My dad spent his career in the Air Force and got deployed many times. I have this specific memory from kindergarten when we were marching around for some sort of school holiday parade and I saw my dad (who had been deployed) surprising me in the crowd. I was so emotional but my little rule follower self stayed in the parade line at first. Thankfully my teacher gave me the okay to go run and meet him 😂❤ military reunions are so special!!

You usually buy your mission phone before your mission so what most people do is download photos beforehand or add their google photos account to your mission phone!

if you listen you'd know they're not comparing/equating them to each other... they're just saying there's a similarity in that your partner is abroad for extended periods of time with limited communication and that makes for good stories

They didn’t compare military service to missionary work. They shared stories from people in military or missionary relationships. Not once did they compare work.
