    Initial days are tough in door-to-door sales. It may break your thought about choosing this field. Even a slightly
    different thought will attract you like a magnet, you will always think of changing the field. I know, it sounds bizarre
    at first, but sometimes the situations demand action in short span of time. However, if you are the one who never quits
    no matter how worse the situation is, then door-to-door sales is the right fit for your caliber. The outcome in this
    field takes time to come. But one thing is sure, an honest approach and great reputation will yield you more than
    anything.
    Never Quit. Don't ever think of quitting after you've had a bad first year.
    Take time and think about it. The reason for the bad year was the lack of skill set. So there is a great need to upgrade
    your skills and continue to be successful in this industry. Only if you stick around will you find your peak and be
    successful. It doesn't matter what you make in your first year as a sales rep knocking doors, because you can double or
    even triple your income every year pretty effortlessly. A lot of first-year reps in the door-to-door industry want and
    like instant gratification. But what they don't realize is that it takes a while in the marketplace to get to the place
    where you get the results you actually want. Moreover, the guys who stick out and focus on the next 3-5 years are the
    ones who are successful.
    Who doesn't like Money?
    If you go outside your home, you see a lot of people going here and there towards their destination. There are actually
    chasing their dream of earning more. It takes time to get some recognition and value in the market.
    If you ask anyone about their job and stability, the chances are very slim anyone is fully satisfied with their company
    and the salary.
    Everybody wants to make the six-figure jobs and the big bucks. But it's important to realize that it takes a couple
    years to get skill set developed.
    After those initial days, you can consistently go out and make really good income. And it's during those first 2 or 3
    years where the process and income are not fast enough and people quit.
    At the end of the day, they see that they can get a better opportunity by jumping on to another company. But what they
    don't realize is the opportunity in front of them. It is the true gold mine and if they stick with it, they will
    succeed.
    "The hidden gold is me sticking it out and not finding where it's at and getting it."
    "A lot of reps look for external circumstances to change internal drive and motivation."
    By doing so, they forget that the common denominator in all the situations they are going through is themselves. And if
    they stop depending on other things to change, then they can make the necessary changes internally and increase
    productivity and their wealth.
    Don't look to other people to solve your problems, solving them yourself will give you the ability to duplicate your
    successes wherever you go, and not have you depend on the company, leadership or your manager.
    "You are the one in charge of your destiny" not your manager, not the pay scale or the circumstance.
    "Take who you are as an individual, and apply it into getting the required results and not losing your identity in the
    process"
    Prepare your schedule and stick to your principle :
    1. Always be yourself.
    2. Build your own personality.
    When you go home at night, even though you work for someone else and your paycheck comes from someone else. Still, you
    are your own boss and you get to hold that uniqueness to yourself. And you are able to feel you are truly accomplishing
    things.
    "You are your own company." You dictate your paycheck, the more you sell, the more you make and no one can tell you
    otherwise.
    Don't try to jump from company to company or think about external circumstances, all you need to do is be confident,
    duplicate what the best do and keep knocking doors!
    A little humorous pitch helps bind the customers:
    Comedy can be strategically used to get the customer to like you and get further along the sales process and end up
    getting a lot more sales.
    However, there is a line so that you don't be too friendly and move from the business zone to the friend zone.
    It is important to maintain a balance between the two. It is also essential to have fun along the way while working in
    this tough industry, and not be just a sales robot knocking on people's doors.
    Don't be afraid to go out there and try new things or try new markets. Attitude is important and the way you view life.
    "Break monotony". Break the homeowners' pattern, ask questions, reach out to new people.
