      byeout May doesn’t speak much about her love to Daisy as daughter but since Daisy was shot in S01 there are a lot of subtle scenes showing it. She was the first to react (punching Quinn) when they were told Skye had no chance to survive, showed her rare emotional face rushing to Daisy bedaide after Simmons had put the drug, tapped Daisy on shoulder when she officially became Shield agant, called FitzSimons just to see this, offered to be her SO when Daisy found out Ward is Hydra etc. that’s just from Season 1!

      Am I the only one really angry they never gives us a proper mother-daughter scenes, all I wanted from last season was May to acknowledge Daisy as her daughter and Daisy with May as her mother, but instead they did so dirty in this relationship mother-daughter duo, we knew it since s1 and they didn't care about not even 1 proper scene, Marvel underrated Maisy

    honestly something with more impact would be may saying she sees daisy as a daughter - because she obviously does she just seems to distance herself from those feelings because of bahrain/daisy's complicated past with her parents. may's 'you're not her father' in the context of what came before sort of came across as 'we're not her parents'. we already know how coulson relates to daisy, it's old news tbh, what we need to see is may being given an opportunity to show the same thing in a more obvious way than her just shooting down anyone (see: lincoln, coulson, etc) who dares to imply she doesn't care about daisy.

    • @SaraBethCox

      yes! i agree. in season five and four they've grown apart though. and season five may showed that she cared for robin as a daughter. :( that devestated me

    • @ericasharp1872
      @ericasharp1872 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      May can care for both Robin and Daisy as daughters. Just because she was the way she was with Robin don't mean that she don't care for Daisy in the same way. Think about it Daisy is not a little kid like Robin who needs to be cuddle. Robin was still a little kid in need a motherly hand that only May was able to give. May only knew Robin for a short while. If you hadn't notice how May first started acting towards Daisy when they first reunited. When Daisy showed her the wound on her arm May act maternal about it holding that arm to inspect then telling Daisy that the medics section are ready. Then when Daisy admitted how she can't use quick because of that thing in her neck. May gently moved Daisy's hair out the way to inspect it. Also since Daisy's returned May seems to always be watching her with a worry scare look on her face. Maybe because she's worry about what might have happened to her while she was with those blue Aliens. So if May thought of Daisy as a daughter before she still does. I don't see her react in the same way for the others excepted maybe Phil like she did when Daisy's in danger.

    • @SaraBethCox
      @SaraBethCox 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That puts me a little bit at ease. I just don't really like robin. Idk if it's cause the older version is from gmw but mostly it's cause of the relationship the two have. I hope they'll have more mooments between the three though :)

If you look closely I think she's that same girl in 5x11 who seems obsesse with quack. I think it's the same person. I always enjoyed the bond that Daisy and May has more so then the father daughter bond between Daisy and Coulson. We got that with Giles and Buffy. Most shows I've watched that showcased that start of bond between teacher and student are usually father daughter bond instead of mother daughter bonds and I'm tired of it. Of seeing shows with more maternal males figure towards the student then maternal female figures could have for a student. So I like that Coulson yet another maternal male figure is not the onle one in this show who's developed this start of maternal like bond with Daisy but a female figure May as well.
    But this shows spends too Much time showcasing Coulson and Daisy's relationship and consently reminding us of his fatherly love for Daisy as if we didn't already know and would forget without the consent reminders. I know that they show May and Daisy bond but not enought. They finally started spending more time on that relationship but once again the writers can't seem to do so without it centering around Coulson as if he has to be the center of every universe and is the reason for every May and Daisy thought and actions has. As if everything they do has to revolve around him even the actions they take for eachether seems to have to do with Coulson.
    I don't understand why the show can't just showcased May and Daisy's relationship without revolving it around saving Coulson. I mean May has shown to care just as much as Phil Coulson for Daisy. She's just always been more close off about her true feelings while Coulson has always been more open. Anyone can see what Daisy means to him because he don't try to hide it and never worries about who knows the truth are not. May is the opposite. But as the years went by she started opening up more. Just not enough even by final she seem to still hide.
    So the show makes it seem like Coulson is the reason for Mays every thought and action. But that's because she don't try to her love for him because she's not afraid of that love. But the other type of love such as maternal love terrifies her expecually if that love is toward an inhuman. So Mays character tries to hide what she feels for a serten inhuman which is Daisy behind other feelings like the love she has for Coulson. I hate how we didn't even get a hug between her and Daisy in 5x22 like we did with Coulson. I mean someone don't have to be dieing to get a hug and this was sopposdly the last season what the showrunner thought it was. So they should've made time to at leas give us a loving moment between Daisy and May. I mean like Coulson and Daisy May and she also shares a special bond. I mean we didn't have to get a "i love you" between them but we should've at leas got a hug.

