I've always felt that the intro to BREAKFAST TIME (both theme music and varying slow pan-out visuals) to be the best opener ever created for a breakfast TV programme. I don't think it's ever been bettered. IMHO.
@@DBIVUK Yes, agreed. The sun animation is a little jerky and I think they smoothed it out in later years with improved graphics technology (but I still prefer the original version). I'm not too keen on slick!

I just wished they had edited the animation to remove the slight film jump when the elements of the sun figure begin to rotate.

Here I would have been thirteen and off school for the Summer holidays. My birthday coincided with the General Election the previous month!
I always used to wake up in the morning, go in the kitchen and hopefully watch the opening of Breakfast Time.
I remember the style BBC News heading in use on the teletext information service Ceefax.
I wonder if George Fenton composed the music based on the phrase 'BBC Breakfast'?
