Really enjoying your last two deck techs. Keep it up. I haven't done any testing, but conceptually I like Hera Blue and trying to take advantage of Jedi Lightsaber, The Force Is With Me, and It Binds All Things alongside Ezra and Kanan. Of course, as you pointed out, I'd probably be better off just running Blue/Yellow with some other leader at that point.
So I know that the Hera deck isn't that competative. However, I DO like building decks in various games (like in Magic) that are fun centric first, and competative second. The main reason I do this is not just for personal fun, but also when teaching the game to other people (typically at the store or at a convention) it add so much fun for the person learning. Additionally, this kind of deck gives you a lot of imaganitve options. I am waiting for the final parts for my Hera deck to come in (I went double green as well). Hopefully it will do well at my store, but again if not . . .I am going to just have fun with it!
I'm just a beginner, but I built a Hera Blue deck that I like. I added as many Spectre cards as I have (Sabine, Ezra, The Ghost). Leans heavily on Repair, Vanguard Infantry, Battlefield Marines, Mercenary Company, Alliance X-Wing and Consortium StarViper. Only 3 Rare cards in the deck, the rest are Common and Uncommon. Splash of Dodonna, Yularen and Yoda. 12 events. It beat a Boba Fett Red deck consistently.
hi! nice video! thank you alot ! what are your thoughts on bail organa, vanguard infantry and rebel assault? and to your point battlefield marine i can swap with sabine when i want to have more power for my kanan ghost and chopper ?
Hi thanks, yeah in retrospect I think swapping marine for Sabine is a good idea and I'd probably make that change! I think bail and vanguard are too slow unfortunately. I also think rebel assault could have a place, allow you to go a bit faster. Hope that helps!
Nice video. I still want to try it. I'm sure it will get better as more sets release (real cope). What do you think about finding a spot for Kallus in there? for thematic reasons
Thanks! Yeah I think you could take out Steadfast Battalion for Kallus, it might make it a bit worse simply because of the lower attack, but as you say it would make it more thematic. The card draw could possibly come in handy though, we have a lot of uniques in the deck.
It's interesting how you miss the key point of the hera spectre deck. The one thing that most of the spectres have in common is that they are value cards. They are very efficient for their cost and while they seem to have no synergy there synergy and there synergy with hera is just how efficient they are and how efficient of a deck they enable. Due to their low cost and decent curve you can essentially play double green control while also playing mid range at the same time. You can just outvalue your opponent from the start with sabine. Like if you are able to ecl into ghost into sabine you are just so efficient that even if your opponent also runs ecl they will not be able to deal with your board efficiently while you are already positive trading with sabine. You can still ramp and with how strong of a card command is you basically steal your opponents resources away from them without having to sacrifice your curve or board like with other control decks. Not saying hera is meta or anything just that she is no where near as weak as you make her sound
Yeah I think all of the leaders are viable to some extent, but by definition her not being meta means she must be weaker than other leaders who are. I made the deck you're describing and it works some of the time, it just so happens that to beat the best decks your deck can't work some of the time, it needs to work all of the time.
Pulled two showcases... both Herra. Tried soooo many ways to make her work, sadly as current state, this will sadly just be a rubbish card. Can not see many cards in future being added as that space will be need3d for other group units, Bad Batch, Hutts etc. Just not seeing her improve much, considering selling her before her price drops too much. Still some good information here which will help
