This part of the game really got to me. It was good to see the human side of Michael but it was really heart wrenching to hear him play out all the awful things he’s heard the people in his life say to him, realizing the error of his ways.
No. I played this mission as a ten year old and didn't know that he was being drugged but I was just in awe and thought it was the coolest thing ever. This reminds me of those times
The song itself is symbolic. He wants to be happy but he blows any chance he gets at a real breakthrough with his impulsive behavior and decision making. He was split between being angry that he had to go into hiding from Trevor only for his family to be more disconnected than when he was in North Yankton robbing banks. Here he is remembering everything bad that has led to him getting himself into more problems. He never left the life because his exit was bittersweet. He never got a chance to actually retire or go home with the biggest score of his life. He betrayed his best friend Trevor who is Michael’s worst case scenario while Franklin is who Michael used to be before he ruined all his friendships
Got a sick mom, she left for a few months and i got stuck doing everything at my house with lazy people. Then four months sep 12, 2019 later i got my middle finger tip cut off at work it was not my fault it was a customer i was helping. I was struggling wirh money and everyone bitched when i could not pay the bills and a few days before that happened my cousin left because he got kicked out. Then my sister left for basic training for the army and i miss her still then my dog died of cancer i put him down on march 4 2020. Before i that i played this mission it made me feel happy so everytime i feel down i listen to it and it always cheers me up and remember the happy times.
I cannot listen to the original song without thinking of "JIMMMMMMMY" "What do you want Micheal" "You ruined my life" "You have ruined my serenity" so I just keep coming back to this and enjoying the sick mix of words with the song, that go reaallly well togetherXDDDD
I think this was one of the defining moments that made GTAV such a completely badass and amazing experience. The perfect song with Michael hearing his mistakes and complaints tormenting him, this sequence stood out.
Interesting trend in movies/games: putting a tragic scene to a happy soundtrack. This scene, the capsizing scene in the Wolf of Wallstreet, the heads exploding in Kingsman to name a few
I don’t think people actually realize how sad this scene is. This whole drug trip symbolizes Michaels family life falling apart and the rest of his life spiraling out of control but the happy music juxtaposes it
This moment and parts of this game literally changed me. Idk. I teared up when I played this part for the first time. Will always stick with me. Wish I could spread that feeling around to everyone!
I love this part of the game because of how much it shows people what some people with depression go through, granted they don't fall from the sky but it sure as hell feels like you're falling and never hitting rock bottom like Michael in this part of the game. You also constantly replay someone telling you something negative repeatedly all the time also like how Micheal hears his family that he cares about echoing all these insults, and another thing is that a simple question like Micheal's therapist saying "What do you want, Micheal?" could easily be taken from a legitimate question to someone sounding annoyed like someone who doesn't want to talk to you, and these are all different types of depression and there's so many more, but these three are easily the first things to come to mind when thinking of it. Edit: Micheal screaming "Jimmy" over and over is also a sign of depression where you call out for a loved one and most of the time it feels like you don't get an answer
I love that people can see this for more than what it is at face value. When you take it at face value it’s funny drug trip scene but if you really listen to his thoughts and think of the free fall as Michael metaphorically falling into depression it’s so much deeper. Someone else said it better but you realize that these comments Michael hears really get to him and reinforce his belief that he’s a shitty person which makes him even more pessimistic and sarcastic
A lot of people can't see more than Rockstar shows in the screen of the game. I love this game, because if you really pay attention to everything around you in the game, it really shows you how modern society works, this game has a lot of hidden messages, from the least relevant character in the game, to a song playing in one of the in-game radio stations. I love this game, it really has a very deep encrypted message, that you gotta see beyond what's being shown in the screen, it has a very emotional message that not everyone can see. My eyes teared in the scene where Trevor has a dream that his mom is in his trailer, it was all an illusion, if you pay attention, it didn't really happened in the game's story line. Trevor is my favorite character out of the 3, because everyone confuses him with being a egocentric douchebag who doesn't give a fuck about nobody but himself, when in reality, he's just a man that's very very hurt deep inside. That's why sometimes when you switch to Trevor, he's either drunk or high on meth, marijuana or some other drug just to try to escape from his depressive reality where his mother and his father never gave a fuck about him. Michael, the one who seems to be very selfish, is just doing everything he does because of his family that he loves very much, gets into trouble with the federal government, commits a lot of illegal crimes just to keep his family safe, but they can't see what he does for them. You can see that in the mission where Devin Weston send Merryweather guys to his mansion to assassinate his wife and his daughter. Franklin in the other hand, hides behind the "I'm a feelingless thug who's always hustling to get out of the hood" when in reality, he doesn't wanna live the same fate as his mother who died from an overdose before the events of GTA Vstory line. Sometimes, when you're drunk or high when playing as Franklin, you can hear him saying that he doesn't wanna end up like his mother did, who died of a drug overdose. Grand Theft Auto V is by far the best video game I've played in my entire life!
tell that to gta online and whatever the fuck its story line is. are we crazy bastards doing god knows what for money or actual professionals like in heisting movies?
Not to mention that Franklin also is in love with Tanisha even though she's left and moved on with a man who's rich and he's trying to make himself just as rich.
This reminds me on how you only get one shot in life and you shouldn’t waste so don’t take a wrong turn you don’t have to different people in you be yourself don’t be a crook a thief nor a lier its easier to see in retrospect remember we only get one life to live god has to shine the light on the things you do if you think you are the good guy then be one don’t give it up your a good person

It's a shame that many people said GTA V story was bad just because it's not as dark and sad as GTA IV. I always thought that GTA V is an improvement from the previous entry from the gameplay, story (yes, the story), graphics, and many more
I hate gta online and rockstar but i absolutely love the story in this game one of the best story telling game of all time ! The only reason people shit on 5 is bc of Online becoming a cash grab. But the story is actually very good easily one of the best but I don’t think it tops gta 4 bc everyone preferred the overall serious tone to that game. But 5 is a perfect mix of satire comedy and emotional deep writing. This scene is the perfect example where the song playing in the background is upbeat and catchy but being juxtaposed by Michaels self loathing and voices of his disappointed family and therapist. When Michaels family is normally screaming at him it’s easy to laugh at but this scene shows that their words stuck with Michael and genuinely hurt him enough that it’s all he can think about while tripping off heavy drugs, which adds a whole other layer to an otherwise “funny” screaming line

You never had that far to fall
I want to shine a light
I want to shine a light
I want to shine a light
I want to shine a light
I want to shine a light
On the things you do
I want to shine a light
On the things you do
I want to shine a light
On the things you do
I want to shine a light
On the things you do
Lyrics fit perfect to this mission
I feel like this is what DMT is like lol
Not close but somewhat accurate more like dxm or ketamine
@@reallifehankhill1422 makes sense because jimmy gives him ketamine
@@FrankMontes24 or some form of anesthetic dissociative because jimmy said vets have been using it for decades
Playing it at 0.75 speed is the slow dance version and 1.25 speed is the Rave version. Your welcome