    • @pyr1412
      @pyr1412 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Erica Sharp they all love her. Fitz and Jemma are her older independent friends and brother and sister , Mack’s the oldest brother for her, Yo yo is just like a friend and of course May and Coulson are the parents for the original 3 kids and because I see Mack as a baby sitter like I did when Ward was still Ward and with them back in season 1. Daisy’s the baby on the show anyways since she’s the youngest out of all of them so that’s why Coulson and May focus on her more.

    • @SaraBethCox
      @SaraBethCox 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love her relationship with coulson so much! But I'm glad they show may and daisy's relationship albeit not very much but to the point that you know she cares deeply for daisy as her own daughter as well. I'm glad that they showed that at first they didn't hit it off from the start and that their relationship was progressing and after it did, you could see how they changed each other. Daisy especially I think helped may a lot and not just her but all her teammates. Despite liking coulson and daisy's relationship I agree that I don't like the fact that they show that coulson's as if the center of every universe, but then again, daisy is almost like that. (or at least second)
      Perhaps in season 6 we'll get that more now that coulson's gone. What do you mean that her type of maternal love terrifies her ESPECIALLY if it's inhuman? I don't understand the last part.
      I'm glad that though the show focuses a lot and like the whole thing on fighting and world ending and all that drama stuff, they also show throughout all the seasons that they are a family that fights together and against each other at times. Each member has a special bond with each other and you can see that clearly and each role is like a role in a family.

    • @ericasharp1872
      @ericasharp1872 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SaraBethCoxWhat I mean by Mays feelings for Daisy terrifies her more then her love for Coulson due to Daisy being an inhuman because of what happened in Bahrain with Kytia. You know that child May tried to save but failed. Before that day that moment she was looking forward to starting a family and becoming a mother. She really wanted to be a mother and then that day was the day her dream of being a mother ended. She felt damage unworthy of being a mother. But then Daisy and the other bus kids came into her life. It took her longer to warm up to Daisy even before she became inhuman due to her being a reminder of who May use to be before Bahrain. Daisy has always been alot like May Coulson even said so in season 1. But when May first set eyes on Kytia she couldn't help but smile thinking of the child she would one day have. But then she was force to kill that child. So now when she develops deep feelings expecually if there maternal feelings like she feels for Daisy and expecually if it's for another power person like Kytia it scares her to death. Not a day went by where she didn't fear Daisy ending up like Kytia. You see that's why May is always reminding Daisy to relied more on her comeback skills and not just her inhuman power . Because she didn't want Daisy to end up like Kytia.
      Even to the end May always had that fear in the back of her mind of Daisy ending up like Kytia. May is always reminding Daisy to control her emotions and used them on her time because what losing control of your emotion means for a power person is if that power person loses control of their emotions then their power can get out of control and they can end hurting themselves are someone else and that's why having these emotional atachment to Daisy scares May to death because the more she cares for Daisy the more It'll hurt if she loses her and the more she feels for her the more she fears losing her. When Daisy was being control by Hive that was most likely a reminder of Kytia and her mind control to May. Daisy even hurt Fitz and almost killed Mack. So her feelings for yet another inhuman Daisy terrified her more then anything because of not just what inhuman Daisy is capeble of. But she fears losing Daisy to her power and fears that she be unable to save her. Like she was unable to save Kytia.

      Oh right!!!! I totally forgot about that part. Thank you for writing the long comment and explaining too. :) When written out like the way you've done, it makes it even more sweet when you think of daisy and may's relationship that not only did may not set aside daisy as just another agent, but she actually did care for her and not stop her emotions even when it was hard. Ya know? I wish season 4 and 5 still had that, the relationship with the team more but that's where things just go down hill and everyone's taking on so many things they haven't had the time to really just sit down and relax.

      I don’t believe in the whole “you only have one father and one mother” thing. A lot of people irl, even if they have good parents, have mother or father figures outside of that. But there’s also a good amount of people, again irl, who don’t have good parents or whose parent(s) are dead, so they look for someone else to step into that role. It’s really nice to see Marvel recognizing that and going with that, both in AoS and in the rest of the MCU
