there is a history of punk that everyone knows and that you hear all the time in every one of those punk documentaries, and there is a whole other history of punk that is sadly being forgotten and no one ever covers it. bands that were huge and important in their scenes but for various reasons didnt break through or get the coverage and then just get lost in the same old story and selling points about CBGB and English punk. for me Jennifer is an icon.
@@SuperMururoa i dont really go on about punk too often because honestly punk was kind of a limiting scene, and a lot of the truly artistic people went on to more experimental things being labeled as post punk. but yeah for me Jennifer was the thing that elevated The Nuns from just being a pretty mediocre standard dirty New York style garage kind of band that happened tp be in San Francisco. i just say punk because they were labeled as part of that scene or at least the band was. i dont really think of her as a punk, she was much more interesting and actually stood out where as a lot of self identified punks did not actually stand out from one another.

IMHO, she was closer to 'Decadent' Rock than Punk, more a Nico than a Patti Smith or a Siouxsie.
She was still fabulous and the Nuns were totally sonic!
