Why are people upset in NYC? They voted blue for the governor and mayor who both want this and knew about it before the 2022 election. THEY VOTED FOR THIS!
Most people in NYC are not too upset about this. It is people from outside the city who are most upset about this.
@@unconventionalideas5683Speak for yourself I’m upset and I’m pretty sure people are. If I’m driving to nj that’s already near $100 which is fucking crazy
You act like the government cares about your vote
I mean, all the money is going to fixing the trains signalling systems, improving accessibility and electric buses. Sounds good to me
@@unconventionalideas5683 maybe you speaking for yourself and people are living midtown and lower Manhattaners majority people like myself and others who drive to Manhattan and people like taking the Uber or people like buying cheap groceries food are fed up with this nonsense. I totally understand emergency Vehicles getting though the traffic but they can use the bus lines to get though traffic
if you add it all up in the last few years with rent hikes food hikes fuel hikes everyday cost have gone up you can soildily expect to be about 20k extra per year out of your pocket
Every old.
Solution? - STOP building new buildings in Manhattan!!!
Too many signs to pay attention to any of them.
Asylum Seekers get
$1000 monthly, plus
$350 weekly (for a baby, that's est. $2500 a month for a kid)
Money doesn't grow on trees.
Congestion pricing? What a joke. Even after the pricing, they'll still be asking for more cash from the feds. Basketcase of a city.
Install Ring doorbell cameras 📷
Whats next? they gonna limit the amount of times we flush the toilet?
😂
Not 1080p ? Haiti or nyc!?
Enough !!!!
Every violent incident on public transit becomes a news story. The reality is it’s much safer to take transit than to drive a car. Motor vehicles are a leading cause of death. Getting murdered on the subway, while horrific when the rare incident happens, is very much not. It’s just blown way out of proportion by the media.
New Jersey is the last One to talk. their a EZ pass scanners sometimes work and then when they make give the bill and add 50.00 on the a 5 dollar toll.
Maybe getting nothing but high crime for 50% of your income, 10% sales tax, gas tax, vehicle registration tax, property tax, health insurance, car insurance, and $30 for eggs is why people don’t want to pay an additional $26 dollars for what they already paid for.
The MTA is staffed with people who are experts at wasting or embezzling money, they don't need more, truth be told if it were run by competent people it could use less, but frankly big government and big union greed knows no bounds.
And they voted themselves on the congestion pricing decision. Of course it passed unanimously. They voted to give themselves money.
These things are implemented before anybody has a saying. Days before it goes into effect it goes to Court. and it's approved. Manhattan is Crazy . even parked you get a Ticket. I never Drive into Manhattan.
Gee all of the bridges that charge tolls in NYC are MTA, so where is that money going.
I don’t live in NY and will never do. From an outsider point of view it is so expensive no one should. Cold, high crime, and normal people can’t live or go there.
Not changed in decades.
Why they don’t take 45% of the city officials salary instead to help pay the MTA issues.
But the fares are still goin up! They went up last yr!
1:08 Cuomo said it all. "Either the rider pays the fare or it's congestion pricing" and the car owners will pay the fare evaders fare for them.
How's that for a fair threat?
Random bag checks. You can deny the search and walk out the train station. Then try again. 😅😅.
Why they dont talk about the millions of dollars in bonuses they mta hire up get while miss using the mta funds
Let’s laugh. What is next walking toll
Everything George Harrison said in the Beatles song "Taxman."
These tolls will not help with congestion or air quality, just a money grab. Instead implement a Odd/Even ban. If you drive on the wrong day then issue a traffic summons fine to that vehicle.
congestion pricing makes new york more greedier than ever. enough with it. i am glad its paused and I am sure alot of drivers can feel how bad it was.
It would have been a lot easier to just put a high tax on parking and raise meter rates to the same level as a garage.
How about a concession for electric vehicles that don't diminish air quality to begin with????
This comment section is delirious. Congestion pricing is a good thing. Small businesses will prosper with less traffic, the subway will be funded, extending lines, and more. getting cars off the road is a good thing, get that through your head people.
Just bill the uber companies and taxis, delivery trucks not regular commuters. Majority of the traffic are commercial vehicles providing services!!!!!!!!!! This is egregious
I have a question can't seem to find the answer do I have to play this concession charge and if so how will they enforce it
So, New Yorkers complain about these polices, but can't figure out the fact that they directly voted for these policies
Signal stations look dangerous. Should wifi wireless?
1 billion dollars means nothing when you have to pay prevailing wage for everything..... at this point unions of MTA are BS.
Now Hochum can make her nail appointment on time.
Hochul's Government is based in Albany.
Too many people wanting to live in the same area .. at the end of the day it’s as simple as that
Use public transit. Problem solved
Isn't this being tried in London right now and has turned out to be a total failure and is costing London more than it ever took in because of the destruction of cameras and to push back from the citizens?
We too soft in nyc to do anything
All they will say is "its to protect the children" and the masses cave in and let dumb laws pass
They need an air tax! Lung capacity, job activity and income level should be what the life saving, environmentally friendly tax measure should be based. I'm a democrate and I support this measure.
All those board members who voted for it are gon a split the money thats why theyre so happy..they arent fooling anyone..never goin back to ny ever again if i can help it.theyll still do this and still rsise the fare and tolls..thatll tell you where the congestion money is goin😂😂
That's the best thing about the US. The states are so diverse in their policies that you don't HAVE to live in New York! So all you people bitching in the comments can honestly just go live your own lives and not have a care in the world of what NYC does (unless you actually live in the metro area). I also see people saying things like "move out of New York!". These are generally the same people who are like "these Californians ruined MY red state!". First of all, it's not yours, millions of other people live there, second of all just let the people do what they want, and if you don't like it, move somewhere else! People do so much complaining and aren't willing to solve problems for themselves.
MTA elevators are broken most of the time
No amount of toll & tax money will help with mismanagement.
Time to move up Westchester cause no one aint going to pay for bridge fees everyday and that useless $15 to go in Manhattan
In the meantime the MTA is begging low/no income people to get reduced fares.
the mta is allready spending the congestion pricing money lol
