Thank you very much for this detailed explanation that all Catholics need to know and I am one them because my mother "God Bless Her Soul " came to me in my dream by lifting her eyes to Heaven and I understood immediately that she was asking for prayers. Since then I pray the Rosery every day for her. Amen Father have mercy on our souls 🙏.
Father Alar has a remarkably clear voice that is easy to understand, and yet I find myself wishing that his shorter teachings were available in the closed caption. I live near a beautiful cemetery and I have a devotion to the Holy Souls. I pray for them daily during the day and night. Our 7-year-old grandson loves driving through the cemetery and praying a Hail Mary for the Holy Souls on the days that I am privileged to pick him up from school. Our nickname for Purgatory is "Scrubby-Bubble Land" where people are getting all cleaned up for Jesus and Mary. I am a convert and it took me decades to come to terms with Purgatory. The more we pray for the Holy Souls, the more real Purgatory is for us to understand.
Praying for the souls in purgatory is great act of charity and you both will be rewarded by our Heavenly Father. And the souls you prayed for to move to Heaven, they also will pray for you. 🙏
Yes, that the experience I had with one. She was still a human being. What I learned about her is she was a nurse, a woodworker, she was an academic, and she showed me the window she jumped from..
I’m a Christian who believes we go one of two places when we die . But when I was heavy on drugs me and my ex had a house way out in the woods . The stuff that we , and other people experienced was scary . Maybe drugs invited some dark spirits into the house
Drugs often cause hallucinations. But of course drugs are made by the devil, and consuming and focusing on devils goods can perhaps cause such a situation to make you see things. Or like in the video explained, God made you see the spirit from Hell as a wake up call to not continue this lifestyle and turn to God. Bless you.

You might want to read Rev 5:8 and Rev 8: 3-4 where those in heaven take our prayers to the throne of God. The Bible does teach that the saints are alive even though they died on earth. Consider, for example, that Jesus teaches that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is “not God not of the dead, but of the living” (Matt. 22:32; see also 22:23-33) even though they had all died on earth. In addition, Moses is alive to Jesus at the Transfiguration and converses with him, even though his earthly death had occurred many years before (see Matt. 17:1-8).
@KevinWindom-fz5bc "To pray to" doesn't necessarily mean "to worship" but "to ask." Haven't you ever asked anyone to help you? We ask Mary to help her lead us to her son. To bow doesn’t necessarily mean worship either. Japanese businessmen bow when receiving your business card as a sign of honor. Are they worshipping you? Certainly not. Great question & such wonderful insights from Fr Chris! Thank you, Fr Chris, for such a thorough presentation (as always) that helps to clarify the Church's position on this subject.
About 2 weeks ago, my deceased husband appeared to me as I left my chair in the living room to go to the kitchen. It was a very vague outline of him but I recognized it. I couldn’t stop myself before I passed by him and as I did, my arm passed through his and he immediately disappeared. I was startled and upset and prayed right away. Right before this happened I had heard that souls from purgatory may appear to be asking for prayers so I immediately started talking to him and praying to God and for the intercession of the Angels to help him out of purgatory. I hope he lets me know sometime that he finally made it to heaven. He has been gone almost 7 full years.

Thank you Father, I really enjoyed this. I found that being there are hundreds of religions on Earth, and each religious leader swears their religion is THE one, I look at spirituality in a General sense: Once we all die we separate from the body and we were all Spirits. It's a whole new universe, but it's all up to us what happens next once we separate.
Thank you for your explaination of church teaching. May I ask, what does a healthy grieving process look like? One may have a deep faith yet still miss a loved one and want to believe the loved one is in heaven or even purgatory.
@@DivineMercy_Official There is No such thing purgatory if there was a purgatory then you wouldn't need Jesus Christ to die in a cross for our sins show me in the Bible where there's purgatory
I was raised Catholic and learned about Purgatory when I was younger. As an adult, I've met many non-Catholic Christians who disagree with the concept of Purgatory. If Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross, then why would a believer need to "suffer" or go through some sort of cleansing period after death but before going to Heaven? It's like saying that the immeasurable sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us fell short, as if what He went through wasn't enough. I must admit, that viewpoint makes a whole lot of sense to me.
