Dear Father Chris, I want to thank you for such an outstanding and very thorough teaching about advent. I also enjoyed your explanation of the colors and the reason for the wreath as well. I decided this year to get an advent wreath and to start lighting the candle along with prayer time. I found it to be very symbolic and a great practice. Thank you again for this video. I totally forgot this was a time for penance and want to thank you because we want to be properly prepared. Amen!

Advent is my favorite liturgical season within the Catholic calendar. And in preparation for Advent, I have my battery powered Advent candles. So for each Sunday and week of Advent I light one candle at a time. And what does Advent mean to me? It's for me to prepare myself for the glorious second coming of Jesus Christ and his birthday and it gives me a opportunity to make sincere repentance for whatever I did wrong and hopefully do better in the future and make improvements for myself.

Many thanks! We tried to keep Advent Christmas & Epiphany distinct but of course interwoven. We tried to keep some Christmas observance thru the old Candlemas day, the Presentation/Infant Divine. It’s a far more meaningful season that way. I think more people would do it that way if only they understood.

    Convinced myself to run around
With someone else to forget about you
But I can't hold you responsible for the things I do
I said your name by mistake
Played it off like I'm just confused
But I was frontin', lyin' to myself
    When I know the truth
    Was I missed you
    Yes, it's true
I should've known not to let you go
    Let you go
    'Cause I missed you
    Baby boo
We could've grown if I held you close
    Held you close
I hurt myself a hundred times
Just to feel something in my soul
I kept knocking even though I knew
    What's behind that door
But then I heard you call my name
And it sounded like the sweetest song
    You never moved on
You were waiting for me all along
    Well, I missed you
    Yes, it's true
Should've known not to let you go
    Let you go
    Well, I missed you
    Baby boo
We could've grown if I held you close
    Held you close
    Well, I missed you
    Yes, it's true
Should've known not to let you go
    Let you go
    Ohh, I missed you
    Yes, it's true
I should've known not to let you go
    Let you go

Father, why don’t the clergy and the lay people bow their heads at the name of JESUS? I was a child when I was taught the adoration to Christ, some 70 years ago, was imperative. I make the Sign of the Cross when I pass a Roman Catholic Church. I bend my knee when I enter the area of the Altar and when I leave the Church. I don’t bend at the waist. What is the reason for these changes as signs of adoration and respect to Our Lord? 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻

Why is the virgin birth only mentioned in Matthew and Luke. It’s not mentioned at all in Mark or John. Even Paul doesn’t speak of it. Isn’t it important enough ?

There's no miracle mentioned in all four gospels other than the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves which foreshadows the Eucharist. So you could say this about just about any miracle of the Bible.

@@thelmapickett9544 sorry Thelma but we cannot speak from our own authority. God gave the authority to his Church. Christ organized religion. He established the college of bishops by selecting the apostles, gave them authority through apostolic succession, established the chair of the papacy and put Peter upon it. Again, it's not our place to tell him he is wrong. God bless and keeping you in prayer.

Yes, God is always there for us.... but mostly in the Church. So please consider going to confession for the forgiveness guaranteed in the sacrament that Christ gave us in the Church. Keeping you in prayer. God bless.

Why are the synoptic gospels of Matthew and Luke so wildly different ? The nativity story in them are very contradictory. In Matthew Jesus is born in a House and in Luke he’s born in a manger. In Matthew after the birth Joseph , Mary and Jesus flee to Egypt. In Luke they go to Nazareth. Which one is correct ? They both can’t be right.

    • @DivineMercy_Official
      @DivineMercy_Official  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Actually they are both correct and there's no contradictions. They're just being told from two different perspectives. It's the same as if there was an accident with two different Witnesses who saw it and the same event in different ways.

In Matthew’s account, the wise men(Not three wise men) first traveled from the east to Jerusalem, not to the birth city of Jesus, Bethlehem. By the time they finally reached Bethlehem, Jesus was a “young child”-no longer a baby and no longer in a stable but a house.
