching
Nice video. Question: Did you let the images dry on to the rocks before scrubbing off the paper? Looked like you just kept applying modpodge until it came off. Thank you.
Yes let the image dry first... depending where you are at it could be a few hours or over night. Then with water you begin to rub off the paper until you reveal the image. Thank you for your question!
Hi! I did use regular printer paper. Does your color printer only print color? If so its worth the try to see how much color transfers… so far I’ve only used black and white. Thank you for your comment! Keep crafting 🫶🏼
Thank you for your comment Carol, personally I use exterior satin or gloss clear coat. Sometimes I use oil based urethanes or if I have a can of polycyclic I will use that either works. Oil based clear coats hold up the best outside
Between parts 1 & 2, I learned EXACTLY what I wanted to know! Thanks so much for the clear staging & explanation. 😁🙋🏽♀️✌🏽
Glad it was helpful!
This is a fantastic idea, particularly, for those of us who have to drawing talent.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Do you have any image transfer ideas I could try?

So when you go to finish them, what do you use as your top coat?