Haven't you read St. Paul's letter saying, "I make up in my body what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ ...."? Jesus paid the eternal price for our sins. But we have to make reparations for the temporal consequences of our sins. For instance, if you left your wife and went to another country to commit adultery, then felt sorry and went to confession, you would be forgiven. BUT, you would still have to make the trip home and make up with your wife to undo some of the temporal consequences of your sin. Sin also deforms one's soul, by making giving in to sin easier the next time you're tempted. Purgatory removes from our soul the effects of sin already forgiven.
Yes, as said below, Jesus paid the debt to save us from the eternal punishment due to sins but there are consequences due to sin and for that we need purification and detachment before entering heaven. As Revelation says, "nothing impure will enter the kingdom of God." How many of us are totally pure? Praise God for Purgatory. God bless th-cam.com/video/QLvPSHZhgKU/w-d-xo.html
If we trust in Jesus's death and finished work on the cross then we are saved from the penalty of sin...death and have the assurance of heaven. The verses in Scriptures that say we are being saved is from the power of sin in our lives...we will " sin less" by His power. And the verses that say we will be saved are from the very presence of sin which is when we are in heaven where there is no sin. This IS eternal security. Jesus promises to those trusting in what He did, verses trusting in anything we do, is that the moment we put our faith and trust in Him who saves us is eternal life...our citizenship is in heaven.....not Purgatory. Paul clearly states "To live is Christ...to die..Gain" It's a win win for the belie er. I was a practicing Catholic for 44 years...then Jesus taught me all about Salvation in His Word. Love to all ❤
Father Chris….. God bless you always🙏🙏🙏thank you always for your very wise explanation of matters like that! That helps a lot to the young people to understand the different of what is wrong or good !!! Specially on this hard times.
Yes Jesus is the only way to the Father but there are many ways to Jesus. Great ways to Jesus include the saints and his mother, our parents, our friends our family. God bless.
This is a verse from the New International Version (NIV) Bible. It is found in Matthew 22:21, Mark 12:17, and Luke 20:25. It is part of Jesus' answer to the Pharisees and Herodians who tried to trap him with a question about paying taxes to Caesar. Jesus asked them to show him a coin and asked whose image and inscription were on it. They said, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "So give back to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's." The NIV Bible does not explicitly say who can return to the earth after death. However, some passages suggest that only God has the power to raise the dead and bring them back to life on earth. For example, in 1 Samuel 2:6, it says: "The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up." In John 11:25-26, Jesus says: "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." The NIV Bible is a popular translation of the Christian scriptures that uses the word ghost in different ways. According to some sources , the term ghost can refer to: - The Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity and the source of God's power and presence in the world . - A spirit being, either divine or demonic, that can appear to humans or influence them in various ways . - An apparition or a disembodied dead person, which is not supported by the Bible but rather a deception of Satan and his angels . The NIV Bible does not teach that ghosts are the spirits of deceased humans who can communicate with the living or haunt places. The Bible warns against seeking contact with spirits, as they are either evil or forbidden by God. The only spirit that Christians should seek is the Holy Spirit, who guides, comforts, and empowers them to live for God's glory.

Thank you Fr Chris for this video. I learn so much always about our faith through your videos. I have a question though. I have a niece that claims she sees dead people walking around. Its something that she claims she has seen since she’s been a little girl. Some seem harmless but others are evil. I have told her she should not talk to them and to go to confession and receive the sacraments. She has fallen away from the church. What do you advise she do? I don’t like the thought of this happening in her life!
I've heard a similar story about a little girl my neighbor knows. She said she gets really frightened at times and talks to them as well. I told her to go to church. That may calm her somehow. It's a bit scary when kids are involved 😔 I hope she'll find help and I'll keep her in my prayers ✝️🙏
Big difference between Catholic and other's view: The Lord's mediation. It is mandatory. Indeed Our Lady said in Medjugorje: "The important thing is to pray to the Holy Spirit, so that He may descend on you. When one has Him, one has everything. People make a mistake when they turn only to the saints to request something" (October 21, 1983).
