Most likely! I fish about 3-4 days a week when I can get out. Usually Ponto, the lagoons and surf fishing when the waves are small. Say hello next time you see me.
I am down to venture anywhere in San Diego. I've fished Blacks, Mission Bay, The San Diego River (for bass)! I've been fishing a ton lately and I'm going to start targeting a few different species now that summer is coming up. Spotfin Coraker, Corbina. And I want to hook up a nice Leopard Shark this year...like in the 40lb + range.
Nice Hali, have you ever caught a big corbina in the ponto beach area, I went there yesterday and saw several huge ones that looked like they would start pushing the record. I couldn’t get them to bite any lures so no proof.
My biggest Corbina was at Blacks...24". I've yet to catch a bean at Ponto, but Im sure they're there. I usually fish ArmyNavy in Carlsbad for beans. Got a bunch at the north jetty at Tamarack too. Corbina are a bit difficult but once you dial it in, you're set. I use a 2500 size reel, braided line and a 6-8lb fluro leader w/ a 1oz egg weight, barrel swivel and a small mosquito hook (not sure of the size off hand). I've both sight fished them and just chucked it out. Keep the line tight and reel slowly. You'll feel a tick when they start nibbling at your sand crab (or other bait). good luck.
@@wizard-of-bacon9384 Nope, Im not on social media. I actually only started a youtube page to share my fishing stuff with my pops who lives on the east coast. Its morphed into what it is now.
@@donniedarko1345 ok cool, and a update to the corbina I caught a 4 1/2 pounder today on 6lb line (ultra light setup) with a ghost shrimp, It took me on a ride for probably 8mins.
I mostly use plastics, crankbaits and some other lures. The ONLY live bait I have ever used is San Crabs for the Corbina, Spotfin Croaker, Yellowfin Croaker and Surf Perch. Since I do only catch and release, I try not to use life to catch life.
@@donniedarko1345 thanks! What type of plastic were you using for the halibut? I frequently visit that lagoon and only use live smelters but have not had much luck.
@@vincentranger09 The best things that work for me in the lagoons is Lucky Craft lures and the soft plastics like the "Big Hammer" brand. usually in the 3-5 inch range with a 1/2 oz to 1 oz jig head.
I usually go just before slack tide and fish by the inlet. Just keep casting and you'll hook up. If we caught fish all the time they'd all it "Catching" not "Fishing" :) I usually throw swim baits and Lucky Craft.
Got stuff out there man! After last weeks rougher waters I can’t wait to go out this week.
The surf fishing (as of 5/26 are still a bit rough, but the bays and lagoons are perfect. Just got to time the tides right or they look like a river!
I think I may have seen you this weekend. Were you fishing Carlsbad either Sat or Sunday? Just found your channel. Subbed. 🤙🏼

Caught one on a spoon at the same spot at low tide.
Awesome. I went yesterday, got one good hit but caught the skunk!
Hello llias 😎where is exactly location ?? Can I get a address please
Coast Highway and Tamarack Ave in Carlsbad. Plenty of areas to catch all around this. The lagoon is called Agua Hedionda Lagoon. easy to find.
Good form
