  • Dodge Grand Caravan Wiper motor replacement and seized wiper assembly
one day my wipers on my super awesome 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan locked up???? like what the hell???? so I'm a fix it your self kinda guy so I ordered the motor assembly from amazon for way less than the parts stores could do. the whole Job is very simple and I think a common folk could do the job the only special tool is a $15 tie rod puller. Other than that a typical socket set will do. the tools required to complete this task are:
-10mm, 13mm, 15mm sockets and a ratchet wrench to fit them, a flat blade screw driver or some sort of small pry tool and a tie rod puller.

I didn't need the puller to get the wiper arms off. A little wiggling is all it takes.

Mine were on there so tight I thought it was going to break for sure

Great video. I have the assembly out and I too have the same seized area how did you separate the two pieces so I can clean out the rust and put it back together ? I have a 2015 grand caravan. Thanks

I ended up putting the nut on and hit it with a hammer. There is some sort of locking cover that you have to get off it was not to hard but it almost seems like you will break it but once it’s apart just keep the parts in order and clean up the inside bore and the shaft grease it up and put it back together. You will need a socket or piece of pipe to reinstall the lock cover then should be perfect

Thanks for the respose. I was looking for a clip like on other models I will try prying off that silver cap if not I will have to by new!
      Thanks for the video though

Once the cap is off it’s very easy. I should have done the other side at the same time.

Just an update sir. i ended up buying new on sale for 125 canadian and the new replacement part now has retainer clips on both sides. Almost like dodge once again trying to make parts non serviceable 😄

@@Patrick-s2z easier for service technicians to just change parts than actually fixing them. That’s good to see the new ones are serviceable

How did you get the pins out of the linkage?

Are you talking about the pivot that the actual wiper arm connects to? If that’s what you mean there is a pressed on cap that holds it all together. I pried it of in a vice and used a punch to push the pin out. I took a good amount of persuasion with a hammer but it eventually can apart