Yes "only" is the key word. Intercession is always to be in Christ as the Catholic Church teaches. Yes, Jesus is the only way to the Father but there are many ways to Jesus. Have you ever brought anyone to Jesus? If not, you should. If you have, then why can you but not Jesus' own mother? Andrew brought Peter to Jesus. Philip brought Nathanael to Jesus. I brought my family to Jesus... but there's no intermediator b/n Jesus and man? In proclaiming Christ the one mediator (cf. I Tim 2:5-6), the text of St. Paul's Letter to Timothy excludes any other parallel mediation, but not subordinate mediation. In fact, before emphasizing the one exclusive mediation of Christ, he urges "that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men" (2:1). If subordinate mediation is not allowed, please don’t ask anyone to pray for you because prayers are a form of mediation. Moreover, the Greek word used for "one" that St. Paul used here in I Tim 2:5-6 in the phrase "one mediator" is not monos, which would mean "sole," but eis, which can mean "one" in the sense of "principal," or "first in a series." Jesus is the principal Mediator who enables many other sub-mediators to transmit the grace of God to others. Again, faithful Christians act as sub-mediators in Christ when they pray for their neighbors, share the Gospel with the lost, and serve the poor. The Bible says that our growth in faith and holiness is aided by the intercessions of the other members of the Body of Christ (Eph 6:18; I Thess 3:11-13; I Tim 2:1-4), and there’s no better intercession than that of Jesus’ own mother. Jesus comes from the line of David an in the Davidic Kingdom the role of the Queen Mother was important (1Kings2:19). Read about how she had the function of "counselor" to the king in regards to all matters. God bless.
@@DivineMercy_Official Thank you!. Too much info for my brain honestly but, for the little I understand, you are absoilutely right and also -keeping in mind that within the Holy Trinity all three persons are the same-, Our Lady´s comment makes perfect sense: Jesus = Holy Spirit. Best regards.
i work in a college on a night in the UK and the building was built in 1931 near the historic city of York, England, UK. i have seen things like a black shadow that passes the that caught my eye a lot of times, i thought its just me tired and seeing things till the lad that does my nights off told me 1st that he has seen it and others have come forward this is why I searched up ghost and found this video be honest i just can not get my head round about ghosts sometimes they semi transparent or fully that walk through walls and often you cant see them but hear their foot steps or voices or throw something. the next logical equation i thought is aliens that are light years ahead who can phase them selves out of our world but still walk among us
I’ve dreamed about my son twice since he was murdered. Once I couldn’t see him bc he was taking a test. I sensed a authority figure. The second time I dreamt of him he seemed happy. I knew he was dead in the dream and was still sad but ok. It left me with the feeling that he was ok and with me still I just could just not make any more new memories with him. I always chalked it up to maybe I got the dream as reassurance my son was ok. What do you think? I miss my son. I sure hope he’s ok.
Thank you for sharing that. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your son but keep the hope that he is with God now in heaven. Know that you and him are in our prayers. God bless you.
But with this theology I can talk to my dead grandma who was a follower of Jesus cause she’s alive in Christ and apart of the body of Christ. The saints are no greater then you and I, so are you saying I can pray to my brother in Christ who passed away cause he’s alive in Christ ?
Nah bro. Christian here. I think visual figures were used by god to communicate in the Old Testament when he couldn’t commune with us because we had ent been born again. Jesus made it to where we can communicate directly with god without having him have to send a “ghost”.
I have a doubt, I have heard there are people that have gifts of seing suffering souls and help them to find the light , Do the sufferings souls exist? or are they demons?
I’m not religious whatsoever but I 100% believe in ghosts. I literally saw, talked to and touched one 2 years ago. I’m so convinced in ghosts that I’m anticipating death just to see what happens. Laugh all you want but I guarantee that you’ll find out for yourself someday.
Father, I fear that I may have done one of the most aggregious sins, though not entirely by my own fault, but through my own curiosity. I have a few friends, who are deep down genuinely good but troubled in heart and spirit, who participate in wican/ pagan practices, and I observed a few of their rituals. Mostly just to gain some understanding and perhaps let them see that such ways are most unholy, I however have failed to bring them to Christ, and I fear that my presence at this rituals might have damned my soul even though my intentions were good... I don't know what to do and it has haunted me ever since.
No, please be at peace. A mortal sin has to have full intent and you did not. But please go to confession and thus you know you have the guaranteed grace of forgiveness. God bless you.
