Great video! This is my hometown, where I lived as a kid. I remember every place you showed in this video and it all looks the same except one building that may not have been there when I was a kid *3:56**.* The Palace Hotel (6:53 & 7:30) was open back then and I used to go in there and play in the elevator and run up and down the red carpeted stairs. Ha, great memories. Thanks for uploading the video! 👍
i passed though town in the 70's with my grandparents ( i was a teen) and it seemed a great place to be rural and free. now we live close by. thx for commenting.
My hometown, grew up there, raised my kids there, we all left for better places, a once OK town that has seen better days. Mills left, pot legalized, jobs gone, mostly now full of people not from there. Once upon a time it had a vibrant music scene with numerous famous musicians from there, Bonnie Raitt, The Doobie Brothers, AFI, Green day, Tommy Tutone, Robbin Ford, Phil Lesh, And numerous fantastic bands that didn't "make it" such as Rootstock, The Changelings, Whitetrash Superstars, The Wyman Brothers, Loose Change, Rage, Second Shadow, Abstract Reality, The Lordz of Karma, Self Fulfilling Prophecys, Area 707, and many others. It used to be a nice, decent place to live but now it's just kinda on life support. Great memories there tho'
Its the big city to us in Kelseyville, although it looks like many locally owned businesses and services have recently closed. thx for the information and the comment. It does look like the city government is trying to act for a better future.
@antiurbanizm I hope that is so, although I'm not hopeful, the city council and police/sheriff county and city management departments are notoriously corrupt, and there's a "good Ole boy" system in place that keeps qualified people from real positions of power in the local government in favor of people born into families that have held power for generations. In other words it's a microcosm of the bigger world. That's why we left after our kids grew up. That being said, I had some of the best times of my life there and many fond memories of local characters and events. Ands it's beautiful. Sigh...my hometown I can't live in. Thanks for the video and for listening.
Hello greetings you, First of all, thank you for subscribing to my channel. Pleased to meet you. A really great tour of the city. Interesting for me to see since your cities are built quite differently than our cities in Europe. Andy
you are welcome. i've watched many city walks in europe and i'm afraid that united states cities are rather primitive by comparison, but that makes them of historical interest i guess.
Gorgeous atmosphere, you filmed this really nicely my friend.👌👌
thank you and best of luck in your hiking activities.
