hi, thanks for the informative video. i have a question about the returning way, do u think i can make it for ktm train at 4.05pm, if i take the 3.30pm ferry from Swettenham pier? i check the schedule for ferry it seems limited time on Sundays and the one prior was 2pm. how long does it take to walk from butterworth jetty to ktm and is ktm trains always on time? many thanks in advance
If everything is lined up perfectly in terms of timing and you make a run for it towards the train station (for example you arrive at the pier and the ferry is just about leaving), then yes you can. As you can see from the video, the walk from the Ferry Terminal to the KTM Station is not exactly close as well. So for me, I'd advise to have 1hr at the very least (1hr 30mins is the best) from boarding the ferry to boarding the train. There are just too many variables which are out of your control such as the departure of the ferry, the crowd at both ferry terminal and at the KTM Station and last but not least, rain. Hope you will find a solution for your trip and have a great journey!
Yes, there 'was' a free shuttle bus service operated by Rapid Penang but with the new pathway, I am not sure if the service is still in operation. Would greatly appreciate if you can check on our behalf and share here with us via a comment reply. Btw the new pathway will take you directly from the train station exit, all the way to the ferry terminal.
Hi Syazwani, it has changed so please take note of the following: From the 1st of January 2021 (2021-01-01) until June 2022 the old ferries are temporarily being replaced by fast, passenger-only boats (on loan from the Langkawi ferry service). These boats take less than 10 minutes to travel over to Swettenham Pier in Georgetown and operate between 07.00 am and 8.30 pm. Departures are between every 30 minutes (peak hours) to every 60 minutes (off-peak).

this is like a buildup to a really nice view once you get on the ferry. I really like watching these walk videos you do, mintak izin tiru konsep
LOL... sure bro, silakan :)
So how long it takes from train station to the ferry terminal..
Sorry for the late reply as I was travelling. With the new walkway, it only takes 10mins walk from the train station exit to ferry terminal entrance.
May i know if right now is still the same as you show in this video ?

OMG the bus didn't follow the traffic light. Green for pedestrian yet the bus didn't respect that. :(
😰😪😭