God said once the dead cross over no their spirt cannot roam the earth and interact with humans - read the rich man who went to hell and asked God if he could warn his family and God said no they cannot cross over and communicate with humans after crossing over
Thank you but that is wrong. What your referring to is quite different from the Saints in heaven. Revelation 5:8 tells us about the Saints taking our prayers to the throne of God in intercession. Moses who had died was quite active on the Mount of the Transfiguration God bless
To be absent from the body is to be one with the lord, we live once then are judged, he who goes down to the grave does not come up, on that day his plans perish, his plans for this life are cut off his house will never know him again, he will never have a say in anything that goes on under the sun. For the living know they will die but the dead know nothing. Their anger their hatred and vengeance is cut off. All Bible versus going way against ghosts just lingering around in this life after they perish. I disagree mostly with what’s been taught. Scripture says your in heaven, hell or maybe purgatory (I’m not Catholic). God does not just let a soul wonder around after they pass away. I agree God allows saints to appear and under certain conditions deceased ones to appear for something like Elisha and Moses or Saul and Paul in the OT but those are few exceptions from a higher power. Stories about someone’s dead gramma or grandpa being seen at their old home or property is NOT the case most ghosts are what the Bible calls familiar spirits as God talked about when God warned Joshua and the Israelites to have nothing to do with as they were moving into then by promised land.
Father, what should I do I have felt like someone was choking me. The course of the week I kept seeing horrible dark shadows(since than I havent seen anything). Turns out my parents and sibling share similar or worst stories. I feel paranoid and petrified that they will come back again and things will get worst. I haven't slept well in months. My sister told to pray the magnificat and to stop living in civil union with my husband. He refuses and doesnt believe in me. Ahhh I dont know what to do!
In Burton there was a mom and a dad the dad died thn the mum died so they so they sold it to the brother and sister but the mother thought she was still alive but they sold the house and know its all boxed up
Father, I got the question, why should we pray to saint if we already know Jesus? It just doesn't make sense. Shouldn't we actually pray to Jesus without the medium of saint? John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. When we are the children of God, why should we pray to Saint?
Thank you but if you actually take the time to watch this whole video, sorry it is a bit long, it'll answer every single one of those questions. God bless you. th-cam.com/users/liveFb8fThA7kis?feature=share

If you've been away from the Catholic Mass and/or Reconciliation for any reason, we invite you back! 🙂
Paul clearly states "To live is Christ...to die..Gain"
It's a win win for the belie er. I was a practicing Catholic for 44 years...then Jesus taught me all about Salvation in His Word. Love to all

Thank God I’m Catholic 🙏❤️🙏

through no other name but through Jesus Christ may you get to the father
Yes Jesus is the only way to the Father but there are many ways to Jesus. Great ways to Jesus include the saints and his mother, our parents, our friends our family. God bless.
This is a verse from the New International Version (NIV) Bible. It is found in Matthew 22:21, Mark 12:17, and Luke 20:25. It is part of Jesus' answer to the Pharisees and Herodians who tried to trap him with a question about paying taxes to Caesar. Jesus asked them to show him a coin and asked whose image and inscription were on it. They said, "Caesar's." Then he said to them, "So give back to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
The NIV Bible does not explicitly say who can return to the earth after death. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."
The NIV Bible is a popular translation of the Christian scriptures that uses the word ghost in different ways. According to some sources , the term ghost can refer to:
- The Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity and the source of God's power and presence in the world .
Great explanation! My kids ask about ghosts and now I know what to tell them and can show them your video! Thanks!
Thank you for joining us.... God bless
Interesting
I see ghosts before I go to bed. I feel like I understand them, somehow I feel connected with it.
Fr , you mentioned the Exorcist from the 1970s. Father O’Malley was in it. He taught at our school, McQuaid Jesuit in Rochester NY. Raised money for the school. I graduated in 1975
Good morning Father Blessing.Thank you for this wonderful homely. fr
I ask you to pray for my mother. Maria Hien and her sister Maria Y Ben are in good health. full of Mary's grace and overcome the corona virus pandemic. I ask you for my father John bt. I also ask you to pray for Maria Y Ben to soon repay the debt. Please for souls pray: PEter, 5 Maria, Paul, Teres.
If you could for example transcend the material universe and still be on earth, you would literally have to consistently move with the earth you couldn't be stationary if you are not tied to earths gravity.
I'm open to the existence of ghosts, but I remain skeptical.
