I was born and raised in Scotland, I've lived in the US. for many years now. There is still nothing that compares to the highlands, beautiful. I miss it every day.
You folks did well covering some good sights there. Enjoyed your video of wonderful Scotland. I personally, can't wait to get back. Ever so much to see and experience there. Lots of interesting things off the beaten paths too. What a country! Cheers from Canada
Great piece Kara, I enjoyed this. Some of my clan moved from Scotland to Northern Ireland 411 years ago (plantation of Ulster) ,to give you an idea how long ago that was it was 10 years before the Mayflower landed at Cape Cod . Scots Irish dialect is still widely spoke to this day in many areas of Northern Ireland and some areas in the Republic of Ireland..
THANK YOU FOR NICE VIDEO WITH ALL THE BEAUTIFUL IRELAND .. AND 10 UNIQUES TO DO IN SCOTLAND .. BEEN THERE IN OCTOBER ONLY 3 DAYS, BUT 3 DAYS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO EXPLORE ALL THE INTERESTING SCOTLAND
Can I ask you something ? #8 Isle of skye - where it is exactly please ? I really want to go there. I mean the land from 7:03 to 7:40 on the video. Thank you very much. Cheers from Czech republic !
I'm so happy to see you found Connage dairy in Ardersier (for your personalised milk). Did you sample the excellent Cheese Room? - I was born and raised in Ardersier (quite a few decades ago), and it's sadly expanded from a wee village to quite a spread now. - Not even 2 miles out of Ardersier is Fort George, and wondered if you managed to take that in as well. All the best and kind regards to you and your mum.
Unfortunately, the cheese room was closed when we went. My mom would have had an absolute field day with it! We did pick up a few from the vending machine though. So not a total miss!
How was driving? We'll be there next year and I am nervous about driving on the left side of the road! Gives me some ideas though on where we should go besides Edinburgh!
Little tip for you, ifyou are an American and not used to a stick shift make sure you book an automatic car.. You will soon get used to driving on the left, just follow everone else.
If you are concerned about driving on the left wait till you drive on single track roads. These are roads were there is only one lane so you will have vehicles driving towards you. There passing places every 100yds or so for you to pull into to let vehicles pass or overtake.
@@johngray8651 Sounds like driving in rural communities in Northern California, so not too bad excepting the 'other side of the road' stuff. :-) Definitely getting an automatic if we choose to drive around!
So you drove with the car for most of the time right? Is there any other option you can choose if you’re in the highlands, except for these day tours with a bus?
There are also trains that go around the highlands, however, due to the sparse population of the highlands they don't have extensive travel routes or stop much during their journeys.
"I´m going to look out for things that may be Harry Potter related..." Erm, how about Edinburgh (Venice of the North)? You know, the CAPITAL, where Harry Potter was written and just about every store is HP related (sadly).

We visited July last year and absolutely loved it!

Thank you Kara! I am heading there in May on a self drive tour. You have given me many good ideas of what to explore.
I explored Many of these areas as a small child in the 1970’s. You really captured the magical land that is Scotland. I enjoyed it very much…thanks
Well done! You and your mom are great sports!
Thank you! My mom humors me by going along with my crazy ideas
great video. You looked pretty well wrapped up for all of it!
Great video! Now I want to go!
Great video👍
Great video. Where was your first hike by loch lomand? And the hike in glencoe? Those are both beautiful!!

We’re going there in June! Thanks for the tour 😊
When you was at the Falkirk Wheel you should have gone 3 miles down the road to the Kelpies.
Everyone misses out on Galloway in the South West. A hidden gem, Scotland in miniature.

If you see the Falkirk wheel, you'd better see the Kelpies, too. But seriously: get a milkshake?

Hi Kara. Which month is this?
We were there in the middle of September 😊
Oh Caledonia. I can’t wait to go back. You captured some stunning views. In which month did you visit?
I visited in September - less crowds, more rain!
👍🔥👍👍

@@elliebeep27 In UK you need a licence which allows you to drive a car with a manual gear otherwise it needs to be an automatic.
@@johngray8651 Interesting! I never had any desire otherwise considering here in the US it is pretty rare to learn how to drive a manual these days.

Hahaha I like how Explore Edinburgh is not in the top 10 list. Tourists usually get lost in Edinburgh. They should visit Glasgow, and Inverness too

Unique? These are the obvious things. A helpful list for a person seeking tourist highlights.
Necropolis=City of the dead.
Necropolis is Greek, means city of the dead
A braw vid,,,,,,thanks.
Please try to say Glasgow. It's Glasgo. It's not like 'cow' on the end. It's gow like slow.
Thank you! This is a very helpful explanation.
Don't sweat it. Your love for Scotland is what counts. If your tongue doesn't quite say what your thinks it should we've all been there