Thank-You Father for clearing that up. I ALWAYS found Ghosts confusing!!!! I no longer celebrate, for lack of a better word, Halloween. I know that it is SHEAR EVIL!!!!
Thank you LGM, it is true that many misunderstand the day and do evil things. But actually, the roots of the day are Christian and not pagan. It might surprise you. God bless th-cam.com/video/z3X20a2I7ik/w-d-xo.html
Of course they are!
Could you please do a video about what the bibel says about of the earth is flat?
Yes ive seen them
Thank you Fr Chris for this video.
Yes, we explain that here. God bless th-cam.com/video/vM6VESQ_Md4/w-d-xo.html
Leonor B, pray for her, especially the Rosary and prayer to St. Michael. Use holy water on her, and give her a blessed brown Scapular to wear.
Amen 🙏🏻
i work in a college on a night in the UK and the building was built in 1931 near the historic city of York, England, UK. i have seen things like a black shadow that passes the that caught my eye a lot of times, i thought its just me tired and seeing things till the lad that does my nights off told me 1st that he has seen it and others have come forward
this is why I searched up ghost and found this video be honest i just can not get my head round about ghosts sometimes they semi transparent or fully that walk through walls and often you cant see them but hear their foot steps or voices or throw something. the next logical equation i thought is aliens that are light years ahead who can phase them selves out of our world but still walk among us
Amen too!
@@DivineMercy_Official thank you so much especially for praying for my son. 🙏❤️

@@jtsmomforever217 hello may i ask who did this?
Really? Giuseppe's favorite movie is "Ghost"? I mean, it's an ok movie. Like how they depict the demons dragging the evil souls down.
Lol.... I may have stretched it being his "favorite" but he does like it! Haha :)
@@mynameisGail Yes, thankyou :)
@@DivineMercy_Official haha that was funny 😄 thanks I needed that!God bless!
But with this theology I can talk to my dead grandma who was a follower of Jesus cause she’s alive in Christ and apart of the body of Christ. The saints are no greater then you and I, so are you saying I can pray to my brother in Christ who passed away cause he’s alive in Christ ?
What about mediums and such? Imo God gifts them the ability to see and communicate with the dead…. They didn’t ask or seek out such gifts …
No
Maybe they can redo A Christmas Carol with visits from a heaven ghost, a purgatory ghost and a hell demon.
If you get punched by a spirit can it be a good spirit, happened me, but I wasn't perturbed just made me run to Jesus?
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
What about children ghost that never learn the word of Jesus?
2:42 lol!!
I want nothing true in this life and after life the only thing I want is meeting our loved ones again.
How can I invoke the dead, I really need help?
Nah bro. Christian here. I think visual figures were used by god to communicate in the Old Testament when he couldn’t commune with us because we had ent been born again. Jesus made it to where we can communicate directly with god without having him have to send a “ghost”.
I have a doubt, I have heard there are people that have gifts of seing suffering souls and help them to find the light , Do the sufferings souls exist? or are they demons?
i knew it
amen praise the lord built more churches and spread Christianity in india, we have trust and want to build schools in india
I’m not religious whatsoever but I 100% believe in ghosts. I literally saw, talked to and touched one 2 years ago. I’m so convinced in ghosts that I’m anticipating death just to see what happens. Laugh all you want but I guarantee that you’ll find out for yourself someday.
Ghosts definitely exist
What is holy conversation between realms? Why would you not just pray directly to the Holy Trinity?
Thank you but please read what the Bible says about the intercession of the Saints
@DivineMercy_Official thanks for your response. Though it does not answer the questiom.
Yes, Janet, prayers are needed and maybe a blessing of your house.
@@DivineMercy_Official THANK YOU!!
@@DivineMercy_Official I will definitely find a priest, thank you!
In Burton there was a mom and a dad the dad died thn the mum died so they so they sold it to the brother and sister but the mother thought she was still alive but they sold the house and know its all boxed up
So what i do isn't wrong them ?
Father, I got the question, why should we pray to saint if we already know Jesus? It just doesn't make sense. Shouldn't we actually pray to Jesus without the medium of saint? John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. When we are the children of God, why should we pray to Saint?
Thank you but if you actually take the time to watch this whole video, sorry it is a bit long, it'll answer every single one of those questions. God bless you. th-cam.com/users/liveFb8fThA7kis?feature=share
